And hold your rifle like a rifle instead of a paintball gun.... IE, use the foregrip how it was designed to be used. :) (one of my pet peeves in airsoft is guys who hold their rifles like paintball guns)

personally, when ive fired an M16 like that,(real steel) the magazine got considerably warm when I wasnt wearing gloves.
thats why I hold mine NORMALLY on the note of your stance, try leaning into it a bit more. otherwise it is fine(provided that is your stance) This post has been edited by endofhartake07: Jan 14 2006, 10:37 PM |

it is most definitely not physically impossible. its physically possible and more comfortable--an m4 is NOT front heavy, theres a lot more weight in the receiver then the barrel. an airsoft m4 is actually more front heavy then the real steel since the battery is in the foregrip--and I still find it way more comfortable to hold it on the magwell.
not to mention youre not really raining on my parade, go look at the photos, its clearly an implemented and even suggested method (check the army manual I linked to as well). firing a weapon is just like learning to ride a bike--everyones got a different technique, different style...but as long as it gets the job done safely and accurately in the end it doesnt really matter. and for clarification--I didnt post any of the above posts in order to stir up a storm or "PWN" anyone, I merely posted them to show that it is a plausible and used method in the real combat spectrum, to suggest an alternative and to defend the original posters stance. its a shame it got taken so far off topic after I did that. but to take it back on topci--sealteam I would ditch the black shirt, esp for night youll stick out like a sore thumb. otherwise its coming along well. yes I have fired an AR-15, and if it had been an M-16 then it would have been even more front heavy
have any of you guys actually held a full-size M-16 by the magwell while aiming it? you HAVE to hold it by the front handgaurd, there's no other way and if you want to continue this argument, perhaps somewhere else, so we don't dirty up this poor kid's topic |

if this is for night, I would suggest getting a long sleeved under armor shirt...great for weather, and your less of a target. I always laugh at the people wearing big honkin' sweatshirts out there playing. Cause if a bb happens to wing your shirt you've still been hit
And hold your rifle like a rifle instead of a paintball gun.... IE, use the foregrip how it was designed to be used. :) (one of my pet peeves in airsoft is guys who hold their rifles like paintball guns) I guess if you were going from the military standpoint, but I guess if it were airsoft and not having hard kicking guns (see the fact that it fires small 6mm bb's) I wouldn't worry about it too much...haha but if going to go into the military, then I definately don't suggest shooting it like a paintball gun :) -------------------- "Those who live by the sword get shot by those who don't."

tell me what you think? any improvements on the basic loadout? let me know.. and I'll make improvements! Thanks guys http://img389.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img00272ci.jpg http://img389.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img00280gu.jpg http://img389.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img00297pt.jpg Back on topic. Like everybody before me has said (almost exclusively), I would suggest a shirt that is either brown or OD. You could get long-sleeved UnderArmor if you like to cover your arms, but sometimes it can be expensive (depending on what type you buy: ColdGear, HeatGear, etc.). Also, I notice you have a pistol lanyard, which is a good saftey measure in case you accidently drop your pistol. Me personally, I don't use them (I prefer using a Desert Eagle when I can). I have a question, though. How many magazines do you have for your AEG? Also, how do you carry them. If you have, say, 4 or less, I'd suggest investing in a drop-leg mag pouch. Search around to find the best prices for that. (That is, unless you already have one or have a way to carry your spare mags that works for you.) Also, since this is what you called your "Night Loadout," I'd suggest making sure everything fits relatively snug to keep from moving around and making excess noise. And you might want to find a way of securing that radio a little better. It looks like it's bearly holding on to your belt. Just my thoughts, hope they help. |

Same as Loe really. Change your top and you'll be golden. If not, I've played a few games in a black t-shirt. Plus I'm one of those camo killing Black Vest wearers. I have confidence that your stance was that way just at the time, but if you fight that way, go with comfort and effect. If you can take some names with that stance, more power to you.
