If I had a pic of the GB and the Hop up, I could get an idea of what it is NOT. The Hop Up would help eliminate JG and Echo 1 as parts donators.

Have you tried sites like ebairsoft.com or dealextreme.com? They offer free worldwide shipping and have ACM versions of a lot of the holsters you probably don't have access to. Good luck.. The Serpa Style Holsters work well and are easiest to find.

I have no problem with the media putting their spin/Agenda first. It is what they do with EVERYTHING, this is nothing new for them.

I put the blame COMPLETELY on this young man who I am sure knew it was illegal to have those item in NYC. Most Airsofters I know, know that NYC is a no go for Airsoft or any other Replica. This is not a nEw law, and it is not a game there. You have to go upstate or to Long Island to play in NY state. THEN, there is the violation of the University Rules, and ignorance is not an excuse. We are all responsible for knowing what our Local laws are (18 & up).. A Good sign would be the fact that he couldn't buy from a retailer and have it shipped directly to you.

Stupid is, as stupid does. Hopefully his parents have money and he can rebound from this and continue his education. Stuff like this could haunt him for the rest of his life. Live and learn, but please try and be smart about what lessons you want to learn the hard way.

Thanks for the support, I am indeed that SHWELL..

The cut on those plates match the stroing side "Shooters cut" of my real plates. Those should work great in your rig.

I watched the original video posted. I have not watched any of their other vids. I saw quite a bit of Immaturity and unsafe handling of the Airsoft Gun. Excessive vulgar language from young people, and a case of them not taking what they were doing seriously. I did not think of their financial situation, or the lifestyle they may live. I just saw some Teenagers who still have a bit of maturing to do. The problems stated here are valid concerns.

When you identify a situation like this, the best thing to do is to communicate with the individuals involved in a mature and responsible way. Name calling and anger will get you no where. Especially on Youtube and some Forums. You will not get through to them most of the time.. A simple Inbox message to start will be the best way to do it. If that fails, then you bring the issue to the masses and ask that they flag the video or content as inappropriate... But only do so, if you really feel it to be against the rules, or has the potential to be dangerous inspiration to others. As long as you keep Integrity involved, then you will probably get the support you are looking for. I have seen this community rid itself of Youtubers that are a threat to how we enjoy the sport.

Name calling, and insulting them, is not a part of the solution.

O totally agree Boomstick. I try to keep my real steel shooting in mind when buying equipment these days. Most everything I have purchased to date has worked out well for me in that regard. If SHTF, I am sure I could outfit my family adequately if needed. No sense in having 2 sets for everything.

QUOTE (pingupenguins @ Apr 13 2013, 12:15 PM) *
<AT>shwell, Could you please elaborate?

Search "Shwell11 HSGI" on youtube, I don't want to turn this thread into a review thread.

One huge reason I posted this is because I see quite a bit of Condor (Conderp) gear on this and other sites. Funny thing, while I served, there was quite a bit if Condor gear used for Deployments, as well as my personal experience with a lot of their gear. There will always be instances where products fail, and this can happen with any and all brands. You will find it easier to get that failure resolved by dedicated manufacturers and hard from some of your smaller airsoft companies.

I will check out all of my options before diving in because something is merely popular in the community. I have to make sure I am getting what I want, spending what I can, and not buying because everyone thinks something is better than the rest based primarily on price. LBT 6094, Shellback's Banshee, and a few other specific rigs are on my list, but while going through my options, I came across the Condor MOPC and found it to be quite a bargain for what I am looking for. There are real use reviews and enough information on build quality and reliability to list it as a great option for an Airsofter on a budget as well as your Prepper. The biggest thing the MOPC offers is value, it avg at half the price of the other types listed above, with the same functions. SO WHY pick the others over the Condor?

Once you add them, you will have more appreciation of that Rig (I did). For the money, it is a great Plate Carrier. After adding plates to mine, I thought it fit better, I know it felt better, and since yours are Airsoft, it should be better because of the lack of added weight.

Belt is the HSGI SureGrip Battle Belt (Best piece of Kit I have owned to date). This belt has all the features I need, and the build quality to back it up.

