hey m8's, I have been reading on other airsoft forums and alot of the crap taht is posted is about some book some one picked up in a book store about tactics and combat theory and how every one should give it a read.......does any one else laugh at this? I know there is alot of good information on manuvers and clearing and yadda yadda yadda, and I own many of the books myself.heres a list
SEAL combat boarding manual(roomclearing cqb,entery)
US navy seal combat manual( hard to find this one)
all the SAS books, the ones from boarders or barnes
phantom soldier,fight at night,gurrilas in themist,combat leaders field guide,small unit leadership,every man a tiger,counter insurgancy manual,swat team manual,swat tactical leadership manual,swat battle tactics,RAIDS,swat cyclopedia,CQB,special forces CQB manual,tactical advantage,advanced weapons training for hostage rescue,tactical rifle, tactical pistol and swaat team operations. not to mention about 100 fm manuals someincluding, mout, st31-180sf handbook,fm 31-20 sf technices,fm5-31 boobytraps,fm31-35jungle operations,fm23-3 tact in antiarmor warfare,tm31-210 improvised munitions,professional knowledge(yes I have this one),fm21-71,fm90-4,fm7-8,
ect....
so as we can see I have a personal library of all this tactical knowhow and yes some of it did come in handy and other times I threw it all out the window.the thing about these tactics manuals is there just guidlines, learned threw training and operational experiance. I enjoy reading them, and then thinking back on past encounters. some work very well in one situation and fail horrible in another. some are just unpractical and have probibly been used but once in combat.some times I let all the tactics slip out, go one the offensive and make suicidal, bold, and stupid moves that end up claiming more enemy lives then any profected manor would.given a little luck and accuracy while running helps, but still what ever it takes and whatever works. the best idea that I can give you that no book can, or at can least spell out to you is, tactics are not about killing the enemy proficiantly, there about surviving the enemy effectivly. airsoft is not about rackingup kills and doing in a military manor its about being thrown at the enemy given the job to kill them and then surviving.
so in this post I hope I made it clear that the information you need most is common sense and sensablility. lead does not follow plan, people do, but lead is always the deciding factor. so play smart, play safe and play to survive.
