So my neighbors have been getting pretty PO'd at the constant whine of aegs at night and actually threatened to call the police on us if my friends and I use loud airsoft guns at night.they said it was fine if we used spring guns but the only spring gun I have is a 3$pistol off of hobbytron that barely shoots and I've been looking into buting a nicer spring rifle. I've narrowed it down to 2 choices of refurbished guns from kapowwe. The cybergun famas and an ak47 with a high cap mag. can you guys give me some input on these guns and let me know which one's better. I'm looking for fps and range pretty much since I'm going to be competing against a sniper and shotguns, Thanks.

if you want to spend more than $12 and get something nice A&K dragonov would be a good choice (if you can afford it) it has a high cap mag and you can cycle it much faster than a normal bolt action rifle.

Ha irony. Trying not to break bank and yet shopping off of kapowwe. I giggled.
What about this: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.ph...oducts_id=24294 I don't know your taste in guns but it's a m14! Basicly pick ANY gun from this list and they will more than likely all perform the same since they are all on the lower spectrum of the sport http://www.airsoftpost.com/index.php?cPath=21_43 Just because they are on the lower side doesn't mean they are bad. They are actually quite fun to play with and a good cheap start into the sport. Ah I miss those days, just playing in the back yard with my both elephant AUG, just shooting anthills and soda cans..........sigh And on a final note, for good old fashion dueling, I picked up two of these http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.ph...oducts_id=28226 so my younger brother and I can reenact 1700 style duels (back to back walking forward) eye protection is worn of course but nothing beats cheap entertainment. those springer M14s are pretty good supposidly, look at the UTG AK47, they very nice springers (Cyma 028 body and mags but springer internals). They are also TM compatible. I think they run around $40

Of the two you originally posted, I'd incline to the Famas. But there are a couple of better guns for not too much more.
Top recommendation is the TSD M14; DeadlyApollo beat me to it in recommending this. It has surprising range and accuracy (and weight and realism) for a $35 gun. I've really enjoyed mine. The other good gun in the inexpensive spring rifle category is the UTG AK47 Warhawk. This is more expensive. They can run around $65, but good luck finding one! They are sold out almost everywhere. These two, the Famas, and UHC MP5 SD3 are really the only springer rifles in this price range that can be recommended. The inexpensive alternative to a rifle would be a single-shot or tri-shot shotgun. There are plenty of threads on these in the corresponding section of the forum. -------------------- Some pics from the collection: Eight Different M16s and M4s & Ten Pistols

I recommend neither of those. General rule for springers, if it's under $20, it sucks. Check out this page also.
http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/Airsoft_Spri..._Rifles_s/2.htm If you must order from kapowwe, then get this. http://www.kapowwe.com/2-1-1.html Amazing gun, consistantly hitting 120 feet and maxing at nearly ~155. Very VERY good choice with the FAMAS. I have it, and can vouch for it, it's the best cheap springer I've shot. Range is great, accuracy is a lot better than expected too.

I agree the FAMAS is a very good choice, nice weight, good build quality, impressive accuracy, ideal control and length, decent velocity and great ergonomics. (due to the design of both the airsoft and firearm FA-MAS rifle) All in all for a spring rifle this is very nice! think KWC pistol as this reminds me of them. |
