This is very, very good. I will see that a Mod takes a look at this to see if it gets pinned or not. We are in search of such threads for "pinnage".

Thank you. I tried to keep it simple yet detailed, I can only hope it helps some people, I know I would have appreciated a guide like this when I first got mine.

The biggest strike against it is picture quality. Too close, too blurry, dark, etc. But I suppose that that can be overlooked unless someone else makes a guide that greatly improves upon the subject. Function over style.

Out of the 32 pictures, only 6 seemed too blurry or dark to the point that they could impare ones use, and as far as close, I think in a take down of a pistol a close up is much, much better than a full shot, but that's just my opinion. Perhaps when I do the takedown of the hop up and blow back assemblies I will retake the overly blurry or dark pictures...

I've been working on my photography skills a bit lately, as they've slipped a bit since I quit street racing and don't go to car shows as much over the last couple years(and since my old roommate accidently moved with my nice camera in his trunk and then had his car reposessed), but I figured in this application it was more improtant to just take the pictures while I did it and try not to get side tracked and take artistic pictures and end up taking hours when it should only take a matter of minutes, lol.
The other night out of boredom I took over 100 pictures... I need to start sleeping like normal people. Then I'd have had better lighting too, instead of a lamp. -------------------- yepseeya,

sorry mate, but I don't think there's enough descriptions of the steps. a short sentence per picture doesn't really cut it

sorry mate, but I don't think there's enough descriptions of the steps. a short sentence per picture doesn't really cut it and all the pictures are too close up. As I said before a close up seems (at least to me) more helpfull than a full shot that you can hardly see what the important part is. If you don't know what the picture is of, then you may want someone else to work on it for you. Also, just let me know what you would need help with as far as a better desctiption, I'd be glad to add to it as long as it doesn't seem redundant. Not to mention it seems to me that if you can't figure it out from the directions and pictures there's a good possibility that you shouldn't be taking you gun down by yourself. I'm not trying to be rude, I'd just like to know more on where added details are needed, if I felt it needed more I would have added it... so whatever others need explained I'll need to know so I can add it. -------------------- yepseeya,

Oh, I don't have a WE 1911, so I'm not asking for any specific advice on takedown. Sometimes, it's TOO close up...and sometimes you can't tell what section of the gun you're working on. what's MSH? what are cotter pins? What's the spring housing? what's a sear? HOW do you take these parts out? you have good step-by-step instructions, but they need more descriptions, meaning that they should tell the reader HOW to carry out the step, not just what they should do. Can this be applied to dismantle any GBB or daisy bb gun, not using the exact method but similar?

I know this is an older topic but I just wanted to say thank you for this. I was bored tonight and decided to totally desassemble my WE 1911 tactical. Well...a few springs jumped out, didn't know where they went and I found this. I never would have figured out taking off the spring housing. As for some people saying the pictures are too close, if you have taken apart a WE 1911 everything looks familiar and the pics are of great help. Not too close, not too far. Just right

I have a WE 1911 myself and those pictures are great.
It's probably one of the best 100$ pistols. This post has been edited by Gisle Aune: Feb 10 2010, 02:46 PM |
