  1. KWA makes great guns. I think people have taken the proprietary part a bit too far, and parts are not hard to get. Maybe not quite as plentiful or convenient. KWA is a nice platform if you don't ever plan to do anything but run stock. If you plan to upgrade and want high FPS, Range, or ROF, then there are better platforms to build on, G&P quickly comes to mind.
  2. Put G&P on your list. Avoid VFC Scars. But for that much money, you can get a nice VFC some mags, and even pick up a JG G36 or MP5k for your occasional close quarters stuff. But if a one gun and done is your thing this would be nice: VFC MK18 http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?...roducts_id=6341 or this Elite Force/VFC 4CRS (long 1 year warranty) http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?...oducts_id=10168 VFC/Umarex HK 416 http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPat...oducts_id=33414 G&P M4 CQB-R http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPat...oducts_id=23911 I'm a fan of ICS products so I'll throw this in there. ICS PCR 97 RIS http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?...products_id=873 Just my opinion, everyone's got one.
  3. I can easily recommend any of these ICS guns. They are M4 style guns with they easy access split gearbox. The first 2 are sportlines, external quality is nice, and IMO better internals than my sons G&G CM. Good sturdy reinforced ABS polymer and sexy! The second two are full metal, with the Turbo 3000 motor and are very nice mid level M4s. I love how easy it is to replace anything in the upper gearbox. Bushmaster Carbon 15 http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPat...oducts_id=37500 ICS M4 S-System http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPat...oducts_id=37342 ICS M4 RAS Special Edition Full Metal http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPat...oducts_id=28497 ICS M4 A1 http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?...roducts_id=6801
  4. You could look at one of the ICS M4 style guns with the split gearbox. Easy to replace just bout anything in the upper receiver. http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPat...oducts_id=39128 http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ER-ICS-M4-A1-41.htm
  5. Not an Aug fan. I'm just irritated with myself that I can't make a decision.
  6. I technically already bought a folding stock JG AK it's the JG1020. It's incredible for what I paid for it. It has a huge hideous orange flash hider but that was easily remedied. However I'm not touching this one. I need a functional Gun while I play with another one. :) So now I'm pretty much trying to decide between the P90 and the G36. Essentially my plan is to ultimately gut everything that isn't worthy. There seem to be a decent amount of aftermarket stuff (especially the G36/MK36). I've heard the JG motors are decent and strong. I haven't really had much luck finding a short length budget M4 like a CQB that's close to these prices, so I've kinda ruled it out.
  7. Interesting. P90. Those things are freakin small. And I imagine pretty light. They have the JG top rail version on sale at Airspliat (Doh) for $97 shipped.
  8. When I get involved in something, I need to know how stuff works. I hate having to rely on people to fix my stuff. I guess cars would be the exception. So what I'm looking for is a gun that has good external build quality that has good aftermarket part support but won't break the bank should I find myself in over my head with a non working gun. This will not be my primary but a way to get in cheap and build something that is quality where I can basically do a full overhaul of all parts needed. I'm contemplating something like the JG G36/MK36 line or a G&G CM, or JG/CYMA AK. I'm leaning towards the G36 or AK w/ side or under-folding stock because I'd like it for CQB to mid range play. Do these seem like a good place to start?
  9. Thanks. Was just using the links as references. I've heard no so great things about Airsplat as well. For some reason the MP9 and AK were easy purchases. I'm just having an issue with this one. Maybe a shorter/mid length M4 would be more versatile than an MP5. The shorty AK can probably do CQB fine if I get into that. I just didn't want what everyone else has, even though technically I think the M4s are cool.
  10. Thank you. I've kinda went a little crazy. Or ordered the Dboys but I still want advice on an MP5 model. I'd like to add one more to the mix. This one the Cyma CM049. Do you have any opinion of that vs. the JC or ICS models.? Here's a link: http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ERM-CYMA-CM049.htm
  11. I got a KMP9R - not M93r. http://www.airsplat.com/Items/GR-KSC-KMP9R-RG.htm However realizing that the KMP9R has only 48 round mag, It would be more inline with a primary sidearm. G&G MP5 is not available from my purchasing outlet. I can get the JG or ICS. But I really was looking for guidance between the two subject guns. The ICS that's the same price as the JG is not full metal, I would have to spend $40 more to get the ICS all metal version that's the same price as the JG all metal. If the ICS gun is a clear winner for some reason, I have no issue spending the extra $40.
  12. I just picked up a KWA KMP9R for a steal, but now I'm looking for an AEG. I have a real life M4 rifle, so I wanted to try something different. Seems like lots of people push an M4 style rifle and I may still go with a G&G or Echo1 should neither of these work out. I really just want to know if these are decent to start with if willing to upgrade as needed. And also I want to consider the availability of upgrade parts. Are these styles that people play with commonly enough to allow for fairly decent upgrade path? Are these too close to the same roll the KMP9R plays? JG MK5 http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ERM-JG-M5-072T.htm Dboys AKS74u http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ERM-BI-74U-RK01.htm Thanks for any suggestions or meaningful opinions.
  13. Looking to get into the sport, get first AEG/AEP and learn how to play. Shooting my real guns has become entirely too expensive.
