READ IT. LEARN IT. IGNORE IT AND YOU HAVE A HIGH CHANCE OF GETTING SHOT BY A REAL GUN.

Note by Aimfor1337 and ASF Staff:

We here at ASF and this airsoft community cannot stress how IMPORTANT it is that you play at a safe and sanctioned field. (Sanctioned means that it is dedicated and designed for a specific use; Law enforcement officials generally are alerted when games happen.) The above link consists of a story on how a 13 yearold boy RECENTLY (this last weekend) was near fatally shot by an LAPD police officer for wielding a 9mm baretta M9 look-alike.

The boy refused to come out from cover; and wielded the weapon in plain police officer view. This lead to them near fatally shooting this child. Backyard airsoft is something that goes un-noticed and un-punished. Backyard airsoft is considered playing or wielding an airsoft replica in the public eye view. If anyone besides the players on your team; field officials; or you can SEE your weapon; ITS BACKYARD AIRSOFTING. This includes playing in an enclosed privacy fenced-in yard. Why? Because people from above grade (above first floor; or 6-12 ft above the street; the height of privacy fences generally) Can see you.

I'd like to go over a few rules/protocol to follow if you do in fact get stopped or questioned by an officer of the law; or any city/public official for that matter:

1) FREEZE.
2) NO SUDDEN MOVEMENTS; LEO ARE TRAINED TO REACT BEFORE YOU DO.
3) HANDS UP; ESPECIALLY IF THE PERSON IS A LEO; THEY WILL MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE THEIR HOLSTER UN-SNAPPED OR GUN TRAINED.
4) COMPLY WITH THE ORDERS GIVEN. DO NOT RUN; DO NOT DUCK.
5) IF THE ORDERS INCLUDE DROPPING YOUR $550.00 AEG OR GBB; DO IT. (Is your life worth 550.00?)
6) Calmly and Peacefully explain what you're doing; that the weapon is NOT real; and where you got it.

IF YOU'RE AFRAID OF PUNISHMENT

Don't be. Most LEO will either escort you home; or hold the weapon for you until you are back into your home/parents hands. A scolding is MUCH better than 30 days in the ICU in critical condition while you eat applesauce through a straw and urinate in a bag (don't forget spongebaths)

ALSO: If you follow the aforementioned rules 1-6; you'll save yourself and ESPECIALLY the officer or public official involved a LOT of harassment and embarrassment. Officers... they have to do a LOT of paperwork just for pulling someone over. Figure how much they have to do; for shooting a child; that was essentially wielding a piece of plastic. < MONTHS OF FRUSTRATION. Refer to post #3; by OPSIC66.

Please; take the time to read this post. If you would like to add any experiences or rules; please post below. All comments are accepted. Any questions? PM me direct or catch me on AOL at Airsofttech.

The best way I can describe it is you're a single core processor trying to pretend to be a dual core via hyper-threading.
