Hey everybody.... I have been hearing from some airsoft buddies of mine complaing about annoying snipers.. now every body knows how effective a good sniper on your team can be... but they can be a real pest if your on the reciveing side of the fire, here are some ways to aviod and take down some snipers:
1. NEVER just walk into the open (feild, stream, pathway) w/o checking all the trees and obsticals. 2. If you are spotted by a sniper do not try to just randomly shoot at the place you think they are (I have seen many teammates and enemies do this with little sucess) 3. don't be too careful you ALWAYS skip something and thats were that lucky sniper is. 4. if something looks supicious do not just shoot at it 5. Take notice of every thing! nosies, movment, reflections ect. 6. SNIPERS ARE VERY SNEAKY and if they are cockey enuf they will get up close and personal from behind *SLIT* 7. Take notice of the snipers expericne, a new sniper will always pick a easy to climb tree, or go prone on the deck, expecirned snipers will always use bukers (rocks, stream banks, small trees, old torn up obsticals.) 8. and finally GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT!!! ~ if you are cinfident the sniper can tell and he will have less of a chance to get that shot off. Tell me what you think.... and some more ideas if you got any! GOOD LUCK AND TAKE THEM SNIPERS OUTTTT! -E-2 Waldhauser USNSCC "THE ONLY EASY DAY WAS YESTERDAY" -US NAVY SEALS This post has been edited by xXNAVYSEAL91Xx: Mar 19 2005, 03:42 PM -------------------- ![]() Note: Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. I just realized something... these are just generic things that we all should be doing no matter what the situation or "rank/job" we have on our team... and they're pretty good advice is executed well. This kid's got brians, he's just trying to make himself out to be some super 1337 sniper that can do it all, ya know?
Seriously, when I read through all of his "how to," "articles," I found that the advice given is spectacular, holistic advice. I just don't see it being "neccesary," for the specific situations. |

Even though people will now know how to take us snipers down, we still dominate! Yes it is now a bit harder to kill people, but we can still take out a nice sized chunk of the enemy.

Since im a sniper I can help. Always stay behind cover, always duck, don't make alot of noise, be alert so if u get shot at u might hav a general location of the sniper. if playing with a sniper with a Ghilly suit always doulbe check what look like bushs, see if u can find a barrel of a gun sticking out of the brush. I hav alot more but I don't want to give to much info out one of my friends could see this and id be dead.

2. This seems like more of a "how not to get taken out by a sniper", rather that a "how to take a sniper out". whitefeather99 -------------------- ![]() THANKS GWAG!! well in my wars we have a really big rectangular field that supplies good foliage and trees plus a creek that runs along the side of the field. HOW I PLAY at my field is I stay in the far left corner with my ghille prone and have my spotter with aeg a little farther ahead walkie talkie me on on locations and when there getting close or to close and my assistance is needed.
the only problem I have being a sniper is getting hot or a little adjitated not to be in the frontline. but id always go with being the sniper |

