OK, This isn't rocket science. I will admit that first off...

I have recently spent time this weekend skirmishing with my newly upgraded M24.
I was actually rather impressed by my results and have learned some ideas and techniques that seemed rather effective.

Some may be overly obvious and elementary, but oh well.

OVERVIEW:
Environments: Woodland, Hills, and Urban, low to moderate wind.
Rifle: Upgraded CA M24 with 300% spring.
Scope: 3x7
Results: Mixed 4 kills at 200+ feet

TACTICS EMPLOYED:

Woodland:
As it would seem, this is a difficult terrain from the get go. In this case it
was not only wooded but also on an incline. There were many dead and fallen trees
for nice cover and many places to get a good rest for the rifle. But the most crucial
element in this place was the use of a spotter. Even with a scope finding suitable
targets can be very difficult. And even more, difficult is the task of pulling
back an immensley heavy trigger pull. This causes you to lose sight of the round
as it travels. Your spotter will be helpful in aim correction. It is in this environment
I got a 150ft confirmed kill (with some very excited witnesses). Learning
to contort your body to odd terrian can be plus in this area.

Hills:
This was the most diffcult terrain work in. There were a series of mounds and
hills in an otherwise open field. Basically two teams charging one another. Very
much in the nature of trench warfare. The most diffcult things being target aquisition and wind (due to relative flat terrain. Your average target was the size of a head. Actually your ONLY target was the head (unbless you got lucky. The most effective tactic seemed to be simple providing cover fire. Firing over your advancing team, and over the tops of the hills (average hieght about 6'). At the very least you
can try to pin down any opponent you can't actually see (with any luck that is).
You have major issues getting to the tops of hills to aquire targets due to the
large amounts of cover fire heads your way. I was able to get in at least one kill
at about 125'.

Urban:
Much easier to work in urban areas. this was due to have access to a second floor of a building. this provided the obvious advantages, clears shots for one. But again the wind caused problems. The area was divided in the center by yet again another hill. The same strategy is applied here. Providing cover fire for advancing units. I was did employ an interesting strategy when attacking units here getting too close. I would have a second man with a AEG lay down suppressing fire while I picked targets. Using all of these techniques I achieved 1 kills at about 175' and one at 215'.

Now I am not saying anything I did was extraordinary or mind blowing, but I figured I would share a few things that wound up being very helpful during our most recent skirmishes.

what gram bbs were you using?

with that 300% spring I hope you are using .43 b/c my gun blew .3s like crazey. Also how do you like the m24, could you compare it to an upgraded APS2-SV? I might consider getting one, if it is better, but I am satisfied with the APS and most people generally seem to perfer it, but I am not sure if these are buyist or not.

BB: I used .25s (hard to believe I know).

M24 Performace comments: My shoulder still hurts!!! And the trigger pull is insane! Everyone who tried it out could not pull the bolt on their first try (notice I said "pull" and not "draw"). I actually think I pull out my shoulder and strained some tendons. The trigger pull is so hard that often I lost sight of the target upon the rifle firing.

Than about summs that part up. Word of advice, buy a new trigger set when upgrading to that high a spring.

Yod, is your skin kind of bumby or really smooth (not normal texture) I know what you mean, a lot of people I know Cannot, pull my bolt back (talk about child resistant) I can no problem, but I stared using my vest with my gun to keep pressure of my shoulder.

I use a warrior 1 L96 and usually don't get many kills over 100 ft because I play in heavily wooded areas a-thumbsup.gif
