  1. So, one of our OG teammates was home on leave, so we loaded up our gear and real-steel and drove down to a teammate's hunting property down in Nowheresville, GA, and did what we love the most. Enjoy. We were recruiting, but we got everyone we need. So if we haven't already contacted you, RECRUITING IS CLOSED. The people in this video include trained members of the US Army and US Marine Corps currently serving with ground combat units. Don't try this without receiving the proper instruction. www.daggerunit.com Gear: Josh "Twitch" B. -Crye AC Combat Uniforms -Mayflower Low-Vis Armor Carrier -BFG Battle Belt -Mostly TAG and TT pouches Josh A -NorthFace shirt, Exofficio pants -Eagle RRV w/ Spec Ops KA-BAR sheath, Esstac and TAG pouches -Merrel shoes -BlackHawk SOLAG-HD gloves -TAG drop pouch -Threw on some Arena FlakJacks once the grass started getting in my eyes Paul K. -Crye AC Combat Pants -Crye Field Jacket -Mayflower Assault Plate Carrier, slick with integrated magazine and admin pouches (GREAT rig) Billy E. -Eagle Industries highspeed t-shirt -Crye Precision Combat Gym Shorts -Tactical Tailor flip-flops (Yeah this was kinda last minute so he wasn't able to get his gear from home haha) Rifles: Bushmaster 16" AR-15 Carbine (Black furniture) - MOE handguard, stock, and pistol grip -Magpul illumination kit, SureFire 6Px + pressure pad + red light filter -BAD lever -ASAP sling mount -Aimpoint COMP M3 -MagLevel Pmags w/ Ranger Plates -MBUS flip up rear sight. -Spec Ops Bungee 1-point Rock River Arms 16" AR-15 Carbine (FDE furniture) -MOE handguard -AFG -CTR stock -BAD lever -Aimpoint COMP M2 -MagLevel Pmags + Ranger Plates -MBUS flip up front and rear sights. -Not sure on the sling.
  2. Obvious troll is obvious.
  3. Well, I'm back from Camp Geiger. I've got two months out in Twentynine Palms and I'll be back in ATL to help head up the training. Meanwhile we've got some other pretty knowledgeable team members handling that. On our last training day they went over basic patrolling and the Squad Attack/raid, including movement to the objective, designating En-Route rally points, setting up an Objective Rally Point, conducting Leader's Recon, Actions on the Objective, and all that good stuff. Pretty soon we're going to start some very basic MOUT. One of our guys who's active-duty Infantry in the 82nd will be home on leave, and he's done a good deal of MOUT so he'll head that up. Once I get back, I'll help out with the patrolling and MOUT and I'll head up the live-fire training. I'll be teaching marksmanship fundamentals as well as basic combat marksmanship and we'll be heading out to the range and putting it all together with the AR-15. We're always looking for new members, so send me a PM and we can discuss everything. Once again, you don't need to have any experience in airsoft or shooting whatsoever to join, just a good attitude and a willingness to make it out to the training days. And if you're new to airsoft and everything, don't worry, we've got a couple of other new guys on the team and we're all pretty chill anyway, and even our members who are in the military have different strengths and weaknesses so we're all here to learn something from each other and have fun. So shoot me a PM if you're interested!
