I ordered my G&G m14 last week and it should be here by tuesday or wednsedsay. Im going to try and build it to be effective at around 250ft. here is the list

I too am in the process of upgrading my CYMA M14 SOCOM but so far some of my parts haven't arrived yet.

Anyway, here's what it looks like...





I will be using an SP140 spring for this setup just to make sure my stock gearbox will not break.

Surely you plan on new bushings and a reshim...?

This will be a must since my bushings are totally crap (5.97mm instead of 6mm) and it wobbles a lot. I hope that the G&G M14 that sergeantsnipes will be receiving will have nice bushings on them.

Of course on the re shim when I get the guarder torque up gears since G&G has a very nice factory shim job and the G&G has solid bushings already and 8mm bearings on the sector gear so there is really no need for different bushings.

Shredder your m14 looks sexy lol. I wish that the G&G's could fit the cheap external parts the cyma could. a bunch of my friends are getting m14's now to and they are all getting cymas and a rail unit for under 200$. I really wish I could fit the 50$ cyma ris but I have to settle for the 140$ G&G m14 ras unit lol

Whoa, $50 cyma rail mount? I went to ASGI and got my CYMA rail mount for only $14 last month!

Hell my upgraded M14 with red/green dot scope and accuracy upgrades and a new spring with an accurate 230' range cost me only $250.

Best gun I ever owned.

Edit* I just seen you typed RIS not RAIL. I sorry. The CYMA RAIL mount is only $14

and the scope mounts are cheaper to lol the cheapest one for the G&G is the G&P which you can make fit for 35$

Update:

My parts will be arriving tomorrow and I was informed that the Guarder ITU gears will not fit a CYMA v7 gearbox unless part of it is removed. Anyway, I will provide some "before and after" pics.

Lucky lol my gun doesnt get here till wednseday and I cant actually get the gears and things till after christmas lol

Hey Snipes, I got some bad news for you buddy. You won't be able to use both the RIS and the G&P scope mount. They both use the same mounting hole. I had to hang up my G&G RIS when I got my scope.

If you want to use the RIS and put a scope on it far back enough to use both scope rings, you'll need to get this

Unfortunately, the only one Ive found is on Fulton Armory website and its $60 for real steel M1A and M14s.

Also, if you get a Harris type bipod like mine, you'll need to dremel out a little in the front of the stock to get the mounting unit to sit flush. I'll get pictures up later. Any other questions just gimme a holler.


But other than that, that build looks great! Just like mine, except I'm using Element gears. I actually switched back to my stock G&G 6.035 barrel and it seems to be more consistant than the Edgi...I'm not sure why. I use Madbull .36s and get amazing range.

Lol thanks. I'll probably end up forgetting the ris rails since they ate so expensive. Btw how do u like your MOSFET I'm probably goi g to toss one on a little later on. Now just for my gun to get here but have to wait till tommorrow even though it's 45 mins from my house

MOSFET works great. Its a little pain in the arse getting everything back in the stock with all the wiring and whatnot.

Ill end up getting one of those a little later on. I just want to get it shooting up to the fps and range I want first then I will put in the mosfet.
BTW what is your effective range on your gun?

It was 200ft with the M130 and .28s, should be 225-250 with the M150 and .36s, I havent gotten a chance to measure on flat terrain yet.

sweet. Im either gonna use a m140 or 150 and get some madbull bb's. Thats weird that your edgi barrel was inconsistent. the one im running in my m4 gives me amazing consistancy at a pretty good range of 150ft. At 100ft I only get 1-2 fliers and the best groupings ive gotten were a 3in grouping(indoors) with a scs/systema combo

It wasn't that it was inconsistent....but the BB's would veer off to the left a lot. I think it had a lot to do with the notches on the side of the barrel being cut too deep and it was super easy to have the barrel rotate thus causing the nub to sit to the left/right. The barrel was too long anyways, I'd feel more comfortable without it coming out of the flash hider like in the picture.

ya that is one problem I have with my edgi barrel it doesnt always want to go in the hop up unit with the bucking on

I'm gonna place my CYMA M14 DMR project on hold for the mean time. Due to my ignorance, I ordered the wrong parts and I need to save money in order for me to get the proper parts.

