I honestly don't care if someone PM's me with a question I get itleast 1 a week I even have a link in my sig that says "Send me a message" lol. But yeah this is good so if anyone PM's me about the BAR10, I can just link them to this, and I might find this quite useful if I get the Bar-10 which I am considering. I don't mind it either but after getting 3-5 a day plus responses so 10 asking the same thing I wanted to fix it... -------------------- ![]() Asf for 5 years now. **Support my endeavors as a video airsoft reviewer!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/BaldwinTactical |

The free mods aren't worth 500 fps. The number was a one-off done on a gun without a broken in spring.

It will shoot 460 if you cut the airbrake however if you do the mods listed in my guide you will be pushing 500+ -------------------- ![]() Asf for 5 years now. **Support my endeavors as a video airsoft reviewer!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/BaldwinTactical |

The free mods aren't worth 500 fps. The number was a one-off done on a gun without a broken in spring. Not true actually. The average is 470 or so with full mods. The max I've PERSONALLY seen is 520. That's out of 127 rifles so far. But most of them will get around 470, and not much higher. You'll have to do a number of things, none of which I've posted so far (and aren't in snipershot's links) to get 500+ fps on average. I'll get around to updating that eventually, but for now, just PM me if you need more details. -------------------- Average rounds per kill with the M16 in Vietnam=50,000. What about teflon taping the cylinder head threads, tapered nozzle tip, and the before the barrel cutout do it creates a tight seal? Have you done this? I also put in a new O-ring and lubed it, that's probably why I'm shooting upwards of 500... -------------------- ![]() Asf for 5 years now. **Support my endeavors as a video airsoft reviewer!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/BaldwinTactical |

As I said, with FULL mods, including a few you probably haven't heard of, most of them don't get more than 470, even with tightbore. Some do, some don't. It depends on a number of different things.

I want to know how to connect the rail to it and connect the scope to that, because I am not sure if mine came with the proper screws. (I ordered the scope package on airsoftgi)
EDIT: I just hot-glued part of the rail on, so I hope that will make it stay. EDIT EDIT: Didn't work. This post has been edited by zebigmonst3r: Mar 29 2008, 11:52 PM |

StealthySniper, get the normal bar-10. The only difference between the two is that the g-spec has a mock silencer and is a tad bit shorter. The difference in accuracy should be minute, but the normal bar-10 should have a bit better accuracy because its longer (but barely).

If I have a stock Bar-10, would a DBC 6.01 tightbore barrel and a Nineball bucking(please link me) be good first upgrades? I am also doing all the DIY mods. If there is a better barrel(for the same price) or hopup I could get, please link me.

Actually the nineball performs better than the firefly IN THE BAR-10. The same is not true for the vsr however. I recommend an EdGI 6.00 megatight and nineball, best setup you can buy at the moment!

This just in: BAR-10's are being discontinued for copyright violations. TM sued JG successfully, and JG is no longer going to be producing BAR-10's. A recall is being contemplated.

Hello,
First of all thank you. all the threads and reply links everything has been such a big help to me on learning about my new airsoft rifle. Now I have read often that the stock screws that come with the gun are prone to stripping. does anyone know what size these screws are. the 2 screws for the stock and the 4 for the scope mount? -------------------- PRIMARY WEAPON- JG Bar-10

sorry if this isn't helpful but...
have you noticed how everybody just loves there bar 10, but if it was so great why is there hundreds of posts everyday on how to fix this and that with the it? in my opinion get a tm vsr, you'll be alot happier and you wont have to say when somebody asks you what gun you have, "a clone sniper", then walk away fast. I have a question.
If I have a JG Bar-10 with a 9ball bucking, shortened airbrake (if this applys), AREO hopup chamber NEO, and an EdGI kit with a 6.00m TB, what kind of range can I expect (8/10 hits)? Thanks This post has been edited by StealthySniper: Jun 13 2008, 07:15 PM |

I just got mine and you can hold your thumb over the cylinder hed for days and it won't lose any compression ;) You should expect 250 10/10 and 300 hit or miss... -------------------- ![]() Asf for 5 years now. **Support my endeavors as a video airsoft reviewer!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/BaldwinTactical |

Okay, thanks! EDIT: What are sears and how do I replace them? And if I were to get this package, would a Laylax cylander head be a good addition? EdGI's head might be the better choice because it is made to work with the rest of the kit in harmony ;) Sears are the metal peices in the trigger box that catch the piston when you pull back the cylinder. Take a look at the VSR dissasembly guide by RPC in the VSR section Also I got confirmation from Bnoji that the actual cup is made from eurathene and the ring in the back is made from teflon so that it glides smoothly, Great parts ;) BTW: I just chrono'ed my EdGI kit today and got 590-588 with sp02, :D -------------------- ![]() Asf for 5 years now. **Support my endeavors as a video airsoft reviewer!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/BaldwinTactical |

Also, what do I do if I wan't to add a Zero Trigger in the future? |

I would say go with a KA instead of nineball, and if you want to add a ZT in the future than put it in :P -------------------- ![]() Asf for 5 years now. **Support my endeavors as a video airsoft reviewer!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/BaldwinTactical |

The reason I asked about the ZT is because I thought the EdGI kit came with a piston, and if you have a ZT don't you have to use the orange piston? |

Yes you have to use the orange piston in but there is no need for ZT, and the KA is the same as the nineball only cheaper but some people suspect it to be better so we'll see when I get mine ;P

:D
Which should I buy first, the upgrade kit or tb? Will I need to buy a Laylax spring guide? EDIT: New questions: Is there suposed to be a third screw towards the front of the Bar-10 (like where the barrel and stock meet)? I see a hole in the stock and hole in the outer barrel for a screw but I'm not sure.... I only recall having 2 screws in the stock. Also, is it possible for the mag catch to come apart while the gun is assembled? Finally, I opened up the bolt today for no apparent reason, and as I put the bolt back into its place (like returning the bolt), a white ring fell out of the place where the bolt is supposed to return to. I see one identical ring in the place where you put the bolt but I don't know where this one goes. Help? This post has been edited by StealthySniper: Jun 15 2008, 03:33 PM |

After you put the bolt back into the assembly the ring goes over the top of it and then you slide the barrel onto that.
There are only 2 screws required to remove the gun from the stock. The mag catch shouldnt come apart while the gun is assembled unless, well, you put it in wrong in the first place. -------------------- |

how long are edgi's sears supposed to stand up to that spring because isnt that the equivilant of the m170 Dunno what FPS you'll get with the m170, the Sp02 if maximized is up to 640FPS while the sp01 is 550FPS but only advertise as 585 and 525 average. The sears is different from any available in the market. There is no weakess link on the design. It is not the most beautifull in terms of the looks but the most durable since they are made from tools steel and hardened to resist wear and tear. It will be the last one that will break in an upgraded gun or not at all. Bottom line is, Ben and I are here for the support. Ed This post has been edited by EdGI: Jun 16 2008, 08:47 PM |

I am looking to upgrade my JG BAR-10. What is an estimate of how much the upgrade set StealthySniper was talking about would cost, including the bucking and EdGI kit?
