Reasons to shotgun:
-No one expects anything from you
-"Affordable"
-It makes spray and prayers feel bad when you tag them
-Getting called to airsoft last minute? You're good to go. But with an aeg? "Hang on, lemme charge my battery."
-Distinct sound when shooting; people will know that's your tag when the opposing player calls their hit
-Reloading is cool; petting your magazine for bbs looks funny
-Shells don't rattle with bbs when you run
-Different color shells out of the box for different weight bbs
-Shells feed reliably
-Shells are compatible with each other; no need to worry about filing down parts of the shell to fit into the shotgun
-Shotgunning the whole day helps build muscle
-It looks cool
-Shells fit easily in pouches and pockets
-Shiny brass coloring of shell is easier to find than a black magazine dropped in the woods
-One of the only guns that shoot burst out of the box(If we're talking about Trishot here...)
-Most are plastic and help keep weight down
-What safety?
-Are you shotgunning yet?!

Reasons not to shotgun:
-Weak arms will half-cock a shotgun...ultimately resulting in the gun breaking
-You can't spray a stream of bbs in a straight line to get 8 people camping at a window in one room.
-You can't pet your shell to give you more bbs
-Uncommon repair parts
-Repairs aren't easy
-Not many accessories exist

I don't airsoft much. When I do, I'm purely CQB. I always reach for my shotties before any of my AEGs. Well...until I got a G&G Femme Fatale.

I'll take Mid and real caps over High caps anyday.
