I am a proud owner of a M324 for several years now. I have experimented and tinkered with this baby for quite some time and learned a lot of things. I have decided to share my knowledge in this topic.

Gun specs:
Type: Bolt-action, Tokyo Marui VSR-10/US Army M24 Sniper Weapon System Clone
Stock Power: ~1.6J, *400-430 FPS @ .20g
Barrel: 464 mm aluminum, *6.14 mm diameter
Weight: ~7 lbs stock

Available Upgrades:
EdGI Parts

  • UTG M324 V3 6.01mm Barrel $75.00
  • UTG M324 V3 6.00mm Barrel $80.00
  • Heat Treated Steel Sear Set $50.00
  • 7mm Steel Spring Guide $32.00
  • Anodized Alloy Piston $60.00
  • 525fps Spring $22.00
  • 585fps Spring $22.00
  • Cylinder & Cylinder Head $75.00
    + Flat-rate shipping $10.00
EdGI may also offer discounts on complete kits. Please contact them via email or telephone (found on their website).

DB Customs 6.01mm Barrel @ AirsoftGI $45.00 + ASGI Shipping (shipping varies)

Laylax Springs @ Airsoft Atlanta

  • Laylax VSR-10 120SP Spring $17.99
  • Laylax VSR-10 130SP Spring $17.99
+ Airsoft Atlanta Shipping (shipping varies)
You can get higher rated springs but I would NOT recommend it due to the flimsiness/lack of durability of the plastic trigger mech.

I have noticed a good bit of people asking about the M324 and what bucking upgrades are available. The basic answer is NONE.

Let me explain the M324's bucking/chamber system:

1. The M324 has its own custom-made custom-sized chamber that is not interchangeable with a VSR chamber (too small).

2. The corresponding stock bucking for the M324 is custom-made to fit only to that chamber and vice versa. A VSR compatable bucking WILL NOT fit due to the differences in the bucking's outer grooves or nubs.

As you can see in the above picture, the M324 bucking (right) has a groove that lines up with the groove on the M324 chamber (shown under #1). You will also see that the VSR compatible bucking (left) does not have the same groove length or width. Therefore the VSR bucking will not fit properly in a M324 hop chamber.

3. Comparisons of the Chambers/Buckings

M324 Chamber/Bucking

VSR Compatible Chamber/Bucking

As far as upgraded barrels go, I'm hoping that EdGi/DBC/etc cut the M324 barrels identical to the stock barrels and not for a VSR bucking. If they cut them for a VSR bucking then I am deeply sorry to inform M324 owners that they wasted their money on a tightbore because a VSR tightbore would require a VSR bucking and therefore a VSR chamber which the M324 does not have.

Below is a comparison of the M324 barrel (silver) and the VSR compatible barrel (brass). Notice that the notches are placed differently on the barrels. This is due to the discrepancies between the M324 bucking and a normal VSR compatible bucking.

The bottom line:
You cannot replace your bucking. The only way you could is if you found a smaller, VSR compatible chamber.

*This information may not be confirmed or may vary between guns.

Does EdGI or someone make a metal trigger box that will fit without modification? Also, doesn't Nine Ball and King Arms buckings work, because I am thinking of buying one and I wanted to check before I did.

KWA M4, MadBull M150, 11.1v lipo, KWA 2G bucking, SW-EVOLUTION Mosfet, and EdGI 6.01mm TB

JG BAR-10 G-Spec with TK twist barrel, Laylax Zero Trigger, piston, and SP100 spring, and more to come soon...

KWA Glock 17 OD, Shooter's Design Rocket Valve, Guarder Enhanced Recoil Spring, two magazines

If you are Home Schooled and proud of it put this in your sig.

They will *not* fit in the chamber.

The only way to get a metal trigger box is if you tapped the cylinder and put a VSR/BAR one in. I don't know how to do that though.

