BioS’ Guide to a Better Game

Speed Techniques
One thing that helped me the most was to set up a bunker (about the same height as the ones at local field) and then a few targets different heights and sizes and all over the backyard (I’d say around 5 targets) then duck behind the bunker. Pop up and shoot a target as fast as you can. Duck back down. Choose a different target. Shoot it. Duck down. Then pop up and shoot all of your targets as fast as you can and duck back down. If u do this long enough and as many different ways as fast as you can you will increase your snap shooting.
)) To become less vulnerable, make sure every time you pop out to shoot a target, pick a different spot of the bunker to come out of. You will have the ability to become spontaneous and it will become harder and harder to get a clean shot on you. ((

Shooting Techniques
This is hard to do, but you must learn to steady your gun! There are 2 principles to understand how to steady this. First: Understanding that every position you find yourself in has different angles. Thus given, every angle you are in, you need to steady your gun a different way. Second: prone, crouch, crouch-walking, walking, running, scaling. They all are different levels of steady.
Prone: Very Steady
Crouch: Steady Enough
Crouch-Walking: Steady
Walking: Semi Steady
Scaling: Steady depending on angle
Running: Very Unsteady

Practice diving for cover
++WARNING and DISCLAIMER: This is only a recommendation. It is not near required to get better. It just makes it all more fun to ‘dive for cover’. Also could be dangerous in different situations. Don’t try to slide or dive into a place with thorns, sharp sticks, rocks, etc… ++
Go to a baseball field (Or your backyard) and first practice sliding on your butt (without your gun). Practice these on both grass and dirt. Then practice with your gun so you learn how to avoid it from hitting the ground. Doing this with your gun would be recommended in your backyard or more secluded area.

Awareness
Being aware of not only yourself, but of everything and everyone around you is crucial for survival. Listen for crackling leaves, branches, or any other sound in general. Be aware that you may not see them where as they can see you, or vice versa. If you find cover, be aware that a leg or arm or your head might be poking out the side. And while moving, remember that you may already be in someone’s crosshairs.

Practice silence
Part 1
Simple. Just go around your house hiding behind corners, moving as silently as possible. I have said this on several occasions and I will repeat myself because this is a large factor of being found.

Part 2
Humans have very developed eyes that have the capability to figure out where things are, and base an understanding of our surroundings. But when an opponent is wearing camo. and hidden under brush or a guillie suit, it makes them quite hard to find. What can we do about this? Look for the next best thing: Movement. Yes that’s right; movements catch our attention quite easily (And sound). Search for movement. And when someone is around you, slow your breathing and STOP MOVING. This cannot be practiced, but I want you to know this for future engagement.

Gun Aim
Find the most comfortable position you like you gun in and just shoot shoot shoot. Go longer distances and practice snap shooting. The only way to get better is to constantly practice aiming and snap shooting. Something to always remain the same is the hop-up. Find a good accurate spot, and do not touch it again. This will affect your aiming and shooting.

If you can’t stand waiting in one spot for more than 30 minutes, pick a different role.

Shoot N’ Run
Another thing you should master is the Shoot N' Run. That's pretty self-explanatory. This would be good for the Assault or ‘Front-man’. On a fairly large strip of land set up about 3-4 targets.
(HINT==Time yourself on the first go-around to see if you’re making improvement.)
Run forward at the targets and try to get as many as possible while running at them. Practice this multiple times and even time yourself each one. Then after you’ve gotten forward motion down, set up multiple targets in every direction. (5-10 targets will do you nicely) Practice that and you’ll get quite good at moving and shooting.

What to do when you’re found
Keep your head straight. Figure out where they are by using my methods I mentioned earlier. Look for movement and base their direction off of sound of their weapons.
Check your flanks every good 1 minute, because we don’t want to get out due to a Newbie running around us. If you are going to move, always always always lay out a few rounds at them first! It scares them back under cover and keeps you out of sight. If you have an ally near or around you call him over for assistance. Wait for the enemy to do a mistake, such as; not check his flanks; run out of ammo at a bad time; think it’s still 1 v 1; etc…
If it comes down to it, wait it out. Hope Admin doesn’t mind:

It may not seem like it when you’re under cover and you hear those BB’s smash into the bunker, but it is a hell of a lot harder to hit a moving object then one staying in the same place popping out of the same place over and over.
---If you know you’re outnumbered by many, don’t be a hero; RUN YOUR BUTT OFF!!---

Tunnel Vision
Most paintballers know this and quite a few airsofters as well. Airsofters call this not checking your flanks. So… tunnel vision is easier to say. Many people get caught up in the action and just can’t look away. Or they completely forget and mismanage their time. This gets a lot of newbies and quite a few vets out. You must check your left and right flank every 30 seconds – 1 minute.

Clearing Rooms
This is hard to explain. So I’ll let my boys at the WTA help me out on this one.
http://media.putfile.com/WTA-remix1
http://media.putfile.com/Boomremix1

When entering a room via door you need to understand a few things. First there is no telling what is behind that door; no one, 2 people, 27 people, you name it. Second is a requirement of at least 3-6 people help open this door. One viewing each angle. You preparing to open the door and look through the open door at your angle. Other person viewing directly into the room. And the third person looking at the angle facing opposite to you. It will look something like this (5 people):

-What do you do in a bad situation?
RUN RUN and RUN!! No use in trying to take something on and you don’t know how.

-You find a loser that doesn’t call his hits?
Light em’ up! If he doesn’t call after a good 6 shots to any part of the body, call a Ref or Authority.

If you’re playing in a ‘non-secure’ area (please don’t), with no Ref’s or authorities, then call a time out. When everyone is gathered and wondering why you stopped their fire fights, tell them what you think happened and call a parlay. This is just a parenthesis in your game. You and the person you think you shot will have a quick 1 on 1, which will last 1 minute. No longer. If no one gets out in that designated time, then you’re both out. Sucks? Then don’t stop the game.

-You got shot?
Call the hit, take it like a man, and be a GREAT (not just good) sport about it.

-Safety Procedures:
Short read, but will save your life. Play safe please! If you choose not to play safe, don’t play at all.

Good luck out there and Happy Hunting,
Sincerely,
BioS

Pretty good, but the room clearing part was lacking a lot.

We need to all get our head together for a good way to do it for airsoft.
(Anyone wanna be a part of a group to figure ut these problems?)

and the sniper guide you linked to is pretty awful
