I found a nice little Scorpion in Evike's boneyard for $30. Emailed them if it comes with anything aka mag, battery, etc. He/she/it emailed back saying that they basically don't know what will be sent with it. There is a chance that I can get lucky and get a working gun without the mag and battery or I will get screwed with just the gun, broken. Has anyone bought any boneyard items from them and they came out O.K? Is it worth the time playing around with it and spending the $30? If I do get it, where do I even start trying to figure out what's broken with it? Plug in a fully charged battery and see what happens? Crack open the gear box and see if the gears are stripped?

Boneyards are hit and miss. Basically, if you aren't sure you can fix it, if it is broken, don't buy it. Go get a good used one from someone, less chance of a DoA gun. I've bought KWAs for 150 that had nothing wrong, an m24 with a bent piston, an ACR with a broken stock, mp7 with just china problems all over it and some others I don't remember. Most of the time if its internal, its not too hard to fix, if its external, it may be very broken and ultimately very difficult to fix. I guess you could just duct tape it together...... heh, now there's an idea, an AEG made out of ductape. I'll build one.
