  1. I'm compiling general guns usage statistics via a questionaire on surveymonkey.com, posted at this link - Survey . All the information gathered will be posted in a comprehendable format on this forum for all to see. If anyone could share the link, I would greatly appreciate it, because I need around 50-100 responses.
  2. I'm working on a project going into an international science fair, and I need to be able to compare the reliability of my airsoft gun design to that of regular AEG's. I need to know all the AEG and GBB/NBB guns between $40-$250 you've owned and how long each lasted, or how long you've owned each one. I also need to know how they broke if one did and, if any cosmetic damage happned. How often you use each gun is also important. I need as much info as I can get.

  6. YESSSS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT!!! Thank You
  7. I know there are not any hard numbers or facts on the web about the reliability of airsoft guns, but I need some objective information regarding that. To do this, I just need to know about each gun you've owned, how long it lasted and what technical failures it experienced. The model and type of gun is also important. I rreeaallyyy need this information, so any comments with the nececary information would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to develop my own design and need to be able to compare it to existing ones. Any information on how often you use it would be good too. I know these may seem like strange and inadequate questions, but they are very relevant to my particular needs.
  8. Count these - http://kwausa.com/files/5613/1429/4640/CR_...02_G36Cgear.jpg And that didn't include the gear box here - http://kwausa.com/files/2313/1411/8256/CR_A09V02_G36C.jpg I counted 108 not including nuts and bolts. Was that factual enough? My live presentation is much more detailed and delves into the math and engineering aspect, that video is realy a brief overview of a much more detalied project.
  9. No, CAD did not build the Iffle tower becuase they did not have computers in 1887. Nearly every proffesional enginner uses CAD in modern times, so your car or your parents car was probably made with CAD. Your local football staduim was likely designed with CAD, and your computer was probably designed with CAD. And could we please forget the "Mikhail Kalashnikov" thing, its of minor significance and is irrelevant to the validity of the quote and my design. P.S. a paintball gun that fires BB's is imposible. It's either an airsoft gun or a paintball gun depending on what it shoots.
  10. I recently designed an airsoft gun using 3D modeling software and am entering it into the science fair. Here's a link to the video presentation - . I brought the design to a proffesional machinist and he has offered to produce a few parts in the near future. The last animation in the video lagged a bit, but it gets the point accross. Please comment and give pointers, they are much appreciated as the science fair is on the 19th.
  11. First of all, I am not ignorant or stupid. Secondly, the bottom line appears to be that there is no reliable sub$350 sniper out there, which will not require upgrades( the same seems to apply to most AEGs).
  12. Its not that polymers are always bad, its just that they use crapy polymer on airsoft guns. Polymers like Nylon 6/6 and PPS are exelent and used in military grade rifles such as the G36; however, ABS does not qualify as high strength, so when buying airsoft, metal is disireable.
  13. Are there any airsoft snipers that shoot 450+ fps out of the box and do not break easily? If so, please comment and tell me; however, I want you to have had experience with the gun if you recomend it.
  14. Agreed, that is the mst anoying thing about airsoft. I have friends that NEVER call hits even when they clearly one to the pain of thebb.
  15. THANK YOU FOR THESE COMMENTS, thanks to renegade cow to. I will make these adjustments, however I won't entirely model a real gun just cause it takes away some of the challenge and fun of designing it.
