ASF is Recruiting New Staff Members!
If you are a "Social Networking Expert" please let me know. If you're not sure what that is, I'll explain... A Social Networking website is a community website (much like AirsoftForum.com), where members share links, websites, comments, articles, bookmarks, photos, news, etc. These social networking sites vary greatly depending on the format. Social Network sites are also mistakenly called "Social Bookmark" sites, but that's a bit of a misnomer because as I said, not all social networking sites are bookmarking sites - some are for articles or photos, while others are specifically for sharing bookmarks and websites links. There are hundreds of networking sites. If you click to our home page and look just under the last article I posted a few days ago, please notice all the little colorful little icons just under the last article: http://www.airsoftforum.com/ By having little icons like that available for an article, members are allowed to share those articles and links with other members in their network or on their friends list for those social networking sites. HOWEVER... I am not posting this topic for you to go and click on all those little icons. If you want to - knock yourself out, we'd love it... More importantly, we are looking for ASF Members who already use sites like that on a daily basis. If you are familiar with any of the following and are very proficient in using these types of websites, we want to add you to our staff. I have some ideas that I want to share with you and if you're the right person for the job, I want to add you to our team here. Along with that come special perks and benefits that I'll only share with those of you who make it and are approved. Basically, here's what I need... If you use any of the following social networking sites and are "very familiar" with any of them, AND have good communication skills, please let me know. * Digg * Sphinn * del.icio.us * Mixx * BlinkList * blogmarks * Blogosphere News * Diigo * Fark * Faves * Fleck * FriendFeed * Live * Meneame * MisterWong * MSNReporter * MySpace * Netvibes * Netvouz * NewsVine * Propeller * RSS * Simpy * Slashdot * SphereIt * StumbleUpon * Technorati * Yahoo! Bookmarks * YahooBuzz * HelloTxt * Kirtsy * LinkaGoGo * LinkArena * N4G * Techmeme * ThisNext * YouTube * Wikio * Wists Special attention will be given to those of you that are proficient with facebook, myspace, stumbleupon, & twitter, but as I said, if you are good in using any of these, please let me know. well I have a facebook but so does every other person on the board, can you elaborate on being "very familiar", like just being popular and having lots of friends? or being able to navigate and use the site well?

the people that I am looking for are those who have accounts on those websites and know how to use them to their fullest potential such as how to use a particular social site to make friends, promote an article or website.
I suppose I should also tell you that the reason I am looking for these people is that the people selected will help me in a marketing campaign that we are about to begin. ASF is about to double in size and a select few people will help me do this. For example, ASF has a myspace page with over 200 friends. The problem is that I simply don't have the time or knowledge to work this myspace page to help recruit more traffic, visitors and members to the AirsoftForum.com website. I am trying to find a qualified person to take over this account and a few others. Once that person takes it over, it will be their responsibility to use that page to promote ASF and their goal will be to drive as much traffic to our website here as humanly possible. We're going to do this on a multitude of social networking websites. make sense? -------------------- |

the people chosen will be the "authorized ASF representatives". It's going to be their job to manage, maintain and market ASF on those networking sites. This may also be your backdoor into a staff position here such as a moderator on the forum, I'm not sure yet. I need to consult with the rest of the staff about this first before I grant anyone moderator access. But if you have good communication skills, are mature enough to handle this, then we'll see what happens.
if you're interested in this task (being the official spokes person for ASF on those social networking sites, please let me know. Please either send me a PM or post a reply with your profile so I can find and review your account here as well as on the specific SN website in question -------------------- |

I have a question: How exactly would we go about recruiting on youtube? I am very familiar with the site and use it daily, but I am not entirely sure how we would "recruit". Possibly make some videos and then comment on airsofters channels/videos about ASF?

I was wondering the same thing....half my day is looking at funny videos on youtube, and I've been trying to make more videos, and promoting ASF would be fun. -------------------- |

Possibly make some videos and then comment on airsofters channels/videos about ASF? Well, what I am thinking is to figure out some way to compensate you guys that are making videos. Check the other topic about this: http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/Asf-Youtube-t101406.html and here are some additional guidelines... 1. videos need to 3 minutes or less. 2. AirsoftForum.com can be promoted in the video itself or in listed in the text as a clickable link 3. The text area where you describe the video, needs to have at least a paragraph of text there about the video and ASF so that people can find your video and then maybe have a link to click to the forum here so they can read a discussion about the video. 4. I am thinking seriously to setup an affiliate system on this so that when you do send visitors to ASF, you earn money. I'll have more details on this later when I work the details out. Hey admin ... I may have to split this up and have a few people share the task - not sure yet. -------------------- |

I am on the Forum and youtube enough, if you guys make an Airsoftforum.com youtube account, I guess I could run it. We could all share the password so mods could get on and post videos, and I could get videos from non-mods uploaded, but of course you'd probably want to approve the videos, right? Also....I've been thinking....I feel like making a theme song for ASF.
Anyways, I will also mention ASF on an airsoft video that I make. Just message me if you are interested in me running the ASF youtube channel, or partially running it. Also, I am actually trying to make some money for debts I owe because of airsoft, so I like the affiliate system. This post has been edited by AEGmaniac: Jul 5 2009, 04:54 PM -------------------- |

I have a Youtube Account with a few hundred subscribers, and a FaceBook, but I'm really not comfortable with combining ASF with FaceBook

Anyways,I am okay if Admin decides for goldeneye to monitor youtube, just remember that if anything falls through I'll gladly do it for the forum. And for Narnia. Not really. -------------------- |

^ ...
Just a suggestion, wouldn't ASF banners on airsoft-related vids make a bit more sense? Just a thought... And maybe on the ASF.com youtube account, people could post video reviews and stuff. -------------------- |

^ ... Just a suggestion, wouldn't ASF banners on airsoft-related vids make a bit more sense? Just a thought... And maybe on the ASF.com youtube account, people could post video reviews and stuff. admin right now has the final say on everything about ASF's youtube channel, because he is running it at the moment. My plan was to have me and admin and some level 2 mods and normal mods have the password so they can upload their own videos, and then I would work with getting other ASF member's videos approved by Admin or a mod and then I would do the upload, and make sure all the videos are running with all of the information on it and answering all of the questions that people ask about ASF. I'm also getting a new video editing program soon so I could put an ASF banner into the video, maybe even with the persons account name, if they like. So that's just my plans, but admin right now has the final say on everything about youtube, because technically he's running it at the moment. Ehh? Kav had a good idea... Anyway, AEGmaniac, calm down a bit Sorry, when your tired(like me) and then have a bunch of sugar and crash, you say a bunch of random stuff. Anyways, the bold wasn't supposed to be like yelling, just some info before I stated what I wanted to say. Of course, it didn't appear that way. Actually, now that I think about it, Kav did have a good idea. This post has been edited by AEGmaniac: Jul 6 2009, 12:57 PM -------------------- |