There is one fact that everyone in this thread has left out. How do you take out an enemy that you cannot find? People who actually adhere to sniper doctrine (very rare, if you find someone who does, you should have them on your side) will not merely shoot at targets of opportunity. They will wait, they will move, and they will shoot, all to eliminate strategically important members of the enemy team, and they will wait and move to observe every movement, find every position that their enemy makes or is in, respectively. Their waiting will be indefinite, their movement and positions undetectable, and their shooting the epitome of perfection.
How are you going to find one? How are you going to eliminate them if they disappear silently from their position into the brush? xXNAVYSEAL91Xx, how do you move in closer, when you do not now where they are? DrgnLrd, how are you going to run at them if you do not know where they are? CPT. Hawk, how do you home in on one shot, a shot that will down your leader and possibly shatter your organization? While taking cover, you might be on the wrong side. And whitefeather99, I agree. When conducting counter-sniper operations, the most important determinant of victory is the sniper's location. Without it, you are powerless. By the way, while one is trying to find a sniper, they might just fall into an ambush called in by the sniper, who was able to observe the searcher's every movement. After all, we sniper hold a lot of power. When stalking, we see every step you take, every breath you take, every decision you make, etc. Everything you do, is what we allow you to do, until we decide to squeeze the trigger (if we know that you are important). Remember the four jobs of an airsoft sniper: reconnaissance, observation, assassination, and-if absolutely necessary-the provision of accurate support fire for friendlies. By the way, I can elaborate if anyone wants. I have a friend who is a sniper, a dedicated sniper. He made his rifle by hand, every bit. He has a ghillie suit which he also made by hand. A couple days ago, we were in a 24 hour war, he was prone in one place for approximatly 17 hours, there he got 37 kills. When the game was over, he was walking funny, in his underwear, you can imagine what I may have thought. It turns out, he was on very moist ground during this 17 hours, thus his skin was scraping off onto his clothes, he said it did not hurt unitl he moved, which was when most of the skin came off. He went home and wasn't able to play for about a month. He is alright though. Maybe those of you in NW Washington will meet him and I one day. He has been playing for about 7 months. Anyway, the point is, if someone is dedicated, and not greedy, they can be excellent snipers.
-------------------------------------+ I have a friend (Ashley, yes a guy named Ashley) who is a sniper, who had served 3 years as a special recon sniper in the Armyand is a dedicated sniper. He made his rifle by hand, every bit (His real steal rifle that is). He has a ghillie suit which he also made by hand (he used it in the army, and also in airsoft). A couple days ago (now quite a while ago), we were in a 24 hour war, he was prone in one place (meaning a relative are of a circle who radius is 10 feet) for approximately 17 hours, there he got 37 (Sorry, not 37, it was 17, he got so many kills, because there were respawns, and most newcomers went back to the area where they were killed trying to kill him. 37 kills is an unheard of number for an airsoft game, even a week long airsoft game is unlikely to allow a sniper to get 37 kills. My mistake which was not found because I did not read over the post.) kills. When the game was over, he was walking funny, in his underwear (it was a very friendly game, everyone knew eachother); you can imagine what I may have thought. It turns out, he was on very moist ground during this 17 hours, thus his skin began to scrape off onto his clothes when he began to walk, he said it did not hurt until he moved, which was when most of the skin came off (not all of it, just small patches on his legs, and one if I recall on his stomach). He went home and wasn't able to play for about a month (after visiting the doctor of course). The explanation for what happened as the doctor told it: your skin was in contact with water for so long, that the water seeped into your skin, and into your deeper flesh, causing the outer layers of skin to rot, and die thus falling off. He is alright though, right now he is back in Afghanistan doing what he does best. Maybe those of you in NW Washington will meet him and I one day (I plan for your to meet him). He has been playing for about 7 months (well now exactly one year). Anyway, the point is, if someone is dedicated, and not greedy, they can be excellent snipers. Regardless of their time as an airsoft sniper, or their methods. Let me go over this post of mine. RED = typo, BLUE = addition to the story, YELLOW = correction of typo. but gunsmithzero.....there are very few snipers that actually take the care and dedication to not be found. Most airsoft snipers believe that they are snipers because they own a bolt action rifle.

Very true. I have meet many a 'sniper' who claims imortality simple because he has a scope on his rifle. These plays are easily delt with and spotted because their rifle is simply a modified AEG usually, or a cheap rifle at best. Most of the time they'll be the ones you see in the airsoft videos on google and youtube. A good sniper shoud never be seen in a movie. The camera should go over him and pass him by as a stick. -------------------- Is the world just a foxhole you watch from?

Which is exactly why the mad minute works, because if some1 has been hit, most of the time the "snipers" location is known.

whitefeather99, please throughly read my previous post, particularly the part that states "People who actually adhere to sniper doctrine (very rare, if you find someone who does, you should have them on your side)...".

