Alright, I was checking out my Ares Tavor, and decided to take pictures of it as I was putting it back together, to make a sort of disassembly/reassembly guild for the gun. So if the pictures look a little off, or out of place, it's because I'm posting them backwards as a disassembly. Hopefully it won't look too awful.
The gun is not stock, it has been upgraded, the externals look the same, but the insides of the gun will look different in yours than they do in mine. This guide is built like this: Gun Disassembly. Gearbox Disassembly. (2nd Post) Special Reassembly Notes. (2nd Post) ---------------- Gun Disassembly. ![]() I start with taking out these two small screws. 1.5mm hex heads. I constantly forget about them, so now taking them out is the first thing I do. ![]() I take out these screws next. They are short 3mm hex heads. There is one on the other side of the gun as well. ![]() Next is the front sling mount. It's basically a long screw, with the flatish bit on the other side being the nut to hold it in place. ![]() ![]() The front heat guard should come off now. ![]() The screw closest to the rear iron sight is what comes out next. It's 2.5mm, hex head. The whole piece is kind of rubbery and needs to be popped out and popped back in when you re assemble it. ![]() next, you have these 4 phillips head screws than need to be taken out. If you have the short version, those rails will be a MARS sight. Unless you've replaced the MARS sight, like I have done. ![]() The piece should also just come right off after the screws are out. This is what it looks like. Now, here comes the worst part about the gun... ![]() ![]() See that? That's the trigger. That long metal, silver rod is attached to the gearbox, when you pull the trigger, it pulls the rod. Now, the problem is that very small screw on top of the trigger. It's a 1.5mm hex head, and you need a long head head screw driver to reach it. I don't have any pictures of the next bit actually on the metal bar, however, it is very similar to the trigger. ![]() The metal bar on the bottom, you see it come to an end. When talking apart your gun, there will be a small metal piece on it, held on by a small 1.5mm hex head screw. Loosen the screw, and slide the metal piece off. ![]() ![]() This is what the little metal piece looks like once it is removed from the gun. ![]() Now for the rest of the gun, this part is pretty easy. See that hole in the back of the gun. It's got two ridges cut into it. You'll need to take some really big coins, or two screw drivers and unscrew this thing. The reason you'll need two, is you have to hold the other side down while you are unscrewing. ![]() See, two pieces. ![]() Next is all the pins in the back. They all just pop out, it's not hard. The bottom spring release also comes out with some pressure to the sides. Once all of this has been done, the gearbox will slide out of the back of the gun, with some force. Be careful to not bend any of the rods, and remember that with the gearbox, you are also removing the barrel, so keep pulling it out straight.