Yes, if you do get a tightbore then use the stock UTG bucking on it.

hey tux, I'm considering getting one of these to show some of the local players that a clone sniper rifle is actually capable of performing well. As for the hopup bucking, would it not be possible to simply cut a hole in the side of the hop chamber so that a vsr bucking could fit?

The chamber isn't built for those type of buckings. Show me a picture of the end of the DBC please.

You would need to make sure the diameter of the chamber was correct as well. Also, the tightbore would need to be cut for VSR-compatible buckings and not the UTG bucking.

of course, I was thinking to use a laylax inner with a nineball bucking, simply do the necessary cuts on the barrel to accompany the notches in the hop, then cut a slit in the chamber so I can use the nineball bucking.

I think the laylax is already cut for a VSR (unless it's an AEG barrel). But besides that, your plan SHOULD work great.

it is, I'm saying the grooves on the outside of barrel would need to be cut to fit in the notches of the chamber

Awesome. That confirms that DBC did a good job at cutting the barrel to be compatible with the M324 hop/bucking.

Some new info:

I was curious about the inner barrel diameter so I emailed him back:

I then received the reply:

So there we have it folks. According to Leapers themselves the stock M324 V3 barrel is ~6.04mm and the upgrade barrel in the V3 kit only provides a brass material upgrade with no inner dimension change.

If you have a Gen 2 then the upgrade is excellent but if you already have the Gen 3 then the only plus is the brass barrel.

What is the rating of a stock spring in a M324 Gen 3? Also, what spring did you list to get 525 FPS? Is that the Laylax VSR-10 120SP?

That's part of the EdGI kit. (525 FPS) http://edgicustom-usa.com/

The stock spring is something between a 110sp and a 120. In my gun, I have a 110 with a spring spacer. This setup makes it easier on the trigger mech/sears than the stock spring. It's shooting around 475 FPS.

TUX...Thanks.

What did you use as a spacer? Do you have a mini guide or pics of what you did? That would be great! Thanks!

Awesome! I am a veteran sniper and springer ASoft player for about 7 years now. I am not too new to modding (I made my own sniper rifle nearly scratch built). I just don't want to take the chance of screwing up the M324. Last gun I did spacer to was a UHC Mp5sd3 years ago and it tore it up. Thanks again!

I hate to get back to you so late but basically what I have done is wrapped TIGHTLY about 3/4" of the base of the guide with electrical tape and made sure that it wasn't able to deviate.

Do you know what the problem is when the mags won't feed to the gun? All of a sudden my gun won't feed.

Question: how does one tell the difference between a gen 2 and gen 3 M324? I have one that I bought secondhand and the original owner isn't sure.

I could be mistaken, but I think only Gen.3's have a openable bolt.

To the person that is having feeding problems, there is a U-shaped plastic piece that has a spring on top of it in the hop-up housing. Without it, you will have feeding problems. Unscrew the barrel from the bolt housing piece, and take the inner barrel out of the outer barrel. Look down the barrel from the end closest to the hop-up; you should only be able to see about a half-moon view because of this piece. I can explain more if needed.

I need help with my bucking I think, my gun shoots straight with no hopup, when I increase it the bb's curve down dramaticly at 35-45 ft, u have any ideas what the problem is? thanks alot!!!

Hello, wasn't exactly sure where to ask about this but found the most recent post on this M324 I could and so am posting here. My son has the UTG M324 and somehow managed to lose the bolt mount. My wife and I have been scouring the web trying to find a replacement, but the only place we can find that has one listed is Hobbytron, but they are out of stock. Does anyone else know where I can find a replacement bolt mount for this weapon? I'd appreciate any help...you can e-mail me direct at paez<AT>junk<AT>gmail.com if you'd like. Cheers.

Contact Leapers. They generally sell replacement parts fairly cheap.

Sorry for the necro, but it's better then a whole new thread.

Is there any way you can modify AEG barrel (namely a Systema brass barrel) to fit? I'm bored so I'm trying to do as many free DIY mods as I can to my old UTG M324 that hasn't been touched in ages.

Thanks.
