While working on my GBB pistols the other day, I came to wondering whether the butane sold at gas stations for refilling lighters could be used in a gas gun? Does anyone have an answer or experience with attempting this?

I tried it and did not have any problems. However, you may want some more input before you do this, because I'm sure you don't want to mess up your gun.

Butane is a really weak gas, much much weaker than every other gas made for airsoft.

I thought it might be, given its chemical composition and the Gas Laws, however I'm really just using it to test the hermetic seal on newly repaired mag valves, so nothing too potent is needed.

Btw thanks to those responses I've gotten so far, they are much appreciated.
