  1. Back when I was young things were a little less complicated. If you wanted to listen to your favorite song, you simply turned on the radio and waited for the D.J. to play it. If you were out with your friends at the movies and were going to be a little late, you walked to the closest pay-phone and paid a quarter to call home to let your parents know. And if you were feeling a little bored on the weekend, all you had to do was grab your B.B. gun and a few buddies and head into the woods. I remember the first time I saw my first Airsoft gun. A couple of local kids were out in the parking lot of the apartment complex next door having a good old time playing an old favorite, "Cops and Robbers." I don't think they still called it that, but the concept was the same. I remember thinking to myself, .."Man, one of those guys are gonna really get pi**ed when someone actually hits them with one of those B.B.'s!" It was one thing playing that game back in the day when your most powerful gun only put out 350fps, but I could tell just by looking at them that what these boys had in their hands were no Daisy's. Curiosity got the better of me and I just had to see what kind of guns these kids were playing with. There was no confusing them with paintball guns, and I knew they weren't real, but the last "modern" B.B. gun I had seen was surely too powerful to be playing around with so casually. I could tell you from experience that even from an old Daisy, B.B.'s hurt! But these guys were laughing and having a great time. When I first approached them I could tell that they thought I was going to yell at them for playing with real guns or something, but I soon convinced them that all was good and that I just wanted to see what they were playing with. The first one handed to me was a plastic spring fired single shot M4 probably made by Cyma. The next two were a couple of clear 9mm look alikes. They explained to me that they were Airsoft guns and that they fired these plastic little pellets that didn't really hurt at all if you got hit by one. .."Cool!" I said as I thought to myself. .."I don't care if I'm not a kid anymore. I've got to get myself one of those!" Needless to say, I've had a few of these neat little toys over the years since then. But pretty much gave it up when a few friends of mine were out playing ourselves and the cops showed up. That is until I discovered the little beauty I have now. It's one of those KWC 100th anniversary Colt 1911A1's. Now don't get me wrong, I finally do understand all the fun one can have shooting plastic B.B.'s, but for some reason the same thing kept nagging at me. .."How come they don't shoot metal B.B.'s out of these things?" "I mean it's not like the CO2 guns aren't powerful enough." Looking around I soon found out they do. ....Sort of. I soon that Airsoft guns shoot a plastic B.B. that is advertised as being 6mm. After a bit of searching on eBay, I also learned that they do sell these in metal. BUT they don't work! They're too big. And nowhere could I find anything about this. Everyone involved with Airsoft is more than happy with their plastic ammo. So happy in fact that they even discuss the merits of B.B. weight, smoothness of the rounds, and what ammo cycles better than others. This was amazing to me. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why someone hadn't figured out how to put a hard metal B.B. into one of these new powerful guns and really got down to business. I finally resigned myself to believing that most Airsoft users are kids who didn't really think like that, and the older ones who did probably ran into the same problem I had and just left it at that. Well I ain't one of those kids. After a bit of detective work, (and a shop with a micrometer in it) I soon discovered that Airsoft pellets don't really measure 6mm's. They're actually about 5.8 mm's to 5.9mm. It didn't take me long to figure out where to get something that just might work. Bicycle bearings! If I remembered correctly, they made bicycle bearings in that size. Sure enough! They did! So I bought some. How did they shoot? Well, with a good CO2 they shoot just fine. They cycle through my gun with no problem and deliver a heavy THWACK! If anyone here wants to discuss shooting metal B.B.'s through their Airsoft guns, I welcome your replies. Personally, I think it's the s**t!

  3. Hi, ever since I started airsoft I have loved using black bbs. I also love "domino" (black & white) bbs. Sadly, invisible bbs and domino bbs are dissapearing from the market. Are there any good sites/brand for black bbs? I am looking but a TSD 1k bag with a 1star review doesn't seem good enough. I am looking for .20-.25g. Thanks!!!
  4. Hey so I've been checking out 6mmProShop bbs on Evike. However none of them don't have any reviews and where ever I check it doesn't seem anyone has ever used them. So does anyone know if theyre good or not? Also while the question is being asked, are matrix bbs good? Reviews on Evike say they're good but other forums regarding it say they're terrible
  5. Hey guys! So this is my first time posting anything, so just bear with me. The main reason I am posting this thread is because, as the title suggest, I have really crappy GoldenBall bbs. Just to specify, the bbs in question are black 0.2 proslick bbs as well as white 0.23 biodegradable bbs. The regular 0.2s don't even feed, but the 0.23 bios do. However, both bbs have clear seams and they break in half or shatter when I hit them with a hammer (I got this method of testing from Airsoft Megastore) as apposed to some Biodegradable GoldenBalls I got from AMS several years back, which squashed more than anything instead of shattering. At this point, I am trying to find out if anyone else has had this same issue. I thought GoldenBalls were good bbs and I and some of my friends have used them for years without issues...so is it time to move to a new brand? It isn't quality control as the bbs are obviously simply manufactured poorly. Just trying to figure out if I am the only one that this has happened to. Also, if I should move to a different brand, what are some suggestions? I would like cheap (at least under $20) but still quality bbs. Thanks!

  7. I can't find anything about this on the internet, so has anyone ever tried shooting 6mm steel bbs (slingshot ammo) with a high powered airsoft gun? If so what kind of fps would it give? I've heard that with an airsoft sniper rifle upgraded to the max, it gan give 800 fps with 0.2g bbs, That would be around 500 fps with 0.43g bbs. I heard somewhere that 0.88g steel ammo would give 250 fps, but I need to hear from someone who has actually tried this.
  8. Torture Test: Amoeba High Grade Mid-Caps We sought out to break these new Amoeba mags. We play hard thus we need equipment that can handle the abuse we dish out. Upon seeing these new Amoeba mags displayed at a ZShot booth. We were skeptical that we could find anything more robust then PMAG's. So we decided to take the chance and buy some from our local store Red Tactical Solutions to test them out. The first time we used them was crawling through the mud at Airsoft Fulda Gap 2014. Dumping continuous rounds through the mags with lots of mud to contend with. These mags held up better then a few of my coveted PMAG's did. So after words still not convinced they would be the next best thing for our team, to bring to our next Mil Sim event. We decided to use our local stores location to torture the mags to the max. But before we did that we decided to see how many guns that take a a standard M4 mag would accept the Amoeba mags. Guns Tested: Wrench: Custom VFC Magpul (Prowin Hopup) Amoeba Sugar Weasle Combat Machine Gabe: Magpul Masada KWA M16 Custom Sig 556 Cruze(Me): Ares Tavor 21 (Dual Sector Gear, Burst Mode) Polar Star G&P Magpul and VTOR body with G&G Hopup Polar Star Magpul PDR-C Results: Passed!!!! We could not find a gun that would not accept these mags. Even my picky PDR-C seamed to just love the Amoeba mags. Torture Test: We.. Dropped the mag 99 Times and it survived, It was thrown at a wall afterwards and feed fine, then in despair it was driven over with three Vehicles..... and still feed fine. Secret and Conclusion: These mags have built in quick pull tabs. They fold to get out of the way and click into place so you can DROP THEM ON THE GROUND, with out worrying about breaking them. Yes those tabs become a special little bumper to allow you to drop them countless times with out worrying about damaging them. Also they are way too useful for quick mag changes. Team Danger Zone 100% supports these mags as reliable durable mags. Go to your local store and get some! Also the price point for these mags are unbelievable!
