'Sup. I am an airsofter in North Eastern Illinios. I like to consider myself a rifleman class, but sometime I'll play in a makeshift support/suppression role. I am an iron sights player, and a semi-auto fan. I mostly use a stock JG M16a1 (2008), which has lasted me through some intense battles for the past few months. I've deck it out with a bipod and a flashlight (with electrical tape) and have 2 300rd hicaps (my back ups), and five 180rd VN midcaps, (which I normally use; I'm a fan of the reduced firepower/higher situational awareness philosophy) in addition to 5k box mag (which I only use for support 'cause it's not autowind). I've actually invested more money into accessories then to my gun, which I'll probably replace in the coming months. My gear is pretty standard, leg rig with pistol holster. However, with my OD green pant/trousers/whatever, I like to wear my (lucky) leather bomber jacket, in lieu of a more traditional camo pattern. Honestly, I have used a army woodland BDU before and didn't help me that much, but once with my jacket on I only crouched about three feet off the path and I got passed over by a seven to eight man fireteam, which my squad and me took down pretty fast.
Stories "Lucky" Bomber Jacket We were playing a game, my fireteam was 5 guys; TL, ATL, DM, Rifleman, Point. (I was point.) We were supposed to be the fireteam for another assault team, but they got ambushed or disappeared or got bored and walked away or something, but we were alone. So we're walking down this trail, and I hear voices from over a rises in the trail so I signal to take cover, and I dive into a bush. Just about a minute later seven or eight enemies start walking down the trail towards us. I think Oh, damn, I'm boned, because the bush I'm behind barely qualifed as concealment, much less cover. So I set my M16 to full-auto, ready to open up as soon as they spotted me and then... they walked right by me. I didn't know how they didn't spot me, but they walked right by the rest of my fire team! After they had passed the last person, our rifleman, he turned and fired his grenade launcher at them, and we took out any survivors. -------------------- M16a1