  4. We also can do a little bit of live-fire training. executing a Box Drill (one pair in the chest on one target, switch to a second target, one pair in the chest, one well-aimed shot in the head or pelvis, switch to the original target, one shot in the head or pelvis). I'm demonstrating the two types of pairs, the "hammered pair" that consists of two rapid shots with the second shot delivered without adjusting aim after the recoil of the first shot. Hammered pairs are used when speed is essential, indoors, at close ranges, and when the target poses an immediate threat (sights on you, finger on the trigger). The 3rd and 4th shot are a "controlled pair," which is a little bit slower as you now adjust your aim on the 2nd shot and line up a new sight picture before pulling the trigger. Controlled pairs are used at longer ranges, when the target does not pose an immediate threat, or any other scenario when accuracy is more essential than speed. If you come to any live-fire training with us, don't worry if you don't own any firearms or anything like that. You just need eyepro and you'll need to pitch in a couple bucks for ammo. Also on another note, you don't need any experience to join. All you need is a good attitude and a willingness to learn. ALSO, YOU NEED TO BE GROUNDED IN REALITY. One of the reasons we're moving away from the organized games every weekend is because some people don't realize that it's a simulation and that their airsoft team isn't actually a branch of the DOD. We don't have any kind of rank structure, we don't wear patches of units we aren't in, or anything like that. But on the same note, Dagger Unit is all about low-key, somewhat laid back (by actual military standards) training, so if you want to learn basic patrolling, basic MOUT, and things like that, then send DaggerOperator a PM (Don't PM me as I'll be at Camp Geiger for a month without internet). So in a nutshell, if you live somewhere near Atlanta/north Georgia and would rather train and have smaller games on a semi-regular basis and attend occasional large-scale events in the southeast then attend organized gamedays every other Saturday, consider joining!
  5. Use a GBBR. If you want loud, get the WE Gen II or the new KWA LMT M4 when they come out. The KWA MP7 and MP9 are pretty loud as well. However, if you really want the intimidation factor, then a M249 SAW PARA with the DaytonaGun GBB kit (external air rig) is king. Also, aluminum piston head + cylinder head will increase noise, but if both are alluminum it will put more stress on you GB shell if you don't have a sorbothane pad on the cylinder head.
  6. Here's what you should do, in my opinion. I used to run ACU's and this worked really well. Paint a base layer OD, or Foliage Green if you can find it. I recommend Krylon Camo Fusion paints. Then, wrap the gun in a mesh hunting jacket, available at Wal-Mart, and spray paint the gun Tan. Let it dry, then take off the mesh. It looks really good next to ACU.
  7. My old, sold GBBR. I planned on doing a BLOCK 1 SOPMOD build but the thing was internally crap and I ran out of $$.
  8. Only 12 spots left as of 1245 today!
  9. I'd definately get some sort of hard facepro. I used to not wear facepro, and this was the outcome: I personally use this: http://www.amazon.com/Hakkotsu-lower-airso...3/dp/B003C4KQI2 It doesn't look all that pretty, but it works and I can shoulder a rifle with it. The big thing with facepro is that you have to get something that will allow you to get a cheek weld. BTW, the flakjaks ARE milsurp. That's why they're cheap. And you can get the ESS goggles for pretty cheap too on ebay.
  10. There are 14 spots left for the ATC/Replica side. Online registration has closed, but you have to call the shop ASAP at (770) 755-6320. They open at 1200 Romeo and close at 1800 Romeo.
  11. Boom. http://www.flagpatchshop.com/coflpa.html They have Indian flag patches.
  12. G&P is a Western Arms M4 that has been upgraded by G&P, as is the Inokatsu. The WA design is easily the more reliable/realistic/upgradeable design. I would go with the G&P or Ino, and add a NPAS bolt.
  13. VFC internals are actually pretty good. A teammate of mine owned a VFC M4.
  14. Welcome to ASF! I'll be going to PI in November.
  15. To anyone looking at this, I've seen it on the field and it is a BEAST! If you're considering it, get it, you won't be disappointed.
  16. Ok, airsoft guns are illegal in China because China's government takes nearly 100% of the power away from the people (China has a LONG history of paternalistic government), and it bans all real firearms because guns put power (for better or for worse) in the hands of the person who wields it. And a lot of times, you don't really need to have a real gun to pull some stunt off, you can go into a bank with a replica and have about the same chance of success of robbing the bank as you would with a real gun.
  17. A denser .25g BB may penetrate differently that a .2g BB, so you can't take those numbers and convert them like that.
