Dear Fellow Members-Just bought a beautiful Umarex Ares Hk G36C at Wally World for under $100.00 and would like to purchase the correct aftermarket battery, charger and magazine for her.Although she comes with a SMALL 112 x 22 mm 28AAA 9.6V 300 mAh stick battery, Umarex USA sells an 8.4 V mini nunchuck style battery for around $33.00. Do I need to purchase this battery? Instead, could I purchase a less expensive 8.4 or 9.6 Volt mini nunchuck NiMh battery with a small-tamiya male connector and 2/3A cell size? If not, what do I specifically need and where can I purchase it? I do understand that the G36 has a longer hand guard, which allows the user to buy a bigger battery. I wish that I could say the same for the G36C. FWIW. I have looked all over the 'net for the correct replacement battery. Pyramid Air sells the Intellect brand 9.6 V 1200 mAh NiMh battery with mini Tamiya male plug, but it's out of stock and at 3/4 " OD, I think that it is too big! Also, what universal Smart Charger is recommended for this battery? Do I need a particular brand of Silicone spray/oil and where do I need to apply it besides a small amount in the magazine feed hole and barrel? Can anyone recommend a specific online vendor for a correct aftermarket high capacity magazine that costs less than Umarex's $33.00 one?Lastly, what do I use to clean the barrel and how often? Besides my Combloc and European small arms, I also have a varied arsenal of pellet guns and do realize that TOO much maintenance in the wrong areas can be just bad for guns as is too little maintenance. Thank you for any specific information, as I won't be shooting this beauty until I understand everything about her:)-Gearhead222-PS-I bought 5000 rounds of Crossman .20 gram Airsoft pellets, as they were a good price at Wally World and appear to have good reviews. Any feedback on .12 or .25 airsoft pellets for this gun?

Dear Members-UPDATE:-Received my trickle charger from Pyramid Air, only to discover that NONE of its attachments work with my Umarex battery. Hope that Pyramid Air pays for return shipping, as they recommended this charger. Called Umarex and discovered that NO silicone oil is recommended for this AEG gun! They also admitted that the 8.4 colt nunchuck style battery advertised on their site for the G36C AEG is the WRONG battery (it's for the Elite) and that the correct stick battery costs $14.95 and is available ONLY from them! I ordered 2 of these type batteries. They also recommended NO barrel or guncleaning. What disinformation! I also discovered that my battery came precharged-do I use it until the gun goes completely dead and then recharge for 2 hours? These are SMALL NiMh batteries and will not take much abuse. Also, can I leave the magazine wound up? I did not read anywhere where you could release the spring tension. On a better note, the $10.00 Collimator site and the $5.00 100 round Walther (made in Taiwan) speed loader look like a good deal. I have a $200.00 Russian Kobra Collimator sight for my Romanian semi AK-74 and for the application this Collimator site looks like a good deal. My dollars worth-Gearhead222:) Dear Fellow Members-Just bought a beautiful Umarex Ares Hk G36C at Wally World for under $100.00 and would like to purchase the correct aftermarket battery, charger and magazine for her.Although she comes with a SMALL 112 x 22 mm 28AAA 9.6V 300 mAh stick battery, Umarex USA sells an 8.4 V mini nunchuck style battery for around $33.00.
