Well D91 Uzi Review

By TriggerHappy

Manufactured by Well

Model: D91Uzi

Specifications

Fps- 200+

Motor- Cheap Chinese Electric

Weight- 1.7 lb (28.4 oz) unloaded w/battery. Battery weighs 5 oz.

Version- HopUp

Accessories Needed to Run - small rechargeable battery and charger (included)

I finally received my Uzi about 4 days ago. The UPS guy came up to my front door and dropped it off. I immediately tore open the box and took my first look my new Well D91 Uzi. At first I thought the body was made of metal because of the way the paint looked. However, I knew that a gun that only runs at about 30-40 dollars tops couldn't be metal exterior and only limited in the interior. After pulling it out and giving it a thorough inspection for any defects or shipping damage I decided to test it. I looked at the instructions however they didn't tell me anything and actually happened to belong to another gun Well makes, the P90. I did enjoy reading it though.... it was like a comic book; there were all sorts of spelling and other errors. Below is my favorite part.

You'd think at least someone over in China knows English.

Anyway I got the gun and loaded it with the bbs that came with it. As you can see below they are of only moderate quality compared to some of the other junk I've seen in starter bb packs before.

I wasn't sure if the battery would be charged, but I figured it probably was. I connected it and fired a few rounds at my pillow, watching them bounce off and plink around the room. I then decided to see how the foldable stock worked. After extending it and feeling it against my shoulder I decided it was not very strong. I think I won't use it to much since it really doesn't help you aim or any thing like that and I doubt it could take very tough abuse on the battlefield. See the pictures of it that follow.

Next I started sifting thru and checking out all the accessories and stuff that come with it. This included the battery, charger, starter pack of BBs, unjammer stick, and a sling. The sling is something I'll never use due to my fighting tactics. One thing I find unexplainable is how long the battery takes to charge. The charger has a light that turns red when I plug it in with the battery. The longest I've let it charge was about 5 hours. I think the light is probably supposed to turn green, but I haven't seen it do so yet. Here are photos of the all the accessories except for the unjammer stick, which is just a 17 and a half inch long solid plastic tube.

After shooting it for a couple of days I decided to get inside it and show you its inner workings. I had a bit of trouble getting it to come apart and almost broke it, but I finally managed to do so. The gun is simple and has an aluminum barrel (one of few metal components). The gearbox and motor are encased in clear see-thru plastic and the gears have some grease on them. As is clearly seen, you get what you pay for.

Overall I think this airsoft gun is pretty decent for the price. The accuracy is so and so. It fires at about 350 rounds per minute. The magazine is easy to load as you only need a bottle with speed loader cap to fill it up quickly. The only major problem is that it tends to dry fire a lot because it doesn't always catch the bbs if held in a certain way. I have found that by holding it with nose pointing slightly up this problem goes away. I plan to post a video of it in action soon, along with further updates.

Hehe seeing this review brings back good memories, the D91 was my very first airsoft gun. Good times, back in the day when my friends and I would all run around with LPEGs, shooting at each other. Still got mine, sitting in it's box under my bed.

Props for a nice review, and very fine photography. Makes the gun look metal and much higher quality than it is.
