Well I'm 17 and the CadPat I ordered a while back just got here from Canada today. When I fit it on it was a little to large for me, but the following test proved it to be just as effective (if not more so) as I thought it might be. The camo consists of a CadPat jumpsuit, or flightsuit, if you will, and a CadPat boonie hat. I also had a OD/Black shemagh around my neck and mouth. Okay, the test now:

I walked out in the aformentioned loadout (no gun mind you) into my backyard and looked for some light foliage. My dad would be arriving home from work soon as I get home a little earlier from school. So I lay prone in some very LIGHT foliage. There were very few leaves but just enough for a little cover.

I got a lot of bug bites just waiting for him...
He finally got home and I called for him.
"Dad!"
"Dad!"
"Where are you?"
He finally figured out that I was in the backyard from my calls. He walked around the backyard several times and even went back into the house twice. When he got my general location he walked within 6'-7' of me twice. I wish I had a camera to show you guys how little of cover I really had. Eventually I just stood up and even had to call myself out for him to see me.

Now my dad isn't stupid and he's pretty observant. Had he been really looking for me (scanning the brush, like in real airsoft games) he probably would've seen me. But on the same token, I would have purposely chosen better cover.

I've heard several people say that CadPat is too light or something of the sort. The point is this:
1. CadPat only works well with at least a mild amount of vegetation that is green.
2. It works much better than regular issue BDUs (MarPat vs. Cadpat is stupid because MarPat is essentially just more brown and darker.)
3. When paired with green vegetation you will be INVISIBLE.

I just wanted to share that little afternoon test with you guys. Tell me what you think.

I like CADPAT, and I would not heistate to beleive you on the effectiveness of it. But as a personal camoflauge BDU, it's WAY too dependent on there being green in the near environment to work. If you put that stuff anywhere brownish, like on the ground in the forest, it will only make you stand out more. Now, as you say, if you put it anywhere in front of, beheind, inside, or undernearth green foliage, you will probaly simply dissapear.

PS, I think CADPAT is probaly too dark if anything, not too light.
