I'd like to find a airsoftsmith who can build a full size, weight, and configuration 1911 to my specs, including a 3.5# slow roll trigger that I can use as an indoor short range practice gun.

I think so too but am told that there are rifled barrels that work. I'm willing to test one.

I am looking for an airsoft 1911 pistol or an experienced airsmith who understands real steel 1911 bullseye shooting and can build such a gun. It needs to meet the following specifications: - All metal frame, slide, barrel, and compensator (rifled barrel is desired but not required) - CO2 and Green Gas compatible - 5" barrel preferred, long slide (6") is OK - 3# bullseye type target trigger (slow roll with clean break) - Larger upswept beavertail similar to an STI type - Frame mounted Picatinny rail (I'll provide the optics) - No bottom rail - No magwell - No lanyard loop - 1 green gas magazine minimum - 1 CO2 magazine minimum If you have a 1911 that is close to the gun I describe or can provide such a gun please reply here, by PM, or by email with: A parts list Price & shipping Availability

I suspect you're right and that these folks are hard to find. There seem to be a few overseas. Once I get my choice of pistol delivered I'll be able to determine if things like the grip safety and trigger could be compatible with real 1911s or modded to work. I might be able to do some of the work myself.

I am looking for a serious airsoft gunsmith who can build (or modify) a 1911 airsoft pistol for me. I am hoping to match my group of powder 1911s, all set up for bullseye, with a similar airsoft trainer. There must be a few accomplished smiths in the Washington DC, Northern VA, Baltimore area.

I am new here and after browsing the forum for a few hours yesterday I am pretty sure there are more than just gamers here. I don't want this to be a typical "what should I buy?" thread but it is a "what should I consider?" thread. Background I have a modestly large group of 19 match target pistols in 22LR. I use a pair of very different pellet pistols as trainers. I also have 5 1911 pistols in different calibers, all set up for bullseye shooting. I think I'd like to have an airsoft 1911 as a trainer. Help Needed Following the instructions in a sticky at the top of this forum here are my perceived needs based on some research over the last two or three days. Price Range - $150 - $750 (you can assume no limit) Type of Gun - Spring or Gas (my pellet pistols are springers but gas might be the better choice here, right?) Preferred Gun Model - 1911 Role - Bullseye Trainer I've talked to vendors, visited websites, browsed forums, and read what I could find about 1911-styled airsoft pistols. The brands that kept bubbling to the top seem to be (in no particular order) KWA, Tanfoglio, We, and KJW. Accuracy and an outstanding trigger are important. Can I get there from here? Your Recommendations Your thoughts please. I know there are very likely some accomplished shooters here and I think the right gun is out there. Thanks for your comments.
