Hello everyone, I'm here to review the AGM Type 96 sent to me by Travis at AirsoftCommando I won the contest for the rifle, so here it is.

First Look
When the gun was sent to my door, I was very excited to see it in nice brown UPS paper. I ripped it all off and found the gun. Pretty heavy, about 8 pounds. There were some holes and a CSI sticker on it, but not much wear and tear. When I opened the box, the gun came in two pieces. The orange nozzle wasn't painted, so you can take it off, but I prefer to keep it on for extra safety.

The gun is plastic, but is pretty durable. You have to assemble it with the included allen wrench. The L96 also doesn't come with any trademarks, which is good depending on personal preference. I like it because you can engrave your own trades. One more thing, even though there is a scope and Harris bipod on the box, the gun doesn't include the it. The gun also came with cheap .12 gram BB's. The same ones that come with cheap springers. You won't need them, but I keep them for my pistol.

Reliability
The rifle is plastic, so yes, it does scratch. It is pretty durable, so I wouldn't mind dropping it, although like I said, it scratches. When I inserted the magazine, I found out why the gun was heavy: There were weights glued onto the sides of the rifle. Kind of cheap. Hehe. There are three. One in the front and two in the back. You can take them out since they are just glue. The buttpad is very comfortable, though it doesn't extend outward like the real thing. You can't even use the allen wrench to adjust it.

Performance
The first time I took the gun in the back and shot it, I was shocked. It was dead accurate and hit a soda can at 80 feet. This is my first sniper rifle, so by some of your guys' standards, it isn't all that impressive. But man, this thing can shoot, and packs a punch. The bolt is very smooth and natural to pull back, though I can't compare it.

According to the box, it shoots 350 FPS with .25's. At about 80 feet, I tested accuracy. I shot 5 BB's and got results of 7'inch groupings. Dead accurate. I was using .25's though. For best accuracy, I'd reccomend .28's. Using the soda can test, it shot through the bottom easy. I don't know if teflon taping the nozzle works or not. If it works like it does the JG BAR-10, the FPS can be raised pretty high.

Conclusion
Overall, I'm very impressed. Shoots very well, and fells like it just melts in your hand. Again, this is my first sniper rifle so I can't compare it. Last of all, I'd like to thank Travis for sending me the gun. The box came in about a week. The gun had no scratches on it, and came with a nice little AirsoftCommando sticker. Hehe. Hey, it's good. But it will need some pictures and some more text, as it is a little short.. If you write about the internals possibly, and give us an overview of the externals, I am sure it will be good. But otherwise, you have a good review in the making.

You write the review, and if it passes approval, it will be moved to the appropriate section.

AGM Type 96

By Devin Tran

Hello everyone, I'm here to review the AGM Type 96 sent to me by Travis at AirsoftCommando I won the contest for the rifle, so here it is.

First Impressions
When the gun was sent to my door, I was very excited to see it in nice brown UPS paper. I ripped it all off and found the gun. Pretty heavy, about 8 pounds. There were some holes and a CSI sticker on it, but not much wear and tear. When I opened the box, the gun came in two pieces. The gun is plastic, but is pretty durable. You have to assemble it with the included allen wrench. The L96 also doesn't come with any trademarks, which is good depending on personal preference. I like it because you can engrave your own trades. One more thing, even though there is a scope and Harris bipod on the box, the gun doesn't include it. The gun also came with cheap .12 gram BB's. The same ones that come with cheap springers. You won't need them, but I keep them for my pistol.

Real Steel History
The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare rifle is a family of bolt-action sniper rifles designed and manufactured by the British company Accuracy International. The Accuracy International PM (Precision Marksman) rifle was entered into a British competition in the early 1980s as a replacement for the Lee-Enfield derived sniper rifles then in use by the British Army (e.g. L42A1). Generally Arctic Warfare rifles are outfitted with a Schmidt & Bender PM II telescopic sight with fixed power of magnification or with variable magnification.

Appearance/Feel/Build Quality
The rifle is plastic, so yes, it does scratch. It is pretty durable, so I wouldn't mind dropping it, although like I said, it scratches. When I inserted the magazine, I found out why the gun was heavy: There were weights glued onto the sides of the rifle. Kind of cheap. Hehe. There are three. One in the front and two in the back. You can take them out since they are just glue. The buttpad is very comfortable, though it doesn't extend outward like the real thing. You can't even use the allen wrench to adjust it. Also, the seam lines are visible. One more negative: the magazine only works with the gun. Sorry.

Internals
The cylinder head is brass, and removable. The head is kind of loose, so teflon taping it will keep the air from leaking. The piston and spring are both longer than average. As far as I can tell, the hop-up is not replaceable. Tear. However, a lot of the parts are upgradeable with after market parts.

Pros and Cons
Pros
Shoots hard
Dead accurate
Durable
Upgradeable
Cheapest Type 96 on the market
Natural bolt pull
Comfortable buttpad

Cons
Magazines aren't compatible
Seam lines
Can't upgrade hop-up
Glued-in weights

Conclusion
Overall, I'm very impressed. As you can see, the pros outweigh the cons. Hehe. A couple of suggestions: Put the real steel history before anything or don't include it at all. It still needs to be longer, to lengthen it out a bit, talk about the small things on the gun. (mag catch, scope mounting options, other stuff.) Possibly do some more grouping and accuracy tests. Read other sniper rifle reviews to figure out what you should add to your own. Try to get some actual pictures of your gun, not someone's off the internet, or stock pictures from retailers. PM Me when you've made changes and I'll review it.
