NEXT TIME ANYBODY HAS A POINTLESS JG BAR-10 QUESTION PLEASE REFER THEM TO THIS GUIDE
After receiving countless pm's about the bar-10 and many careless threads with questions about it I have devised this compilation of all important JG bar-10 info http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums/index.php?topic=49694.0[/quote] Ahh yes that's right I forgot that it was Identical to the well... anyways as for upgrades, here is 500 fps for free http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums/index.php?topic=35488.0 The first things I reccomend you get are a Firelfy Hopup Bucking and a pdi tightbore (6.05) You asked the right person, the bar-10 is the best gun you can buy for the money at the moment and here is a guide to the gun. You can get 500+ fps for free by cutting the airbrake, teflon taping the cylinder head threads and outside of the inner barrel where the hopup bucking slips on... also here is my bar-10 (needs to be bumped so comment if you like :)... It has a synthetic rubberized stock that feels amazing. The first upgrades you would want to invest in are a new barrel and a new hopup bucking. A nineball or firefly bucking should do the trick and they are pretty cheap (poweredgeusa.com). Next you want a tightbore barrel which could cost $50-180 depending on what you want to go with. The cheapest and most popular is the deescustoms barrel for the vsr-10 (deescustoms.com), Edgi from the phillipines sells a great thick barrel that reduces vibrations because of it's thickness thus increasing accuracy but since you have to ship it from the phil's shipping costs are bad... The last and most accurate barrels come from PDI which sells cold rolled laser cut steel barrels (lol) and provide the most accuracy however they are very expensive (upwards of $120 depending on which version). There is debate going on about the three barrel sizes. So far what we have concluded is that the 6.01mm barrel provides the most power, the 6.05mm barrel provides the most accuracy, and the 6.03mm is the best balance between the two... here is a cleaning guide to the bar-10 that is critical to getting the most out of your gun. One more thing to note is that any upgrade part you see for the vsr-10 will work with the bar-10 so just do a search on google or something. It screws on and off so no problem, as for upgrades that gun is a beast and should withstand extensive shooting but if you run into any problems (which you shouldn't) the sears are most likely the first problems to arise. Going into spring upgrades you would first want to purchase a zero trigger ($170-180), reinforced sears ($30), nineball/firefly hopup bucking ($12), Spring ($12), Cylinder head ($25), tightbore barrel ($50-160), spring guide ($25), and piston (comes with zero trigger package)... All of these can be found on poweredgeusa.com and airsoftextreme.com The upgrades in bold are the first ones you want for accuracy and therefore best! ss You do not want to put teflon on the nozzle, it will just wear off and is inneffective... What your suppose to do is tape it on the threads of the cylinder head (make sure to tape it in the opposite direction of the threading) so that it seals any miniscule leaks in the cylinder. Also wrap a light layer around the barrel where the hopup bucking slips onto, Do not tape over the hole on the barrel right after that part... this is useful http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums/index.php?topic=35488.0 Holy crap this is the coolest thing ever CLICK http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/index.ph...;#entry17589181 BUT WAIT THIS IS COOLER http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/Digicamo-Rifle-t97482.html Here is a pm I just sent shirk which doesn't answer all your questions but should help alot... One more thing to note is that any upgrade part you see for the vsr-10 will work with the bar-10 so just do a search on google or something. thanks to tcf for the guides and me! First thing to do would be a little research on this topic... However the utg mk96 is a terrible upgrade base seeing as the parts are very expensive and it is very junky compared to the jg bar-10. The bar-10 is compatible with all vsr-10 parts and is the best rifle for the price that's out at the moment. With only 5 cents of DIY upgrades you can be shooting in the 507 (chronoed) range. Here is The crimson Falcon's guide to the jg bar-10 on ASR and shows in detail the potential in stock form. Chris from here at ASF just posted a great guide for vsr-10 parts and upgrades. You could do all of us a favor by using the great search feature of the site! Want pictures of the bar-10? HEY hey look what I found! ANOTHER THREAD EXACTLY LIKE THIS ONE, please read through every post on it carefully ss The Jing Gong (Golden Bow) BAR-10 is the latest bolt-action sniper rifle (BASR) out of China. It is a full VSR-10 clone, and is definitely the all-around best budget rifle available. The cylinder is openable, and does not require pins to be drilled out, and it has the best finish of any of the budget rifles. The stock is durable ABS plastic with a rubbery finish that's absurdly comfortable to hold, it's a bit heavier than the MP001 or USR-11, and is well balanced. It also has a slightly different bolt-handle that's a bit more comfortable and sturdy-feeling than the VSR-10 handle, and (aside from the safety switch) is made from strong, durable materials. The only issue is that the magazine release is liable to pop out when you remove the barrel assembly from the stock, so you should put some tape over the release button before you take it out to prevent it from popping out. Be sure not to lose the spring. Stock performance is superb, matched only by the AtoZ and KA SVD's both of which have 450+ fps stock springs and tightbore barrels. This gun shoots about 390 fps stock, but with 5 minutes of work and a little electrical tape, it can be modified to shoot over 500 fps stock (shorten the airbrake and electrical tape the cylinder head nozzle). With it's superior performance and the fact that it has better finish than any other budget rifle (and comparable finish to high-end rifles), this gun is clearly the best budget spring sniper rifle you can buy. It comes in two forms, the non-scoped version with iron sights, and the scoped version, with a scope mount and JG scope (some reports indicate a Tasco, others suggest it's a JG scope that isn't great. Pricing runs in between 90 and 160 shipped. It is also a JG gun, so QC is likely to be very good. http://groups.google.com/group/asgar/web/s...s--new-releases *edit* needs refining before official guide is completed... ss This post has been edited by admin: Mar 1 2008, 12:06 PM