  18. AIRDOG Airsoft proudly presents OP: F.E.A.R: a 24 hour CQB airsoft scenario! Once again we are able to offer our players a unique experience by booking this OP in a 100 year old abandoned mill. The mill features 350,000 sq.ft., 3 levels, many hallways, hidden rooms, and an overall dark and creepy environment. OP:F.E.A.R will be a 24 hour continuous airsoft scenario staring on Sat. at 10AM and ending on Sun. at 10AM. AIRDOG Airsoft has teamed up with KWA for this event and will be giving away some awesome prize packs including a KWA KP8 and KWA KP45 GBB, which will be raffled for the first 100 pre-registered players! Registration details will be announced in the coming days. The OP is based on the F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon)game series. Aggressor (from the Metro Atlanta Airsoft forum) gets the credit for masterminding this OP, which will play very well in the mill. Story line... In the year 1973 the United States Government hired the Armacham Technology Corporation to begin research into constructing bioengineered soldiers for the military. After ten years of research something drastic occured in the Armacham Research program, a girl, Alma, was developed by the corporation who exhibited phenomenal psychic ability. Armacham took a turn in their research, without the consent or knowledge of the United States agency which had hired them, towards psychic research and developement. Their plan : to create an army of mindless clones, with superior physical combat abilities to normal humans, who would in turn be controlled by a psychic commander who would use his/her telepathy to command the clones into combat. The project was doomed to failure however, as Alma reached psychotic episodes and began to kill the staff of the Armacham Technology Center. In 1987 Alma was placed into a psionic reactor known as "The Vault". The Vault was designed to amplify Alma's psychic ability while keeping her under control. Armacham had not given up on its project to develop a clone army lead by a telepathic commander, and utilized Alma to give birth to two children, both latent with psychic ability. The children however disappeared, seemingly vanishing into thin air, perhaps a last ditch effort by Alma to save them from her terrible fate. When all seemed lost, a small child, Paxton Fetel, was transfered to the Armacham facility. Fetel exhibited a strong telepathic ability and a powerful psychic mind, however, unlike Alma, he was able to retain his sanity and control his power. Armacham began to develop Fetel into the psychic commander they had struggled for so many years to create. Fetel, however, tapped into the psychic power of Alma, who lay trapped still in the Vault. Using Fetel as a temporary gateway to the rest of the facility, Alma exacted a vengeful massacre, known as the Synchronicity Event. Armacham shut the Vault off, killing Alma, and took Fetel to a seperate facility thousands of miles away. The Armacham Corporation seals the facility, leaving Alma's corpse trapped within the psionic reactor known as The Vault. The year is 2025. Paxton Fetel, now 30, is deemed fully prepared and ready to command the clone army. This army of clones, known as Replicas, is released from stasis, and their empty minds are filled with the telepathic will of Fetel. At this time, the second Synchronicity Event occurs. Paxton Fetel onec again reunites his psychic presence with that of the long deceased Alma, and marches his army of Replica's to the sealed facility in which the Vault lays hidden, seeking to release Alma's corpse and thereby unleashing her onto the world. At this juncture, the United States Government calls upon the U.S. Army Delta Force to conduct an assault on the facility to stop Fetel from opening the Vault. This assault is spearheaded by a specialized paranormal defense unit, known as F.E.A.R., which is comprised of highly trained special forces personel who exhibit psychic abilities of their own. The Armacham Technology Corporation launches its own response in the form of an elite private military contractor, the ATC BlackOps, to aid Fetel in his attempt to open the Vault. The motivation behind Armacham's willingness to help Fetel is still unknown. The Replica army has already breached the facility, moments before the arrival of the U.S. Forces. The Delta Force, lead by the elite F.E.A.R. team, must assault the building and wrestle control of the facility away from the Replica army before Fetel can open the Vault. The ATC BlackOps will stop at nothing to ensure the success of the Replica army, who they have allied themselves with. In the midst of all of this, reports from reconnasiance teams from both the U.S. Delta Force and the ATC BlackOps arrive, horrifying accounts of mutilation and the death of squad members, at the hands of what has been described by both sides as an "eight year old girl"..... General rules.... 