I'm looking for an M4 variant that has the following features... - quick change spring - electric blow back - functioning bolt release - forward assist/spring tension release I own a Tavor-21 that has all these, but my 1st m4 (also my 1st Airsoft rifle) was recently introduced to the grave. The proprietary parts are expensive as all heck, so I figured I'd look for a new rifle, but I can't find what I'm looking for. The closest I found was an APS rifle on Evike, but it didn't have very good reviews, and I stopped trusting Evikes quality recently. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! - Jake
I ordered an APS Boar Tactical Advanced Edition EBB AEG a few months ago. It has been used twice in proper games and that is it. It has been kept and maintained well. Recently the charging handle has become disconnected (it seems) from the plate that blows back every time you shoot. The plate now no longer blows back as if it is not connected to a spring anymore and is loose and the charging handle inst connected to anything (it seems). THIS IS ONLY THE START. Also something has serious issues within the gun. It wont shoot consistently. The motor makes a sound like it is trying to shoot but then it doesn't, and every now and again it might shoot like twice but then it goes back to that noise that sounds like its stuck. Im not too familiar with fixing thee guns so I would greatly appreciate any help or trouble shooting I could get. I bought the gun off Evike.com and I have contacted APS who never got back to me and evike was not much help so I thought I would come to you guys!
Airsoft in India is a grey area. Had I known better 2 years ago, this gun would've happened around that time. But what's fun in having a smooth ride, right? A JG AKS74 EBB was ordered disassembled from T111HK & customs ended up eating a bunch of important bits. So what would've been just a reassembly turned into a ride spanning 24 months, almost. Must say, if it wasn't for that fiasco, I wouldn't have learned whatever I've did with this gun so far. Now the scene has changed & I have an airsoft dealership by the side. There's not too much JG left in this build. Steel receiver/cover, shell, cyl/piston assembly, (bevel, sector, AR latch), sight base, front sight, mag & a few small bits are JG. Stock, outer barrel, flash hider and hand guards from Dboys. Inner barrel by Dytac, hopup assy by Cyma & pistol grip by Element. Stock won't fold coz hinge tolerances are different for Dboys & JG. It cracked the potmetal bit, so now epoxy glued tight. I'm yet to test FPS but it leaves decent dents on SS plate & .25g flies far quite straight with acceptable accuracy. And it's LOUD. I had severe overspin issues with this for some frustrating 6 months which was rectified part by part. A combination of things including reworked delayer clip, AB mosfet, HT motor & M130 spring fixed it. As opposed to popular notion, the blowback feels quite reliable & machinery like as compared to softer nature of many other guns. I might just keep it as long as it lives. It guzzles battery for sure but won't matter much outside of a game, and games do not exist here yet. Being M130, I mostly stick to semi. So here goes. Upgrades: - 6.01 tightbore barrel - M130 NL main spring - Steel bearing spring guide - SHS UHT motor - Aimpoint T1 replica red dot w/ custom mount - 3-point tactical sling, 20mm front rail for flashlight/PEQ box - AB mosfet w/ 16awg modular wiring - 9.6v NiMH, 7.4v lipo Mods: - AOE & timing corrected - Shimmed, lubed(Greenslime, 60% Moly) - Custom spring top hat, sector clip - Air sealed(stretched O-ring, Teflon wrapped bucking, cyl head) - Dual layer Al/camo cloth wrap Not really outta place with a design almost 70 years apart(the general external design!).
I haven't played airsoft in over a year, and recently sold a couple guns which left me with $400. I was hoping to attempt to be a real adult and put the money aside for bills, car repairs etc, or at least just buy a cheap gun to go out to play once in a while, but of course I couldn't help it. I was real close to buying a King Arms M4 ($150 off Evike), but I came upon the ICS CXP APE. At the moment it's on sale as a GI shocker for $272. And within 2 hours of me seeing the gun I couldn't help it and ordered it. Along with it I purchased a 5 pack of KA midcaps, Madbull M100 spring, and some BBs. It all came out to $371. Also gotta order a 2S lipo now... Tell me I did right with my purchase so I can stop feeling bad about spending this money haha
Im just curious why its discontinued and what parts I would need to replace to make it functioning to par. I've heard the charging handle and other parts go fast on it. So just curious what I should replace and what breaks on it regularly, as im considering buying it off a craigslister. I know its 520 onsite but theres a reason its discontinued, right? Not to par with newer guns or frequent problems breaks? He wants 350 for it but said negotiable, so im trying to find what parts I have to replace so I could talk him down from the 350 for the upgrades id have to do plus the labor. What would you all pay for it? http://www.evike.com/products/38039/