He got 37 kills from one spot? Well, here are the possible scenerios; A: He's cocky and/or stupid, and doesn't adhere to any of the rules that the U.S. Marine sniper schools teach their students (never take more than 3 or 4 shots from a single hide), or B: He was playing against complete newbies who were either too stupid to travel in groups, or too stupid to figure out where he was.
I think you're full of it, and that's as mildly as I can put it. Also, if he was simply lying on the ground for all that time, he wouldn't have rubbed his skin raw. He'd have to have been rubbing his legs together the entire time to achieve that effect. Your whole story sounds like a load of crap to me. While I'm on this topic, I'm a sniper as well, and I've got plenty of distinguishing kills under my belt, and so does whitefeather, who is a experienced sniper in his own respect. -------------------- Need a great sig? Hey everybody.... I have been hearing from some airsoft buddies of mine complaing about annoying snipers.. now every body knows how effective a good sniper on your team can be... but they can be a real pest if your on the reciveing side of the fire, here are some ways to aviod and take down some snipers: 1. -E-2 Waldhauser USNSCC "THE ONLY EASY DAY WAS YESTERDAY" -US NAVY SEALS 1. do it you make yourself a better target and thats exactly what I want. lol if you can't walk right into the field how the hell are you supposed to check the obsticals 2.you know he has a point. try to get closer and get a better angle. then again try to disappear if you can let a friend move up and then you move up. 3.ya and thats where you get shot. oooo burn. you can be too careful I almost got shot because I stopped and wondered if that dude is on my team or not and decided to ask. thats being too careful...in a way 4.ah throw a rock at it and if it starts cussin shoot it. lol. but seriously if it looks suspcious do something to try to make it move. shooting at it only wastes ammo and creates a lot of noise and if the sniper didn't see you before well you get shot at most likely cus he now knows where your at. 5.For you people that are just starting out this is gonna be harder because you haven't tried to control what you do naturally. it has the same principle of when you walk into a house you don't look up, you look around. humans don't look up naturally and when they do there mouths open seriously tell your friend to look up and I bet you there mouth will be open. lol 6.theres some truth to that, but hey if they get too cocky there still not a great sniper. 7.(ooooo yay my favorite number) As this is true I never did it. Seriously I made like 4 bunkers, and places where people wouldn't check for a sniper. I also made it to where if I wanted to be a CQB I could get to those bunkers well except for one and quess what I'm stationed in it so why do you think I never got shot. (its even though cuz I can get to all the bunkers without getting shot only because I made them. its sweat cuz one time I got right in front of the bunker behing this wall thing I made and made my self a target and let him shoot and miss because he sucks then ran and dived behind another wall thing, made him shoot and miss then ran at the bunker slid and basically lit where he was at up. another reason I never get shot at is because it is my field and most of the guns are mine so I get the most practice, but hey I go over to there houses too and still kick the puppys across the room. I love this sport) 8.I have no clue what he just said. *give it all you got* well ah....(drew a blank).......what the hell do you mean. you wanted to play. what are you just gonna sit there when you get on the field and say hey im gonna give it all I got, why I just sit here. (lost)......If your willing to buy the guns and ammo you better try or you just wasted 80-400$. besides all this lovely critiscism I gave I have one this to say. not all californians are surfers or skateboard punks. if you go up to northern cal you got cattle ranches farmers lots of woods caves rivers lakes and so on. Some of us are southerners at heart we just live in the north lol. oo wait not the one thing I had to say the thing I had to say was out of a one thorugh ten, I'd give this advice maybe like a four. anyways ttyl later |

I will ahve to agree with Thomme, I think that these guides you're writing aren't all that great, they aren't specifics, they're just general things you would normally do in most situations anyway. Also for the future, if you're gonna write an article that people are going to take the time to read I suggest you make it longer, and that it includes more examples from actual skirmishes to show where the suggestion actualy applies to a game. Basically more like Wesker's guides.

Then I woke up one day and realized I had been dprived of my individuality. I didn't have an oppinion, I wanted to but I was physically unable. I do and say what I am supposed to. It's kind of sad and at the same time incredibly liberating. |

ahh good idea.. but what if his wepon was a semi-auto PSG1.... he would proboly get at leats one good shot off.. my favorite tactic is to either throw a stone ect. in a bush opposite of my position to make him think there is another enemy and lay down cover for myself and move in closer until I have a garunteed shot E-2 Waldhauser USNSCC "THE ONLY EASY DAY WAS YESTERDAY" -US NAVY SEALS I can see you with full molle with rocks in half the pockets XD -------------------- ![]() |

when im playing I always go sniper on sniper the best way to take a sniper down is 3 words:
location location location it is proven that if you have a decisive postion you can overwhelm the sniper and make him scream "herosim is just fear cloaked in courage no fear no courage." |

While I'm on this topic, I'm a sniper as well, and I've got plenty of distinguishing kills under my belt, and so does whitefeather, who is a experienced sniper in his own respect. I have a friend (Ashley, yes a guy named Ashley) who is a sniper, who had served 3 years as a special recon sniper in the Armyand is a dedicated sniper. Thank you for realizing this mistake, however next time I would appreciate it if you used the PM system before assuming me to be a foul lier without values.
