Simple question for the right person please.
How does a CASV handguard attach to the upper receiver? I own a G&G m4 (GR16) full metal and I'm pretty sure the top rail is part of the upper receiver. How then, does the rail of a CASV, go on it? Rail on Rail? It's just a notice two bolt screws going all the way through most CASV (take the King Arms CASV-M for example). I don't get how these bolts would go through my upper receiver, or on my rails. What am I missing? Probably a dumb simple answer but I appreciate anyone's help. It's annoying how little information the manufacturers often have. I'm looking at getting either the King Arms CASV-M or cheaper alternatives (as there are much cheaper options around), although I'll get the king arms if its in stock somewhere :) Best, Coops. |

The CASV engages in the delta ring assembly (it's one of a relatively few free-floats that still uses the delta assembly) and then the top rail extending back from it fits on top of the rail that is part of the top of the upper receiver. Rail on rail. Just like any accessory that you bolt on the rail, that has a picatinny base, save that all that there is, is another rail (on the CASV), so you can in turn mount accessories on that. Same principle as rail risers.
