I recently bought a sniper rifle from this guy with this upgrades - http://airsoftsniper.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=selling&action=display&thread=1230&page=1 . I raplaced a few parts and now this are the parts installed in the rifle: Tokyo Marui VSR-10 G-Spec PDI SS 5000 VSR-10 spring Laylax VSR-10 Cylinder Head Laylax VSR-10 Teflon Cylinder PDI 9mm spring guide Laylax VSR-10 Zero Trigger w/ orange Piston PDI VSR-10 554mm 6.01 inner barrel TDC Hop Up System TF Bucking and Sleeve PDI VSR-10 Receiver PDI VSR-10 Bull Barrel Base PDI VSR-10 Bull Barrel P PDI VSR-10 Bull Barrel Cap King Arms Spring Eject Bipod Barska 3-9x40mm Scope my problem is that with this parts installed as I read in other posts my rifle suppose to shoot approximatly 660fps but it only gives(125m/s 3.30 joul with 0.43bb) 600fps, what can be the problem? where to check? and what will you suggest me to do?(maybe change some part) ? THANKS. |

Yes that would be my guess, on the piston where it touches the cylinder. I checked my PDI Bore up unit and it is not a good fit at all. Also, nozzle seating into the bucking? Did you put teflon or electrical tape on the back side of the bucking where it touches the barrel?

Explain to me how your PDI spring fits into your Laylax piston. The PDI is a 9mm spring system while the laylax is a 7mm system.
Ok I hate to flame on ebeck but let me correct what he has said and clarify. Let's start with the cylinder. Make sure (as stated above) everything is compatible. Next change your o-ring, it should be a #13 or #14 (some people have stated both, personally I use a #13 because I find the #14 too tight and it causes the piston to be sluggish) The orange piston that comes with the Z-trig has been known to have problems with the o-ring. Next, make sure your gun is properly lubed (there's threads about it, just search this forum). Finally, make sure you wrap TEFLON tape (not electrical it's too thick and does not provide the seal like teflon) around the cylinder head threads for max compression, I believe my Bar 10 has 2 or 3 layers, just make sure you can fit it back on. Now lets move on to the hop-up. First, make sure you are not needing to use your hop-up at max or nearly max. Simply because more hop = less fps. You want a low to mid setting. Next point, similar to the cylinder head wrap teflon tape around the barrel. You have the TF and TDC hop-up systems, so I'm not 100% familiar with them. Just make sure you wrap the hop-up system with tape so the arm and bucking can still function but air is not lost. Finally, make sure your hop-up is all installed correctly, an improper installation could cause problems (that applies for cylinder also). If you do all this and it's still not right, it may be possible the spring was advertised wrong, that often happens so people will buy them. Good luck! -------------------- "Boy let me tell you something, this ain't nothing"

I tried electrical tape and it worked fine but then again I modified my chamber for a brass sleeve. thanks for the clarification.

But then again teflon tape is designed to seal water and air, so can't argue with that. -------------------- "Boy let me tell you something, this ain't nothing"

thanks for the help and care guys.
first I checked what you told me and everything is compatible in a metter of fact the SS5000 pdi spring fits perfectly with the 9mm spring guide into the laylax orange cylinder much better then the laylax 170sp spring. I think the guy who sold me the gun sent me an extra o-ring for the piston I'll change the o-ring!, my vsr-10 is perfectly lubed, after you wrept some layers on the cylinder threads did it help? did it gave a better performance because I did the same and noting!!!. yeah you are right I am using my hop-up almost at the maximum but only at this point it start to spin the ball , if I use the hop-up less it's not helping and the bb's are immidiatly falling!!, I think because I use the hop-up almost at the max it couses me another problem- when I'm realoading it feeds 2-3 bb's can it be the reason for that??? can you help me to solve this problem to?? thanks. PM'ed. Let me know how checking up on the hop-up goes. I believe if you have the compression, then the hop-up could be the only other problem.
