What should I paint? I'm going to be using a base OD layer and coat it with LOTS of Brownell's matte epoxy for a Harsh Environment-esque coating at half the price!

I was thinking about painting the stock (not the stock tube or buttpad), receiver, and pump foregrip. I might paint the pistol grip, but I'm not sure. Opinions? Also, example photoshops would be fantastic; as you all can see, I'm not too adept with such things.

don't paint:
sights
rail
stock tube
trigger
ejection port
feeding port (forgot the name, this might be it)
maybe the pistol grip, cant decide.

Paint everything else with a very dark camo

anything thats fuggin sweet as it is

Its true. If you must paint just make the stock and pump and pistol grip a darker black. Perhaps a paint that will give it some texture. I have found my pump tough to grip when my hands are sweaty.

Like this but better colors:

If you just paint those parts, it wont really be effective at all because your hand is on the pump foregrip and the pistol grip, your face is on the cheek rest, and your shoulder is on the shoulder pad. You would only see a few spots of camo, defeating the purpose of painting it in the first place. Only paint it if your gong to use the stencil technique. Just putting stripes of paint on it will look retarded.
Agent Hunk
I think a few painted parts looks cool and unique. Not effective but who cares it looks cool.

And paintint the whole thing would be a pain. Becuase the pumping would scratch the magazine tube all the time.

Paint the bolt silver.

I'm painting my gun for 2 reasons:
1. I want to break up it's black outline, as a large chunk of black isn't great for camouflage (especially during deep recon, which this gun is designed for).
2. I want to give it a cool "custom" look without dropping a lot more money (I've already put enough into it).

All of the trades on the receiver will be lost because of the thick matte epoxy coat, but I don't especially care; the trademarks aren't that numerous, anyway. I'm planning on leaving the ejector bare (black); I had the drop-down shell door removed for increased reload speed, so that isn't in the picture. The button used to adjust the stock will be left as is (black), and I don't plan on attempting to paint the rubber buttpad. I don't actually have a sight rail or ghost ring sights on my gun, so that is out of the question. I highly doubt that I'll paint the barrel or shell tube because I've seen Inferno's M3 "Field Combat" (full OD/khaki paintjob); yuck. Since texture can be applied via the epoxy, I'll definitely be painting the pump foregrip for a different look and better grip.

Thanks to Agent Hunk for the photoshop, although the entire stock portion wasn't OD'd tongue.gif . Any other suggestions?
Agent Hunk
I used paint. Too lazy to install photoshop.

I never though of taking the shell door off. Owell I no longer have one.

I want pictures when its done. You should glue a RIS rail on top. And since then it will be like an M4 make yourself a USMC impression.
Thomme
did you actually make an M1014 or is it the same as Agent Hunk's old shotty: M3 with a M1014 style stock?

anyway, leave it as is in either case. Shotguns should have camo on them...

Nah, I think I'll leave the iron sights as-is. I'll just get a red hunting bead to replace the front sight for improved low-light target acquisition.

A USMC impression? Nope, sorry. I'm going for a SEALS-esque loadout (hence the M93R). Keep in mind that lots of authentic additions have been sacrificed for pure efficiency; I'm not wearing body armor (or even a BDU jacket) all the time just to "be authentic."

It's basically Agent Hunk's old shottie, yes. It's about as close as an airsoft Benelli M1014/M4 replica will come, though. And yes, I'm going to paint it. Recon deep behind enemy lines isn't especially condusive to low ROF weapons, especially large black ones!
Agent Hunk
You hvae my stock. Its like half my old gun you have there. Whenever the crap get thick just say "Don't worry guys Agent Hunk is with us!"

Well, the spirit of Agent Hunk anyway... I'm not going to walk up to an opposing team member and do Hunk's signature "snap" (broken neck, anyone?). I'll opt for a knife kill, thanks. a-wink.gif

Kind of off topic but some company needs to produce some m1014s. I imagine it would be kind of like an semi auto aeg that puts out 3 bbs per shot... That would be the best thing since sliced bread.

It would probably have the same issues as the 3 round burst on AEGs.
-=Bloodred=-
You could always make a setup similar to that of the TM shotguns, with 3 barrels, 1 BB per barrel, and somehow mechanize that so it runs on semi-auto.

There's a guy on Arnie's who made a USAS12 that runs off of the blue Maruzen shotshells. It uses 2 Systema motors: one to fire the bbs, and one to eject the used shell and insert a fresh one. Quite tasty.

Instead of rubbing such a beast in my face, give a link!
ardrummer292
Sorry... I couldn't find the link. The guy who made it is from Hong Kong and he posted in the custom back-mounted shotgun sheath thread (not the one started by you, Hunk).
