I've been looking for some good goggles for airsoft and came across the bolle commando goggles. I was wondering if anyone has these and if they like them. Do they hold up well? Do they fog? Are they durable and well made? I searched for threads about these goggles and nothing came up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well I have the Bolle X500Ts (which fit over glasses) , and I love em... but the commando's are a little different... a lower end model I believe, but I don't know for sure...

The commandos at $49:

The X500Ts at $50:

I think they would be a good choice... but I cant say for sure...as I have never used that particular bolle model.

Yes I am double posting.. I'm allowed...

I have some more comparision info for you... the Bolle X500Ts I use are very common and very well spoken for... a lot of airsofters use them.. not many Bolle Commander owners have said much though.. se heres some specs from each to help you decide:

Bolle Commando Tactical Goggle has the following features:
Frame:Special Black PVC Polymer for flexibility, fit and face seal
Large Contour for peripheral vision
Commando uses the same frame as the popular Bolle Chrono Ski Goggle
Lens: Dual Lens system for protection and reduced fogging
1.44 mm Polycarbonate Outer Lens
.7 mm Acetate Inner Lens
Also available with a single 2.2 mm polycarbonate lens
Foamless Face Seal
Strap: 35 mm wide Nylon Fiber, 60 cm long with 120% elasticity

Bolle X500 OTG goggles
The Bolle X500 OTG Goggle is designed to fit over most glasses.
These goggles have:
The P80 Anti-Fog coating - an industrial strength anti-fog coating on the inside of the lens.
A double polycarbonate lens
Equalizer™ technology using a beathable, Gore All Weather Vent™ to equalize air pressure between the lenses and eliminate moisture. The result is ditortion free vision and no fogging at any altitude.
Fits over medium to large frames

Of course the most popular Bolle goggles are the T-800s.which were featured in Blackhawk Down. I personally don't like them though.. cause they don't have the dobule "thermal" lens, and less venting characteristics than the X500s.

Thank you very much for all of your help. I think I'm gunna go with the x500s like you suggested. Thanks again.

Okay, so this has nothing to do with Bolle, but I have been searching for a pair of goggles that is decent but not expensive, strong, and still fits my tight budget. I have come across the M-44 Mil-Spec goggles, ans at $10 sounds like a good price. I figured that it'd protect me from airsoft bb's, but I just want to make sure. Here's what I found on eBay:
The M-44 Goggle is currently in use by U.S. forces in Iraq and worldwide.

Great for dust, wind and sun protection!

Each pair comes with TWO (2) lenses;

1) An impact resistant clear, and

2) An impact resistant neutral gray

- they are easily interchangeable!

Fully adjustable headband and foam padding makes for a comfortable seal to your face.

You choose the color!! Available in;

· Desert Tan

· Black

· Olive Drab

These are brand new, never issued, and they come in the original box which doubles as a carry case, and a holder for the extra lens!!

I figured that since it said "Impact resitant lenses" that it wouldn't crack or shatter, but I just want to make sure. Thanks.

Those are the military specification "sun wind & dust goggles", however, their military specification code is not M44.

The Sund wind and dust lenses will "stop" a bb, but the face covering and seal will not... as seen in this quote from a spec sheet on those goggles:

QUOTE
- Face padding fails ANSI Z87.1, and rapidly propagates flame.

They are also well known to fog terribly.

or if you have enough cash these are good http://www.selfdefensearmory.com/wileyxg.html

m-44 mil issue suck I threw mine in the garage when I got them

"The lenses are 2.5mm thick, meeting all ANSI standards for eye protection including both UVA and UVB ultra-violet rays. CQC goggles are mil-spec rated for fragmentation protection. They are clear-coated with Wiley X's own anti-fog coating making these and all of Wiley X's goggles the most anti-fog resistant lenses available. Additionally, Wiley X coats each lens with a special hardened silicone compound that greatly reduces scratching over traditional polycarbonate lenses" from there site
