Stop rank posting in your own thread about how other people always get away with rankposting when you don't.

Here's my rec. http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.ph...oducts_id=28441 "ROCKET" 15% coupon code brings it down a further $22.50 to $127.50. Excellent deal. CYMA: yup, it's a decent gun that costs $100. What else can you say that about? The Galaxy MP5K has its supporters but I have my doubts. If someone's on a tight budget, they may not want to go up to $125 or $140, at which price point other possibilities come into play... -------------------- You can always dream.

Even if you don't get that exact gun, buy whatever battery you get from cheapbatterypacks.com, like Kav said. I just ordered one for my g36c with the same cells, it came in a week, and it really is some good stuff.

You could do the same as Verisimilitude (or Kavurcen for that matter) and get a smaller AK. Would be a lot sexier than a galaxy MP5K.

Hi guys im new to the forums and I am looking at purchasing my first gun, here is the info for the buy:
1. Price Range I can spend around 200.00 USD, could go up to 400 if it would really be worth it. 2. Play Style My play style is nothing, I would like to try airsoft one day this summer when I have some free time off work. Currently I am just buying a gun due to a fascination with CnC'ing and am planning on manufacturing several custom parts for the air rifle. 3. Play Area In my cubicle at work 4. Style Preference I would like to get a M4 of some variation first due to the fact that cnc'ing the parts will be much easier. Also I have no preference over battery/charger for I play on using a Lipo battery (have a large range, 11.1v are some of the better ones I own.) I would also like to have a suppressor for the gun but I have no problem buying that separate (Would like to have as a actual model to get measurements off of since I am still not a pro at fabricating custom parts) Thanks guys! PS. I would like for the gun to be "All metal" as they say, I was looking at the D-boys RAS II and was about to order it when I realized it was out of stock :-( |

Friend of mine wants me to ask, so I will. We play normally in urban/field environments. He has around 400 dollars to spend and his playing style is pretty versatile.
He was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on these two guns (listed below) and perhaps if they had any other recommendations: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=4121 http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=3414 |

Also one more question, do KWA's come able to be connected to a two point sling? Also they have a CCW thread, right (If they come with their own flash hider then I suppose this question is null)?

You may find it difficult to locate one in stock until supplies replenish within the next few weeks. http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.ph...oducts_id=32091 http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?...roducts_id=5151 You could also look at something like this (varIous variants): http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/ProductDet...de=RK-08S-STEEL but personally I'd try and track down the Cyma. -------------------- You can always dream.

Sorry for the slightly nooby question but who makes the best G36 bodies? I'm looking for: 1. Total compatibility with replacement internal parts, since this thing would be nearly entirely gutted and replaced with different internals, and 2. Durable body. I don't care at all about internals, I'm just looking for a durable body that's totally compatible with replacements.
I've heard Ares, Kwa, Star, and SRC 3 make great bodies, and I know Ares and I think Star use nylon fiber/zinc alloy. I've heard there were compatibility issues w/ SRC Gen 2, but I'm not sure if these carried over to gen 3. Also that Kwa's internals are great but the body is not as good as those alternatives. While I am looking for the G36 (long), I would be fine with a smaller c/k version and conversion kit from the same company. Would I need anything besides the handguard and inner & outer barrels? Edit: Well from what I've seen it seems star and ares are probably the best g36's and are about the same but the star is more expensive. And also, can I trust ehobbyasia as much as other local places like ASGI? I know quite a few people here buy from them. I've only seen the ares at 3 stores and they're all sold out :/ This post has been edited by Sansari: Mar 13 2010, 02:26 PM |

If you're talking about the body itself, Army Code (if you can find one, look how much KingKrispy's been having LOL).
For a full AEG, look at the ARES for externals. If you don't care about trademarks or build material, and just want a solid, well-performing gun, go for a KWA. Oh, and HK retailers > ALL. US retailers seem to lack that certain desire to satisfy customers that every single other company in any other industry from napkins to resorts all have. At least Hong Kong knows that customers are where they get their money, and satisfied, happy, loyal customers mean more money. eHobby in particular has great customer service, great prices, and faster shipping than most US retailers (lolirony). The Stars are long gone (discontinued) though you might find the odd example on a website.
The Ares are also supposed to be discontinued--temporarily, because they're about to be replaced by a set of G36 blowback models, as yet unreleased. The last time I looked on ehobby, I could only find an Ares SL-9. Again, you may find the odd example on some website--like the G36c on ASGI. SRC Gen III are indeed supposed to have great bodies--there was a guy on youtube going into positive rhapsodies about his Gen III, but there are still some issues with the hop-up unit, and if you change it out, you also have to change the magwell, or do a DIY feeding-tube fix. Perhaps if you're gutting that isn't an issue. +1 re. the KWA, but of course KWA doesn't make any after-market parts to convert the c to a k or an e. Depending on what you end up with, you may want (or need) to change out the carrying handle too, besides the parts you mention. So right now with the Ares situation there's a bit of a lull in the action. I'd recommend looking a bit more as what's available in the handguard, etc. after-market, as by the sound of things that may determine the brand you end up buying. -------------------- You can always dream.

