Hey guys. I know I don't post on here, but this is a video that our relatively new Media Consultant did for an event we held in December.

I want to know what you all think.

Please, by all means comment on this video.

Great video, I love airsoft in the winter.

My only concern is that your "Media Consultant" used copyrighted music.

This is Andrew, I am the person who edited that video.
I work with John and Armory Airsoft. and I just want to say this.
So many videos on youtube have copyrighted music in them. But just remember that I am not using that video to make money or anything. I only used the music
because it was fitting for the video, and if you look at the youtube plage, I have given credit to Bear McCreary, the composer, for the music. Because I didn't want to put too much into the credits, I made sure to credit him on the youtube page.
So there is nothing wrong with me using copyrighted music in the video. As long as I have given credit to the composer, and don't use it to make any money, I don't see the problem.

Andrew,

First let me say I thought your video was great.

As for my other comment, I made it because it sounded like they hired you for a professional position. Media Consultant.

It is true, there are millions of videos on YouTube that are using copyright music on them. But just because everyone does it, does not make it legal.

The truth of the matter is that you could probably make videos on YouTube using copyrighted material, that you don't have rights to, for the next fifty years and never have a problem. But another truth would be that the person who owns the copyright to that music could take legal action for your use. Granted, it's probably not worth it for them, and the worst that would happen is your video would get taken down from YouTube. But I say, if your getting paid for the job, why take the risk.

That being said, do what you will. It's your choice. But I'd be more than willing to point you to a number of websites I purchase music off of to use in my videos. Or you could search and find a bunch of your own. I've also had great luck with contracting local bands to let me use their music. It's free advertising for them, and you get some good music for your videos.

I apologize if I offended you. It's really that title that caught my attention.
