I caution anyone who owns a KWA MP7 using green gas. Recently there has been an issue with KWA's Hopup Bucking absorbing lubricant and not firing correctly. There have been a few reports (Including myself) of the Weapon Firing fine but the BB's not feeding. I urge you to use Green Gas sparingly, and use it occasionally for lubrication of the moving parts but using propane for prolonged use to keep the bucking from swelling up. If this has happened to you a member of the KWA forums has reported that by soaking the bucking in Acetone for an hour and allowing it to dry out for a day has solved the issue.

wouldn't the acetone eat the bucking?

Apparently not, I know Acetone eats plastic but seems to cure the problem with the MP7 rubber.

"In my case, the soak in acetone seemed to have really worked. It was in there for about an hour, then dried for about a day, and she shrunk down big time. I just did a whole mag on semi this morning, and it was flawless. I'm taking it with me today, to put more rounds through it. Will let youz know my findings."

"Please do, this would be helpful for me and I believe others."

"It works great.

Did a full test on her today, semi, auto, safe, they all work great. Even while being under-powered from the tetra-gas.

To sum, I dissasmbled the gun (I recamend to all, so as to learn your gun. It will help with future problem solving I figure), then washed it all in warm dish-soapy water, and thoroughly dry. The hop-up rubber was then soaked in acetone for about an hour, and left to dry for a day. I then lubed the gun's mechanical parts with 10wt. r/c silicone oil. No lube was put on the hop-up rubber. It'll get some lube via the magazine refill method, after about two more mags through it.

It worked for me. :) "

I wouldn't call this is a QC issue. It's still the same bucking on every KWA NS2 GBB. Why is it only happen on a few MP7?

Thats true, I'll edit that out. Just a quick post. Not sure, hopefully I can send in my MP7 into get repaired and hopefully they will resolve the problem. That's one of the things that's awesome about KWA, they run short production runs so that they can eliminate any found problems in any of their latest models.

Edit: Is it possible that when the gun is firing full auto, more gas is released releasing more amounts of lubricant for the bucking to absorb? I had no issues when I was firing in bursts and in semi only... This could also explain only happens to so many people, as people who are skirmishing this gun probably only fire in semi and bursts due to limited Magazine capacity.

I hope this is just a few lemons because the gun is advertised to run on green gas just fine and would be complete crock if you CANT run it on GG.

I let him borrow it, and it started having issues when he had it. I just sold it to him since he already had it, anyways, this is off topic.

Good info Vain even if it only happens to a few people its good to know how to correct it.

I really hope though that this is only happening to a few MP7s as its supposed to run on GG and if I had one that's the only gas I'd run it on.

I guess well see how many people end up having an issue with theirs.

Okay, one of the KWA Staff (Spiggy) had this to say about the home DIY with acetone on the bucking...

"Our material is like a type of urethane, which offers some resistance to acetone. I would not recommend the use of it though, as it may dry out or eat away at the other parts of the gun.

I'll have a fix-it guide up sometime soon. There's a lot of gears turning(no pun intended) at KWA, but this is certainly on my mind."

That would also be my concern... Acetone is readily soluble in water and will mix with it thoroughly. However, acetone evaporates very quickly, which in turn will take the water with it drying out the bucking completely. Acetone will effect plastic, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem if you have the bucking out and let it dry (acetone evaporates VERY quickly so there's little harm that any will be left after a day) - all depending on humidity, temp, etc...

My MP7 is days old, and is already having these issues. BB's roll out, but the guns goes through all the actions of actually firing. Lame.

Happened to the one I bought from my friend. Took it to my store and ordered a new bucking from KWA however they're taking forever to get the part in.

Supposedly replacing the bucking will solve the problem.

What's funny is how Allilzard pointed out that the buckings are the same across all ns2 models. That's good to know. It happened on a guy I know's ns2 m93R. He did the acetone trick a few months back(still after this thread was created). So, is this a "known issue" yet?

I don't vent, I'm violently honest.
