Well, some substance in your post would be very nice...
I would get, for a US soldier, a TM M16A1, an authentic lbv, some tigerstripe camo, some kind of .45 pistol, boots, food, etc. For a VC I would get some leather sandals, tannish clothes, an AK-47, no pistol. The army did not use LBV's in NAM. They also only used tiger stripe in an unofficial way(green berets and arvin only). Get some Olive Drab BDU's, ALICE gear, and some surplus jungle boots. If you can find and old OD flack jacket, that will help too. An M14, M16a1, M79, M1911, M60, or maybe even a Thompson(the early years of NAM).
Love the Avatar. "This is bat country", "Did you see what /THOU SHALT NOT USE MY NAME IN VAIN/ just did". Love Hunter S. Thompson, and that movie. This post has been edited by NoRemorse: Mar 9 2006, 11:07 PM -------------------- "Don't sweat the petty stuff, pet the sweaty stuff." - Anonymous

actually alice gear was after nam.... we used a m1956 and m1967 web gear but not alice (plus that picture and a plastic buckle...... they had brass buckles in the 60-70)
lemme find some links..... http://www.olive-drab.com/od_soldiers_gear...nam_webgear.php also TS was used by SOG and you can use an AK or a tommy or a m3a1 or any weapon from the era for a SOG loudout.... a list of Airsoft weapon that were used in veitnam are: Tm M16A1VN Tm M16A1 Tm Xm177 Tm Car-15 TM/G&G M14 (wood version) TM AK47 TM M1A1 WA/KJW M1911A1 Military or Army Hudson M3A1 KTW M37 Tanaka/Sun projects M40 Top/Inokatsu M60 CAW M79 ....and many more when I remeber them |

weapons have pretty much been covered. Gear wise..here you go:
Uniforms: USMC M1958 Utility (Early vietnam) Olive Drab (OD) 1st Pattern, 2nd Pattern, and 3rd Pattern Jungle Fatigues (They're all OD and jungle fatigues but have small adjustments, they were worn through 67ish-up any pattern would be acceptable for a vietnam loadout - unless you have a Specific loadout & Specific Date for you loadoud/Impression) Gear: M1956 web gear was most popular. Used mainly by US army though out the vietnam era in the 60's and by Marines later on in '67. Standard gear consisted of: pistol belt, 2 small-arms rifle mag pouches, 2 canteens w/pouches, buttpack, compass pouch & E-tool w/pouch. M1967 web gear. basicly the same, except made of a nylon material and such. same kit as above. (Later war stuff) USMC M1961 web gear/etc. Used my USMC through out the vietnam war, mostly in the begining stages the basic gear was: M41 Suspenders w/US ARMY Shoulder Pad adapters, M1961 Snap-Type pistol belt, 4x M1961 Single 20rnd M14 magazine pouch, 2x M44 Canteen pouch/canteen, m1961 or 58 butt pack, &M44 first aid kit. Pretty much the basic..webgear. Boot wise..I'd suggest jungle boots. OD. Helmet= M1 w/Mitchel cover & od band. early nam usmc used duck hunter type cover or OD type cover w/EGA. USMC also used a rubber band type thinger for the helmet band. US army uses the elastic type you see today (cept minus the cat eyes) Flak jackets: USMC WebGear: M1956 web gear: ![]() 1st Pattern (hard and expensive to get) ![]() 2nd Pattern (don't care) ![]() 3rd Pattern: (Best one in my opinion, like the material & look also easier to get) ![]() boooyaaa! I would go with a SOG loadout, its easier because you can just throw together bits and pieces because thats what they did. theres a picture of mine (in progress) in the whose got the best looking loadout thread. mine is no where near 100% accurate and you will never hear me claim it to be so save the "OMG why are you using that" comments to yourself because I personally don't care.
http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/Who-Has-...Out-t33480.html theres a link to the thread, as far as your boot choices go, I wear the ones in the second link, they work fine, but be weary of the vents on the inside of each boot, because water easily gets into them. I saw a Nam era flak vest/jacket at my surplus store and it was like $100 bucks, so good luck with that. -------------------- ![]() Armament: TM M14, TM M3 Super 90, CA36C, 2x KWA M945 |

for the jungle fatigues..OD ripstop pants and this top... http://www.galaxyarmynavy.com/item-4687.asp heres a good site for references on gear and footwear...remember,jungle boots weren't black back then ,only OD.. http://www.vietnamgear.com/ here's the vietnam uniform post we started on our site ... http://s176595924.onlinehome.us/teamblackj...topic.php?t=707 hope some of the info helps.. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |
