Let me start off with telling you that I am not going to go into the basics of tactics. ( I think that has already been covered very well by some other members.) I want to tell about my Fsquad's two best tactics, the L-shaped ambush and the Double suppressed flank. Lets go with DSF (Double Suppressed Flank) first.
Double Suppressed Flank DSF
To anyone who know even the basics of flanking this should be relatively simply. Once contact is made with the enemy I put our SAW in the middle of the fight and tell him to suppress the enemy. For those who don't know, suppressing is keeping the enemy pinned down. Next two different fire teams will flank on both sides of the enemy (one on the right and the other on the left). They should come in slightly behind the enemy and open fire at a pre-arranged call, radio signal, or, if specified by the team leader, at will. How ever getting to enemy is the key to this move. Speed is the critical and you also should remain mostly if not entirely unseen. All three groups will have to be very careful where they put there fire in order not to inflict friendly casualties. Upon elimination of the enemies both fire teams should set up defensive positions around the enemies old position and signal the SAW or suppressing team to come up. Next Objective...
L-Shaped Ambush
The L-shaped Ambush is ( as you see,) on a road that makes a right angle. The X’s represent your team. The SAW gunner is the boxed in X and is position at the turn off the road to give him maximum field of fire. He will fire at his leaders command. The main group of the team is stationed at key parts around the SAW gunner on the L-shaped of the road. The X’s that are marked with an S are security/recon. They make sure that the ambushing team is not flanked and they also keep an eye on the approaching enemy. Once they enemy arrives in the kill zone the squad leader will signal open fire. If the enemy falls back, the men pulling security are also in the position for a double suppressed flank in order to completely annihilate the fugitives.