I ordered a Guarder ITU long motor and it should have been the short type. I also ordered a Deepfire enlarged brass ASN for my Guarder M14 cylinder head instead of the normal/standard version. There's more... I also ordered a Deepfire full Titanium teeth piston and I need the half-teeth type for my Guarder ITU gear set...

I'm quite stressed out lately and I keep on making mistakes and decisions. I'm gonna rest for a while and recuperate.

Update:
My gun got here this afternoon and was waiting for me when I pulled into my driveway. I opened up the box and was very happy. After looking at it for a while I realized that there are a lot of things on the gun that are very wobbly like the selector switch and the trigger assembly is a pain to get back in the first time. I loaded up my mag to shoot the gun and I pulled the trigger and the gun cycled but didnt shoot. I took out the mag and it wasnt feeding untill I took it apart and cleaned it. This was kind of disapointing lol. When I finally did shoot it with the little daylight I had left it was very accurate and the ROF was pretty insane. Very happy with the performance, not as happy with the externals and mag

Edit: I fiddled around with the externals and they are more solid now and not so wobbly. Only the bolt mechanism is a little wobbly and the heat shield

I got my systema bucking and SCS and got them installed. Way to windy today for groupings so I will have some groupings up by tommorrow

update: ordered my parts tonight. should be here next week some time and then I can post some groupings.

I too am working on a M14 sniper, and currently have an Echo 1 Socom 16, so not a great gun but hey, it'll work when upgraded. But, I'm looking for a long top rail for mounting a scope, and can NOT find one anywhere. Do you know anywhere to find them? I'm also for now gonna go with a tighter longer barrel, and a hop up bucking combo set. Any other suggestions on internals?

Notice that this kit also gives you the small piece of rail that fits on to the front of the rear sight. This is important, because if you're mounting a scope (rather than a red dot) it needs to be mounted further back on the gun because of eye relief issues.

If you're just mounting a scope and not other accessories too, you might consider something like this:

(As far as I know, the Echo I is a rebranded Cyma, so this should be a good fit.)

Cyma makes a cheap scope mount for 14$ for tm clones. Doesn't work on the g&g

Please continue updating this thread? We have practically the same build and range and accuracy goals. Only diffrence being I have an AR platform and I've been upgrading steadily over the years. Just want to compare results if thats alright

Ok, maybe after taking it apart for the first 100 or so times it's hard but after that it's easy! haha

No just make sure to take it apart on a vinyl or wood floor because it has so many springs holding it together it's not even funny. If you don't work in a bright open space, you will lose something and be a very angry panda..........

Ha ha I don't think the g&g has quite so many springs since the trigger isn't on the gearbox and looks a little easier to work on than the clone v7

Update: Just got my guarder infinite torque up motor. Gonna wait to install it untill I get my other parts though

How windy was the day? Was there rain? Those look almost EXACTLY like my stock CYMA m14's groupings......

How was your shooting stance? Those are some strange groupings, I figured they would be........tighter.

Yes, a bit tighter than that. I'm going to dig up my photos of my groupings and compare them with snipes. In my mini review of my M14 when I got it, I did some test shots at 150-175-200-and 250' and my groups were best at the 175' mark as they were only at 4" with G&G .25 BBs with a stock guns. Now, once he puts in the rest of the parts, it's going to skyrocket as far as range and accuracy go.

That's why I'm curious.

Now that I think of it, the more power the BB has the wilder it would go but with the systema and SCS combo, that should counter balance the wildness and send it straight and true. Mine was probably a bit more fps than the G&G model. Plus, our hop ups are a bit different so that may be the cause too.....

that was with .2g airsoft elite bb's shooting in a chair from my house with no support. there was about a 2mph cross wind. The first shot was the flyer and the rest hit the paper. Different type of hopups and I was using lighter bb's
