My team owns three of them we've had them for a year and a half. we painted the plexiglass and left a 2X6 opening to see through.
we try like hell to play fairly with them; we only carry a pistol. |

I've heard of making a PVC frame and putting cardboard over it and maybe some duct tape =). It's more fair because if a bunch of guys are shooting at it it will give way. You could just replace the card board after each game and attach it with some good old duct tape.

I mean, it's hard to simulate, as some rounds/guns would fire right through a riot-shield... and they do shatter with use. -------------------- signature too large. removed per forum regulations. resize. ~NGOB

Where I play, riot shields can only be used in conjunction with a pistol, and after it gets hit it a certain number of times, it acts like a normal hit. -------------------- |

When getting plexiglass make sure you get some high quality plexiglass. My friend had plexiglass as sort of a ballistic window in his fort, and we shot it a few times point blank, and after 3-4 shots in the same area point blank it left a big shatter type dent, and after about 6 shots it shattered in altogether.
(By shattered in altogether, I mean the area where the BB went in. The whole thing did not shatter) This post has been edited by xDarkx: Apr 23 2010, 03:17 PM -------------------- |

I've made riot shields out of 1/4 coroplast before. The cool thing is that most pistol or AEG rounds will bounce off, but high velocity rounds or sustained fire in one area will punch through it, which makes it a little more realistic. The bad thing is that it weighs almost nothing.
