My Content
I've been involved in airsoft seriously for about 5 years. Bought my first airsoft gun in 1985.
Our business is Xtreme Airsoft. We have the largest indoor airsoft course in the USA, with over 22,000 sq ft of play area. We also run a full customization and repair facility. We custom build guns, too. My other interests include historical rapier fighting, automobiles (used to race SCCA), firearms, vintage computers (Amiga!) , political affairs and current events, and the ministry. Rapier Fighting: I've been a fencing instructor for over 20 years, and about 15 years ago I took up period style fencing. As the rediscovery of the 14th - 17th century styles have come about due to the work of many people finding and studying historical texts, I have been very active in helping through a club I belong to and also through the Society for Creative Anachronisms. For better or worse, I live in the only Kingdom of the SCA where this style of fighting isn't done... so I travel all over to events in other Kingdoms. Firearms: I used to shoot competitive silhouette small bore rifle back in the day... I still occasionally hunt upland birds and game. At one time I had an FFL, but since I really wasn't using it, and with small children in the house, I decided to relinquish it. I still own several real steel guns, and like to shoot. Automobiles: I've owned a bunch of different cars over the years, including several muscle cars... I had the distinction in college of owning a 1969 Dodge Super Bee and a 1970 Pontiac GTO at the same time... my first brand new car was a 1986 Dodge Omni GLH Turbo, that I did some SCCA rally-cross with. I also showed it and the Super Bee at shows for a couple of years (I'd tow the GLH behind the Bee on a car dolly). I got into Volvo's again (my first car was a 1965 122s) with a vintage 1971 142e that I raced rally with for about 5 years, which started me into a run of a lot of 240's... like about 15 total Volvos over about the same number of years. Right now, I don't have any "fun" cars... too busy making the business work. But I have a list... Computers: I've got several vintage Amigas and some other assorted hardware... I love the Amiga OS and wished that it had survived. It was the premiere operating system... I finally succumbed to windows in about 1999 or 2000 (Amiga went bankrupt in 1993). I still have Amiga Forever loaded on my machines, and if Amiga had a decent web browser, I'd put it on in a minute... but it's so old now (and I don't have time to home brew) that its now more for nostalgia. Current Affairs and Politics etc: I believe everyone needs to be engaged with the goings on of government and the world around us... and that we can make a difference. I think that government should be limited, that it should be as inobtrusive as possible, and generally get out of the way of people. Government is good at doing a few things, but it has gotten into too many things. I think the worst thing to ever happen to our Republic is that the judiciary has been allowed to legislate from the bench... twisting the Constitution and putting a whole lot of things into it that are not there, and ignoring or blatantly violating other parts of it. Ministry: When I got married, my wife was an Ordained Minister. I was raised in the Catholic church, and kind of moved away from it, because of various philosophical differences that I have with what the Bible says versus what the Church says... so I kind of drifted, but then studied all the various religions. So when we got together, I started (at her suggestion) studying in her church, and "followed the calling" as it were, and got my ordination papers as well. We do not run a church, but we do live the life... we have made a difference in so many peoples lives by the example of the life we lead. I am not "preachy", but there is right and wrong... and I am not afraid to stand up for religious rights, many of which have been pushed away erroneously from our public lives (see above) As so many say, "I am a soldier for the LORD".... me, too... I have been blessed and even raised a Knight in the Holy Order of Saint Michael. In the end, I'm not a "In Your Face" kind of Christian, I'm more of a "Let your Light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father, who is in Heaven" -------------------- -THE Paisley Pirate- <=== Read at your own peril