1) FPS will be restricted to less than 400FPS (AEG), 550 Sniper (full auto disabled). This is an outdoor / indoor game with most of the action occurring indoors. However, the engagement distances will be similar to what is currently observed at the ACZ CQB area. MEDs will be enforced as much as possible, but it will be dark and difficult to regulate. Some areas of the building will be pistol / knife combat only. 2) Full face protection is required for ALL players. No full face pro = no play. Full face protection such as the Iron Face / FlakJak goggle system is preferred. Iron Face / ANSI Z rate safety glass combinations are OK, but the safet glasses must be secured by glass staps. Players may opt to wear full face type paintball masks or airsoft mesh masks. Please do not come to the game with an airsoft mesh mask with the mesh that can come out of the mask or stapping system that does not secure the mask to your head. 3) Kill / dead rags are required for ALL players. No kill / dead rag = no play. We are considering requiring or providing red glow sticks to all players to indicate dead players. Please wait for this official ruling. 4) Flashlights are required for ALL players. No flashlight = no play. This is an absolute must, as parts of the ATC facility are pitch black during daylight hours. 5) Flashbang simulators, M203, and LAW launchers are permitted. Pyrotechnic devices are not permitted. All rules will be finalized and posted by the end of this week. http://airdogairsoft.com/airdog-fearroleguide.php The guide is complete with uniform requirements and other information that will be helpful for players to get into the respective roles. We encourage players to prepare their uniforms accordingly and dress the part as much as possible. Use your creativity and reference pics from the game and on the net to create your best F.E.A.R uniform. Intel pics of the ATC Origin facility. This will be the airsoft event of the Summer and perhaps the year! More details coming soon on MAA and on the AIRDOG Airsoft website. http://metroatlantaairsoft.darkbb.com/op-fear-f40/
  19. Yep. That's exactly why the US Army decided to replace the UCP pattern with Multicam and UCP-Delta in Afghanistan, because UCP has excelled there. Obviously you've never had any type of camoflage training. There are ways and methods of moving and staying camouflaged, when properly used, a camouflage uniform can be invaluable, and an actual pattern is going to work much better than a solid color, provided you actually know how to use it.
  20. Chin low, shoulders not back, feet are sloppy :p. And yeah, the EBB ones (http://www.ebairsoft.com/multicam-combat-shirt-pants-version-p-1339.html) aren't Crye Repros, they're OPS repros, like this: http://www.ur-tactical.com/index.php?optio...6&Itemid=29 This is the Crye: http://www.cryeprecision.com/P-APRCS402LGR/Combat-Shirt-Ac There are some notable differences, namely the body fabric on the shirt, the mag pouches on the pants, the stretch panels on the pants, and some other smaller things.
  21. Cover up the IR tab in the daytime, and don't stand at attention for loadout pics. If you are going to stand at attention, do it right. Also, the ACM Crye Combat Shirt and Trousers aren't actually Crye repro but OPS Direct Action repros (which are QUITE different) unless I've missed a release of something.
  22. Lol. No, so long as you stay hydrated, you'll be fine. Remember, drink at least one gallon of water two days before you play, a gallon the day before, and a gallon the day of the game, and hydrate throughout. You'll be fine. Anyway, a black Cordura BaseLayer T-shirt is going to be much cooler than an ACU jacket, which people wear in hot weather with no problems. It needs shoes... Maybe some Merrel chameleons or ventilators? You can probably get some cheaper shoes in that same style too.
  23. The TM M14 has, hands down, the best hopup unit of any AEG on the market IMO. The V7 gearbox itself is easy to work on and very storng. However, getting to the gearbox is a MAJOR PITA.
  24. I like it. In the summer, everyone and there mother runs a PMC loadout because they're lightwieght, but I still think it's cool. I'd definately pick up some 5.11 pants, and I'd get a cordura baselayer if you're going to be waring a T-shirt (http://www.patriotsurplus.com/Tru-Spec-Cordura-Black/Menswear/Thermals/-p8807105.html). It'll work better in the heat that 100% cotton. Also, I'd maybe throw a camelback reservoir on the back.
