ok, I picked up a battery charger at a yard sale. it is a NIKKO charger. the out put is 6volts and 300mA. now the battery is 8.4 volts. the charger does not fit the battrey perfect but it will if I make it. now my dad says don't do it because it will train the battery to only take 6 volts. I just want to make sure because I don't want to spend $15 on a charger if I don't have to.

Yeah, don't take that risk and just get a good charger, you can probably get a normal one for about $10 or even less for a used one.
