Here is a list of the AEP SMG's out so far, and who manufactures them:

MP7 - TM, Well, Galaxy, BE

vz61 Skorpion - TM, Well, JG (coming soon)

Mac10 - TM

Any of these guns can be one hand wielded with ease, and are used where a larger pistol would be used, compared to, say, an MP5 that is a shrunk down rifle used where a small rifle would be used.

Personally, I have a Well MP7, and will probably get a USP. I have a Mk23 SOCOM, and the MP7 wields about the same as that admittedly large pistol.

Another way to look at it is this, these guns all fit in a holster, so they are more accurately machine pistols, instead of machine guns.

Just my thoughts.

Personally, I think that the execution of the AEP SMG's could have been carried out a bit better. The substitution of a micro 8.4 type for the existing 7.2v battery would have given these weapons a significantly higher degree of skirmishability and upgradability, the two areas where they are lacking, at least in my opinion. They work excellently as secondaries, but with that simple modification, they would gain the capability to be used as primaries, which could make all the difference.

How about the MP5K, about the same size as a pistol and has the same kind of uses, it's good for a secondary but has a good range and FPS

Nothing wrong with the MP5k, persay, but it is an AEG, not an AEP (as far as internals go)

MP5k uses type 3 gearbox (which is cool, better than other MP5s and type 2 boxes) and takes all their upgrades.

The others use the newer AEP gearboxes, which don't have the upgradability (yet) of the AEG's.

Oh, and Mooseburrito, while I use my MP7 mostly as a backup, I have used it for primary in a CQB situation (XIA) and liked it. A Lot. It was plenty powerful, and I never ran out of juice with it (went through approx. 1500 rounds that night).

Just chrono'd again today (finally got it back from XIA) and my MP7 still chrono's at 266-271 fps over 30 rounds or so (not including the one into my thumb. Ouch... and don't ask.)

Is there an AEP that accepts standard Uzi/9mm rounds like this? I don't know if an electric Uzi exists, as I've only seen GBB Uzi's.

TM made (makes?) an AEG UZI full size. It's the only AEG that TM makes that I would steer clear of, though.

Wish they made the Mini Uzi in AEP though... that would be fun...

I got a well mp7 and it broke after like a month. a-embarassed.gif I now know why... at the time I didn't know that dry firing would cause problems. Well, I did that ALOT and it turns out, it broke!

You could also throw the MAC-10 and the Skorpion in that boat as well...

now how are the other Wells? After having been bitten by the Well R7 I am pretty much death on those. You said it was due to dry firing your weapon that it broke down so soon, however is it possible that that wasn't the only reason (in other words, it was poor quality and thus broke down)

I think you could put the G18 on the list, seeing as how it's full-auto capable and holsterable.

Yeah, Glock 18c's can definitely be added to this list.
Especially the Cyma's. I just wish I had bought a KWA G18C now instead of the Cyma...
But oh well. The 50 round extended mags are really cool, I need to get me some.
And maybe a silver slide... Hmm...

For makers of MP7 Umarex can also be added.
Seems to be a TM clone with all the markings, but the strength is only 0.5j.
It has metal gearbox with plastic bushings and with 0.2g bbs the fps is 65 m/s

Wasn't well with metal body? My umarex one is plastic. Also quite good finish and real trademarks.
