  2. The never said they were discontinuing use of the M249, I suspect it will still play a role as a mounted weapon just not a personnel firearm.
  3. If you read the sections I put in Bold and underline you would see that I am not interpreting it incorrectly But If I must Isolate them for you to make my point I shall. Section C of 12555 © As used in this section, "imitation firearm" does not include any of the following: Section C Item (2) A BB device, as defined in subdivision (g) of Section 12001. Here is Section G of 12001 for you as well (g) For purposes of Sections 12551 and 12552, the term "BB device" means any instrument that expels a projectile, such as a BB or a pellet, not exceeding 6mm caliber, through the force of air pressure, gas pressure, or spring action, or any spot marker gun. It did not have to be clear or brightly colored because it is Classified as a BB Device in the state of California NOT as an imitation Firearm. I agree that the method of transportation my warrant punishment but Airsoft is not levied under Imitation Firearm Laws and is Classified as a BB Device so he was not guilty of the aforementioned Misdemeanor
  4. If you look deeper into the Laws you will find that BB guns do not follow the same guidelines as other imitation firearms California Penal Code Section 12555 (a) Any person who, for commercial purposes, purchases, sells, manufactures, ships, transports, distributes, or receives, by mail order or in any other manner, an imitation firearm except as authorized by this section shall be liable for a civil fine in an action brought by the city attorney or the district attorney of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for each violation. (b) The manufacture, purchase, sale, shipping, transport, distribution, or receipt, by mail or in any other manner, of imitation firearms is authorized if the device is manufactured, purchased, sold, shipped, transported, distributed, or received for any of the following purposes: (1) Solely for export in interstate or foreign commerce. (2) Solely for lawful use in theatrical productions, including motion picture, television, and stage productions. (3) For use in a certified or regulated sporting event or competition. (4) For use in military or civil defense activities, or ceremonial activities. (5) For public displays authorized by public or private schools. © As used in this section, "imitation firearm" does not include any of the following: (1) A nonfiring collector's replica that is historically significant, and is offered for sale in conjunction with a wall plaque or presentation case. (2) A BB device, as defined in subdivision (g) of Section 12001. (3) A device where the entire exterior surface of the device is white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright blue, bright pink, or bright purple, either singly or as the predominant color in combination with other colors in any pattern, as provided by federal regulations governing imitation firearms, or where the entire device is constructed of transparent or translucent materials which permits unmistakable observation of the device's complete contents, as provided by federal regulations governing imitation firearms. Now that you are armed with this knowledge you should be able to have the case dropped in your favor EDIT: Also you should NEVER transport any type of gun be it Replica or Real without it being in a Gun case or Bag. Also you can have a Transport Flash hider that has the orange still to eliminate this in the future
  5. not sure if its worn, but the Trigger system for the WE SCAR is identical to the WE M4 so all parts are interchangeable within the two trigger systems
  6. Thread Clean Useless posts delete, Stay on topic and take the Arguments to PM please it lends nothing to help this thread Thank you
  7. ok read all the magnet ideas but you guys have forgotten something.... Tappet plate
  8. CLOSED: Discussion of Backyard Airsoft is not permitted here on ASF
  9. Correct because the air channels only allow for a very specific amount of flow to cushion the BB. In a sense its like Taking a 10lb Bowling ball and dropping it on a bed Mattress the ball would be cushioned by it, if you were to increase the speed and weight of that same object 2 fold or more the effect is worsened something will fail. I know its not the greatest analogy but I am trying to give you an image of something you could picture and imagine
  10. Agreed, They are inexpensive and are effective. Also if you get the right one you can still talk without sounding like you just had a root canal.

  13. Because this topic has seemed to Go way off topic I am closing this but let me say this also: Most of you have seemed to misconstrue what "Backyard Airsoft" is, and that is Playing in Public view weather or not you have a cult de sac game or are running around in your 70x100 yard playing. Essentially if you live in a community and have Neighbors that can look out their windows and see you its a bad idea. If you live in the country and have 10+ acres and your nearest neighbor lives half a mile away your not backyarding even if it is your Backyard. If you are playing out of public view and are safe and have Owners Consent and ALSO notify local LEO that you will be there (just in case) you are being smart and safe and playing correctly. Its the numbskulls that are running through their neighbors front yard and shooting across the street at each other that are "Backyard" playing EVEN when all the neighbors know about it its not OK, people visit people take drives. Be smart about your hobby and don't ever play in a manner or style that will put yourself or others at risk, Always wear eye protection and never play in a way that you could possibly injure a non-players eyes these are also some of the reasons "Backyard" play is not a good idea, what about missed shots that could hit a neighbor or another person outside in the area? again Outside of Public Areas and view and Be safe beyond all other things
