This is a review on the popular Dragon series by WE Tech.
Packaging: The gun came in a bendy plastic case, covered by some foam. WE was sort of stingy on the foam there... Next to the gun lies a hex key, bag of bb's and a magazine. The gun looks good, even with the orange tip on (which is nigh unremovable). Looks: There are two versions of the dragon, the 1(a) or 2(b). I think I have the 1. It has four ovular cuts in the front sight and a split side. I suppose it's meant to reduce slide weight. The WE logo is on the grip. Also, there are no trademarks. Feel: The dragon is about 90% metal, although I can't say the metal quality is very good. When shooting the front sight (which is seperate from the slide) often comes loose and must be tightened with the hex key. The slide does rattle from side to side, and can't be fixed. The magazine is nice and heavy, full metal. I have heard many complaints about the magazine leaking, but mine has yet to do that. And yes, the Dragon does take red gas (I've tried it. WOW). The grip is very comfy on your hand and lets your hand get a nice grip. Not to wide, not to thin. Durability: This is the neat part of the gun: it's hard to break. Although it has many faults, everything is metal except for the grip. The magazine has been dropped many times and still feeds like it did when it came. The gun still shoots and the hop-up works well. Build: The Dragon (and WE in general) has a sketchy build. My gas poofer thing (don't know the name. It's the piece that shoots compressed air onto the BB.) has been loose from day one and slides back and forth. The Dragon doesn't always shoot the BB, so then you have to recock it, which sucks in battle. The quality can never compare to WA guns. The slide often doesn't catch. Performance: Average. Looks is the main selling point of the Dragon. I poor man chronoed it around 300 fps. Like I said, it has problems shooting towards the end of a magazine so watch out for that. The accuracy though, is quite good stock. I actually put a TM barrel in today, which has a much tighter bore. The blowback is decent, I guess. WA guns has better blowback, but remember that they cost twice as much. But this review is on propane. On red gas, this thing is a MONSTER. The fps is around 350 and it goes 120 feet with decent accuracy. The recoil kicks back hard for an airsoft gun. But this wears down on the gun so red gas is for games only. EDIT: Thank you Green giant for pointing out Dragons are MASSIVE gas hogs. 1 clip/fill if your lucky. Field Strip Time!: The field stripping on this gun sucks. I will tell you the beggining of the process. First, take of the front sight. Now pull the slide back until then slide release lever is lined of the the small notch. Push on the bump on the other side and use something flat and hard to pry the lever out. This has taken 15 minutes if you are alone. Now slide the slide off. Good. NOW YOU CAN ADJUST THE HOP-UP. This is horrible. It takes forever to adjust the hop-up. This is only half of the dissasembly. There is a dissasembly video on google. Type in "WE Hi-Capa". Overall: The Dragon is a very good mid-price gun. Better than plastic glocks, not even close to WA. It is very good for someone who can't spend the money for WA, but wants a decent gun. When you buy this, make sure you know you basic parts on a GBB for troubleshooting. P.S. The manual sucks. Hope This Helped! I'm a newbie, what does PM mean on the forum. Post Message? EDIT: Got it If someone could post pictures for me, that'd be great. I'm terrible at uploading stuff. This post has been edited by slicedham: Aug 19 2006, 01:14 PM -------------------- Breathe out.

Yep major gas hog, also, it's not that hard to take off the slide you just need a flat-head screwdriver on you. What I do is I just push the slide release lever on the right side so it juts out a bit and use the screwdriver to pry it off, it's pretty easy. But you're right it is still a pain to have to go through all that just to adjust the hop-up.

Go on google images and get a pic of the gun, How accurate it shoots at a target from various distances. Pics of this would be helpful. And anything else you can think of

I have The same gun and it broke within 2 days of having it. the bb jamed and the blow back smached two bbs to gether causing the loading rod to bend and then break off later. now it is being repaired other than that this gun is a beast and I recomend more magazines cause u only get one full clip of gas whch sucks when ur on the field and u don't want to carry around gas all the time. I use propane so I don't really want to carry a tank evry where I go. propane seems to work amazing except for the trail of smell which your enemies can follow for miles. the sound is amazing I play across a huge pond about a mile from my house and my friends said they could here me popin off shots and from a distant it sounds like a .22

This is why I was told to just get the clone versions, same quality, just slightly more rough but half the price. However, I have switched to TM mags and well, TM clone mags which isn't a hassle and problematic as the WE ones.
