This past weekend (September 20, 2008) was episode 2 of Firefight!'s Yo Joe series. Lots of action and tons of fun!

After Action Report:

G.I. Joe headquarters discovered that Cobra agents purchased a farm in southwestern Pennsylvania and have been running operations from there. Cobra is up to something, but what? A small team of Joes is sent in to investigate.

The team arrives on site and they are greeted by a man that introduces himself as Sheriff Walter Sobchak. The sheriff tells the Joes that this is private property and asks them to leave. When they continue onto the farm, the sheriff again asks the Joe team to leave. He is acting slightly strange and the Joes notice he has some sort of device on his neck. It appears to be some sort of computer chip and they quickly remove it from him. Immediately, the sheriff started to feel better and he tells the Joes about the Cobras that have taken over the farm. But before he had even finished his explanation, Cobra guards started firing upon the party.

A long, vicious firefight followed among the farm buildings where several of the Joes were badly wounded and Sheriff Sobchak was killed. Eventually though, the Cobras were neutralized and the Joe team hunkered down to tend their wounded. It was discovered that one of the cobras had been carrying a notebook computer and the Joe's computer expert, DarkHelmet went to work to see what he could find. Unfortunately, on his first attempt to hack into the computer, he alerted another nearby group of Cobra to their presence and the second group of guards came in. These were taken care of easier than the first group, but still managed to inflict casualties on the Joe team.

DarkHelmet's next attempt to hack into the computer fared better and they were able to gather from emails that Destro was building some sort of dangerous robot. They had a scientist working for them at a testing facility located on the other side of the farm. Cautiously, they made their way up the steep hill that lead to the testing facility. But Cobra knew they were here now and had set an ambush near the top of the hill. With very little cover, the Joe team had to fight hard to make it to the top. But with a defiant yell of "YO JOE", they were able to push through the ambush. After taking out those guards, the Joes continued on to the testing facility.

The guards inside the facility were dispatched quickly and a small shootout with the scientist, Dr. Carter, followed. It seemed Dr. Carter had received the same treatment as Sheriff Sobchak, a small brainwashing computer chip had been placed on his neck. The Joe team removed it as Long Shot tended to the doctor's wounds.

Here, the full picture of Destro's plans became clear. Cobra, with the help of Dr. Carter, had built a robot that could generate huge earthquakes! From this location, both New York City and Washington DC could be targets for attack! The robot was already in place and almost ready to trigger a quake. The Joe team would have to hurry to shut it down.

The robot was protected by 3 sentry guns and hidden in a back field. It took some creative maneuvering, and the Joe team didn't scrape by without casualties, but they managed to take out the sentry guns. Just as they approached the robot, Destro approached. "You're too late, Joe!" he said, laughing. The Joes fired as Destro retreated, a bullet bouncing harmlessly off his metal head as he hops in his helicopter.

Grumbling over the escape of Destro, the Joes turned back to the robot and opened the trap door on top. A ladder leads down into the dark depths of the robot...

To be continued in Episode 3... (November 8th at Airsoft Assault in Pittsburgh)