The KWA is compatible with any handguards and outer barrels from what I've seen, my friend who has one bought a larger handguard for his battery.
You can always dremel stuff too, lol. -------------------- |

Yeah..Why does everybody think KWAs' are entirely proprietary?
Other handguards do work lol Outer barrels may be different though. It think you need a KWA outer barrel. If you feel like converting, then go to kwausa.com and pick one up. They are very nice. While I am looking for the G36 (long), I would be fine with a smaller c/k version and conversion kit from the same company. Would I need anything besides the handguard and inner & outer barrels? Of course they're cross-compatible. But as the OP seemed concerned that the body parts match perfectly, and specified parts from the *same* company--after all, everyone has their own blend of plastic, I was just pointing out that there are no KWA-manufactured external conversion parts. I don't know which of the after-market companies' products matches the KWA body the best. That would be a good thing to determine. after all, everyone has their own blend of plastic Exactly, I really want to ensure that the parts were made the same way, have the same sheen, etc... so it doesn't look like a strange blend. Anyway, it's a shame that star&ares are discontinued, though I did find G&P and star handguard and outer barrels (though I'm afraid the barrel may be c length and they're not specifying it), and since it uses the same material as the ares, perhaps I could mix star parts w/ ares c body... It should turn out alright. I have to ask though, is it worth $435 for just a nice body? Probably not. As for the future blowbacks (I can definitely wait), would the blowback system be completely internal? I wouldn't want it (aeg blowback is just a stupid clacking), so would replacing the internals w/ regular parts eliminate it? Overall those options seem like a hassle, I'd probably just stick with the SRC. Which hop-up units/magwell would you recommend I use? Suggestion: CA hopup and Echo1 magwell I couldn't find any other magwell that doesn't convert to m4, but it doesn't sound bad from the reviewer. SRC also sells a metal hop up, maybe it's better than the stock. Here's another hopup. It costs more than the ca but it doesn't even list the brand so maybe it's not the smartest purchase... This video should answer most of your questions about the new Ares models. Note that it's the full-length G36. They fire it right at the end.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zmXJ988Qno The problem with the SRC is that the hop-up is proprietary (and not very good), and so it only works with its own matching magwell. You can put in a JG, CA, Prowin, etc. hop-up but the magwell also needs to be changed to the standard JG/CA/whatever design. (Or the plastic ballpoint pen tube DIY fix.) There aren't many of those JG/CA/etc. G36 magwells out there (and in stock) as separate items, but there is this one: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=2619 If you go the Ares route, you're good to go, except for the wait (they were announced in Sep. '09, no idea on release date). If you go the SRC route, search this forum. There have been several detailed discussions a few months ago of the hop-up unit and replacements. Alright thanks for the info! I hope that blowback is removable without too much trouble though.
Ok new question-how strong a spring do you think I could put in a stock src before something breaks? I was thinking I would want to make a DMR out of it with an m150, and I've made a nearly complete list of parts I would use, but I'm wondering how many of those parts are truly necessary. Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a sniper and it will be my first. I'll be playing mostly outside in woodland-ish terrain. my friend recommended a Well L96 AWP. Would you agree with this? I'll be at around a 100 dollar budget, without shipping. This post has been edited by Heinz: Mar 14 2010, 12:26 PM |

Yes. But with sniper rifles your going to need to upgrade in order to outpreform AEGs. There are alot of DIYs mods that will increase preformance and also there are tons of parts for the Bar 10/VSR rifles.

If you can afford it, the Well would be a better stock performer. For either rifle, be sure to scour the Sniper Rifles section and other forums for any and all DIY upgrades. They will help a lot, and they're free (minus the cost of teflon tape, foam, etc.).

I'm lookin' between $150-$250. I would like to get a scope right away with the gun, my friend will supply me with ammo, and I'll be getting mags a little later with a pistol.
I'd really like a SMG. I have my heart set on a MP5. I keep looking, and I don't know what to look for. I want it to be more metal than plastic, since im starting out I really would hate to go out with new team members and have a plastic gun break. (if that's how it works) I also am probably playing as support or assault. I've talked to people on the team I'm starting and they think it would be best for me. They said to get a multi-field gun. and thought MP5 would be best, (I'll be using a p90 for close quarters. ) I hope this isn't too long or confusing. And is it okay to ask a couple questions at once? Well, hopefully yes cause I'm doin' it. I found this gun. and loved the look. http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.ph...oducts_id=28373 The reviews are good, and I THINK it's am MP5. and im not too worried about having to get a scope and a longer barrel. Why is a MP5 called a MK5 in some websites? (I think...I google MP5 and it brings me to a gun called MK5... I know, it's a dumb question) help? please? |

Its a MP5 they call it MK5 so H&K wont file a lawsuit. That is a pretty decent gun but I would recommend G&G MP5 or this one.
These two would be a little better overall. Also the gun you linked doesnt come with the scope or the suppressor. -------------------- Updated Sale, New Items Added, Trades welcome.

Good recommendations. Yeah, because of legal issues you'll find MK5, M5, MOD5, but they're all MP5s. The G&G is made of nylon fiber, and while that is technically a plastic, it's actually stronger than most of the pot-metal bodied guns. You don't need a scope. At most, on an MP5, you'd put a red dot. If the model you get doesn't come with it, you'll need a claw rail mount (for MP5s and G3s) and the red dot itself.

HK iron sights are fantastic for airsoft compared to stock m16 sights most of the time, very easy to look through.
In fact, I'd prefer an HK ironsight compared to lower end red dots, although I haven't checked out very many of them. -------------------- |
