I decided to test what .25g BBs will work better out of Matrix .25g, GoldenBall .25g, and washed GoldenBall .25g BBs. I was the GoldenBalls using Soccer77's method.
I usually use matrix .25g BBs but I had been reading more and more about what BBs you use and what affect they have on your guns performance. My gun, a Custom M4, is shooting about 370fps with .20g. My hop-up set up is a Modify Hop-up Chamber, Systema bucking, Element H-nub, and a Prometheus ash 363mm barrel. I had one midcap of each loaded and I was testing in my backyard. Its about 225ft long. There is a tree dead smack in the middle about 160ft out. That will be my target. The Gun and Mags ![]() The mags. You cant see it very well, but they are labeled. ![]() My range. The tree in indicated in red. ![]() Results: The Matrix BBs had about a 3ft spread with lots of flyers. About 1/3 of the BBs went 3 more ft left or right. Both mags with GoldenBalls yielded the same results. About a 2ft spread at 160ft with no flyers at all. I actually think the unwashed ones might have had a little tighter groupings than the washed ones, which surprised me. I now need to buy a crap-ton of GoldenBall BBs. Lol. After this experiment, I don't know why I was using the Matrix BBs. If anybody has any questions, feel free to ask. |
