  1. Yup exactly what I did. The LiPo's had XT60 connectors and my gun had Tamiyas. Bought XT60 to Tamiya adapters, cut the wires, and cross-crimped them. Too bad I can't solder. The crimps didn't hold too well.
  2. I'm positive it was the batteries as I was already running a 9.6v intellect NiMh and it ran fine. Maybe the batteries I got were faulty? I really don't know, it seems very odd. It was 2 different Turnigy's that I had the problem with...
  3. I used to have an ICS , bought turnigy LiPos, and ran into the reverse polarity issue. I just wanted to make sure I didn't run into this same problem this time around. I just ordered those packs, I'll report back when I try em out
  4. Hm, okay. I don't want the minimum. I searched 'airsoft lipo' and the battery with the most (mAh * C) while staying 2S/7.4v were these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17291__Turnigy_nano_tech_1800mah_2S_20_40C_Lipo_AIRSOFT_Pack.html I'll probably get two, seeing as they're pretty cheap. I would get some sort of 3000mAh 20C, but I don't want to deal with the whole reverse polarity thing. What I've always found odd was I don't see much talk about this reverse on the forums, but it gave me a headache when I ordered normal RC batteries for my AEGs in the past without knowing any better.
  5. I just bought the ICS CXP APE On Evike it says an 11.1v LiPo is recommended. But 11.1 LiPos with no MOSFET is going to burn out my trigger contacts pretty quickly. So I'm looking at 7.4v LiPo's, but I want to make sure I have enough power, I don't want the damage my new gun with a battery that can't support the motor. Right now I'm looking at this battery http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=28638 2000mAh x 15C = 30amps. Will this battery be sufficient to power my AEG? I wanted to make sure I bought a specifically Airsoft LiPo, because I know the normal RC LiPo's have different polarities and cause problems when using them with airsoft guns without reversing the polarity.
  6. I haven't played airsoft in over a year, and recently sold a couple guns which left me with $400. I was hoping to attempt to be a real adult and put the money aside for bills, car repairs etc, or at least just buy a cheap gun to go out to play once in a while, but of course I couldn't help it. I was real close to buying a King Arms M4 ($150 off Evike), but I came upon the ICS CXP APE. At the moment it's on sale as a GI shocker for $272. And within 2 hours of me seeing the gun I couldn't help it and ordered it. Along with it I purchased a 5 pack of KA midcaps, Madbull M100 spring, and some BBs. It all came out to $371. Also gotta order a 2S lipo now... Tell me I did right with my purchase so I can stop feeling bad about spending this money haha
  7. I got an email back from them. I was hoping they would say that they just somehow got a batch of old King Arms 556's, but nope they admitted the mistake and changed it on their website. I Ended up coughing up the dough $$$ for an ICS CXP APE
  8. Yeah I have a suspision that it is not the KA model. The trademarks on the one they list is the exact same as the softair model, and the softair model comes with 2 400 round mags, which the one they listed comes with as well. I think I might go for it anyway though ~EDIT: I emailed them about it just now, gonna see what they have to say. I'm also now looking at this.. http://www.evike.com/products/45431 which one should I get?
  9. I was browsing and I found this http://www.airrattle.com/Licensed-SIG-Sauer-556-Metal-Airsoft-Gun-AEG-p/28926.htm I can't find any info on a King Arms 556 at that length that has a metal body. Has anyone heard of it? I've owned a King Arms M4 before and I loved it. I was thinking about buying it because the mags are cheap but I'm skeptical. What do you guys think? ~EDIT: I found this SoftAir 556 http://www.evike.com/products/31966/ Do you think Air Rattle is selling that but under King Arms' name?
  10. hm okay ill avoid the APS So you think this CYMA http://www.evike.com/products/29565/ will be better than the Dboy I linked above? I heard a lot of good things about the Dboy externals and okay internals
  11. Dboy AK APS ebb AK I'm looking for an AK around $150 that's metal with real wood. I've found these two, I like how the wood looks better on the APS but it's EBB. I know EBB causes a lot of problems, but I think there is a way to disable it. I would highly prefer this CYMA AK http://www.evike.com/products/32091/ But it's on PreOrder for May... can anyone find it in stock elsewhere? Does anyone else have other options?
  12. I have a WE 416, but it's broken. I'm going to sell it and all the mags and put the money towards a new AEG. I just want something reliable, and I don't want to do any crazy upgrades. Just something I can go to the field with once a month and have some fun with. Doesn't need to be spectacular in performance. I love the look of the 416/614 and I'm looking at this http://www.airsoftgi.com/images/airsoft-agm-416-d.jpg. What do you guys think? I want to put a 7.2v LiPo in it.
  13. Oh sorry no internal work by me period, but I got them both second hand. Thanks philsaudio, do you know if I just switch the wires on my XT60->tamiya adapter that will work? Or should I just buy one of these...I prefer not spending more money http://www.PLEASE DO NOT LINK TO EBAY SITES. 14. Excuse the newbiness, what does short mean? And no, no internal work at all recently, just a change of batteries
  15. Hm okay, on my ICS, there's a "30" on the fuse which I assume is the rating... What exactly does that mean for me? Can I go to an auto parts store and buy one with a higher rating? as for the P90 I do'nt know I'll have to open it up when I have time, but my friend whom I bought it from was using 11.1's on it already
