I bet many of you are asking what is parkour?

Parkour is the art of getting from point A to point B as fast as possible, usually in an urban environent. Parkour is also called free running or urban free flow.

So what does this have to do with airsoft?

Have you ever tried shooting at a skilled free runner? It is nearly impossible (unless you use your gun as a bb hose) I share the parkour passion with few airsofting friends and one night, after 2 redbulls and watching jessica alba in Into the Blue (she's so hot right?), we came up with the idea of parkour airsoft.

I'm not going to teach you guys parkour here because everyone developed their own unique style and it's really hard to explain, but check out YouTube for parkour inspiration.

Once you've got the parkour going, all you need now is a gun.

And so you ask, how do I do a cartwheel with an m249? You can't just use any old gun for Parkour Airsoft. What you need Is a light weight nimble weapon that you can hold with one hand. I prefer the mp7 but my friend has managed with an m4 shorty. Another good gun to use would be an mp5k. Remember, I'm just putting the idea out there because some might get hooked on this idea right away.

Here are Some cool things that you can try.

Diving and rolling into cover.
Getting to another bunker by flipping over your present one and running low and fast.
Zig zagging and confusion (best done by a whole group) - very effective when fast.
Navigating the airsoft course in a parkour stlye manor.
If your really daring, attepting a close quarter kill by backflipping out of a tree and firing in midair.

I'll keep adding to this (getting tired of typing on my iPod touc)

Oh and for all you legal bastards :

DISCLAIMER

I am not to be held liable for any injuries or deaths caused by the attempt of the stunts that I have mentioned above. Attempt parkour airsoft at your own risk etc... Etc...

ya that style is very effective because it is unexpected. It is extremely effective if done with many players doing it simultaneously

Haha yeah I see that pic of the guy backfliping and throwing the knife all over the place. Alota ppl have that picture as their dp.

Last game I did some experimenting,. You know how you can sometimes see the bullets coming at you in bursts? I tried dodging them hahaha. It only really works when one person is shooting at you and eventually they can predict what your going to do....Oh and also, it only works on Newbies who cant aim well. Its really easy when your up against a guy with a semi auto rifle because you just move whenever you hear his gun.

Ima gonna keep experimenting with randomly different stuff over the next few skirmishes.

Do you guys remeber this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2kJZOfq7zk

It's a pretty popular video. My brother (he's 18) goes to a camp that is trained by that guy and a guy named Phillip, who are professional marshal artist. It's called ninja camp as for the theme, but it involves a lot of training and stunts and parkour. As for airsoft, you have to be in a urban invirment to do the real stuff.

I think parkour styles in airsoft would only work on a small field, not cqb style with rooms but like an open course with crates and such

try running parkour across an open field

Just my opinion. But this has got to be the most retarded thing in the world. Granted you do it with small weapons, but the point of moving and acting like we do serves to protect us and enable us to use follow on shots. I'm not going to go into details, it would tak too long, but this is pretty stupid.

+1 I think parkour looks great and everything. but 10 times out of ten 10, the guy with his weapon shouldered and on target will hit the jack :censored2: doing flips and one handed spraying.

Once again, Parkour looks cool as sh*t and is a great workout. But is an epic fail for airsoft.

You know don't take the parkour thing straight, If I would combine the two I would apply the running, not the flips n' $#!% to airsoft. If you have a team charging towards you, all firing down range and running with nades' etc, its going to take a lot to stop them. That's the difference between Special Forces and the Corps, one is totally controlling you from the moment they step on the battlefield, the other waits, tires the enemy out, then makes calculated strikes.

In general, your best bet in combat is to minimize the time you spend outside of cover. The one single exception is, of course, running in a straight line. Makes you easy to lead and easy to hit. But the simple solution is to zig-zag. Otherwise, you're just doing damage to your own chances. Let's be honest, rarely in airsoft is only ONE bb coming towards you. Usually it is several shots or a burst, if not a spray. The likelihood that a flip, duck, roll, or whatever it is will make every bb in the burst miss you is pretty slim. Therefore your best strategy is to get behind cover as fast as possible. So delaying that by flipping, rolling, bouncing or whatever the a-censored.gif you are doing is just increasing your chances of getting hit, plain and simple. Plus those flips and such take your eyes off your enemy and distort or prevent your awareness of the combat situation (your eyes go off your target/the person shooting at you) which is just plain a bad idea...it means you'll need an extra split second to reorient to the situation.

Moral of the story? KISS- keep it simple, stupid.

I can see this working slightly, such as sliding and whatnot. But even if it doesn't work, you'd still always be known as "that guy with the dual mp5ks running on walls"

I don't care if this is impractical: It's b<AT>d@$$.
I've gotta try this.
It'd probably be difficult in combat gear and boots though.
Also: Thank you, Kav. That's an epic win.

I've done the sliding to bunkers and brush before. Flips are a no-go for me. Cartwheels I could barely do even when I was in Tae Kwon Do. Rolls I've done on concrete before (was dressed as Big Boss on Halloween and did it across a crosswalk while the light was still red and a taxi van was in front of the walkway), so I could prbably handle rolling on a knot in a root or whatnot. Now, erratic running patterns like zigzagging is a nice idea, but running perpendicular to your enemy's sights seems more effective at evading fire to me.
