If I choose to get an AK, I'd like to get a Kobra sight to top it off. I've found this one here: http://kalinkaoptics...side-mount.html
I was wondering if that's an optimal price and if I could find a similar one for less. Has anyone used use a Kobra sight?

Cheaper would be a Chinese-made clone.

Or cheaper yet, a regular red dot sight. I mean, really, a real steel Holographic sight from EOTech is cheaper than that. You'll have to get a converter for the dovetail mount, but still, it's cheaper

Or, if you wanted to go cheaper yet, get one of the really nice Leapers red dot sights. It'll cost you around $100, but it's worth it I'd say.

He said he wanted a KOBRA sight, not a red dot sight. An Eotech does not qualify as a KOBRA sight now does it?

Cheaper while still staying close to Kobra style would be a Chinese-made clone. I saw one on eBay before, and the seller selling it said he got it from eBay as well, haha. Definitely fine for airsoft as you're probably getting it more for the aesthetics.

turtletech, sure you could just pick up a generic rail adapter and use any optic on it, but I was trying to stay on the main type being discussed.

Interestingly enough, you can see a lot of EOTech holographic sights being used by Spetsnaz from 4:17 on in this video: http://www.youtube.c...p;v=AnVbs9kCK3c
So it might not be too odd to slap one on an AK if doing an impression.

I'm just trying for whatever most suits a Russian FSB/MVD-esque loadout.

The clone Kobra is crap. Buy real or go home. If you're doing an MVD loadout, what the various spets units are doing will be irrelevant. Eastwave.ca is another good site for Russian optics, a PKA is only $188 there.

"whatever most suits a Russian MVD-esque loadout" would be ironsights.