Still in the development stages, as it is used for Real Steel as well as Airsoft, so it is changing weekly for now.

Fanny pack for the WIN... And a Flip Flop for a Pistol Holster... Nothing says Florida Survivor like a Flip Flop Holster. and the final touch, a Mossy Oak baseball cap..

I always wanted to know what people look for when buying gear. I have noticed that a lot of what is popular in Airsoft circles is either based on WHO wears it, How much it cost, or if it has real world backing (Deployed).

I see a lot of discussion about one thing being better than the other, but I never see any hard evidence to back that up. Am I mistaken when I say 1000D Cordura from one brand is the same as the 1000D from another brand? How many of you actually know what that means?

What is the thought process when deciding to go with one particular brand over another? Especially if the design of the gear is exactly the same.

Are Looks a huge part of it? Price maybe?

I just want everyone's opinion on what they look for. This is not intended to start a brand bashing fest, I just want to know how Airsofters approach this.

Doing vids that would entertain every single viewer would be a full time job. Recording footage from games is probably some of the toughest stuff to do and get quality footage worth watching. I am not sure How ScouttheDoggie does it, I got tired of being shot up every time I went out to film action, and only end up with 8 minutes of remotely good footage. Feels like a waist of a day.

Reviews... A lot of what Youtubers call reviews are merely overviews where they tell you stuff you already know, or can go to the retailer and read for yourself. And unless you have tons of money, things get quite expensive. I was doing vids all the time on affordable ACM stuff mostly from China sites with free shipping. This was for 2 reasons. 1. I could afford to do videos regularly 2. I felt those products were products most Airsofters can afford.

Those days are over. If I get something, I will review it, but I will no longer get stuff just for the sake of having content. I have over 100gb of footage that I never posted to youtube.

If it were EZ, everyone would do it.

For Reviews, I look to Booligan's Vids and Written Reviews to get good feedback on products.

Gameplay vids, I will watch anyone... Most of the time, the gameplay isn't what is exciting, the music and effects are what make them interesting.

Tech videos... Not so much. Those are hard to make and keep reasonably short. Getting angles and lighting correct and making sure the video shows everything the viewer may need to see is extremely difficult.. After my AOE Vid, I promised myself to never do one again. No matter how well you explain or show something, there are always those ijuts who shouldn't be in Gearboxes ruining their guns trying what they see in a vid.

I have the same suspicions. When ordering it, I thought it was the Condor version. It wasn't until it arrived and I saw the tags that I noticed. But from top to bottom, it is identical.

As for the shoulder pads. All your advise will be taken into consideration. As I am testing this unit, I will not change things until I have gathered enough "Seat Time" to make an honest assessment. Then I will look into the mentioned products to make it better (Been eyeballing the HSGI shoulder pads for a while now, I am addicted to HSGI products).

The Color.. I didn't mention it too thoroughly. It is a great shade of CB. So far it has matched all the accessories I have added or just compared it to. Pantac CB= Same.. Lancer CB= Same.. Condor CB= Same.. HSGI CB= Same.. So far so good folks.

*In my experience, the biggest difference between brands like Condor, Voodoo, Rothco, and other High End brands is the attention to Detail. For instance. If you look at the pic of the PC from the front, you will notice that the Molle in the upper chest portion does not have full molle loops at the ends of the rows. Those molle points are pretty much useless. That would have been identified and addressed by the higher end brands. Cordura is Cordura, as long as the Denier is the same, the materials will offer the same performance and strength.

*Putting this unit on is not easy at all. Making Adjustments is also quite time consuming. But once it is on, you are trapped (LOL). The Hook and Loop (Velcro) is industrial strength and you can tell. In this regard, it applies from top to bottom. Every point using H&L is very solid.

Thanks for the input Second Wind, that is some good stuff. The shoulder Pads are on the extremely stiff side of things. I figured that would change over time. Only time will tell how good this will work for players like myself and others.

For the money, this is an outstanding Rig folks. I will be receiving real Plates in a month or so (Backordered), and the real abuse will begin.
