They're really nice from what I hear, and fairly upgradeable (Airsoft159 upgraded his CA870 awhile back). Jin and T-Bone are also really good people to go to with questions about whatever shotgun you're curious about.

I've never shot that version, but it is a spring shotgun, not gas. really? I didnt know that.... Fantastic shotgun. Great feel, great performance, reliable, easy to maintain, easy to upgrade. Damn...guess a month late is better than never...
I bought the last one AEX had in-stock late last yr, they even had to clean up & send me a display model since they didn't have any others left. They never pulled the gun off their website, so no idea if they ordered more in or are lazy. I decided the gun wasn't for me, but it was pretty darn nice. Chrono'd in at ~310 fps w/ .20s before a tightbore upgrade & it's the one maruzen CA870 model that has the allen screw adjustable hopup instead of fixed hop. Stock had the slightest wobble when extended, but that could have been accelerated handling wear. Also the spring loaded shoulder rest tended to rub a bit of a spot on the top of the barrel as it unfolded...bit of steel on plastic wear issue there. |
